^ some theatre costume designs that inspired Flynn's outfit. originally I wanted more of a pierrot motif, but I went with a sortof celestial angel to match nate's fiery devil. I do want to draw them all as pierrots one day...

my friend asked about the "costume" part of this - terence is not wearing a "halloween costume" per se, because he thinks he's too mature for costumes (haha). hence the star moon and sun theme to unify all of their outfits. he IS a piano player in the story, who wears a similar outfit to concerts, so you can see him as being a sort of astronomical musician for the occasion. i think these designs turned out pretty rad and since they're not "stereotypical" halloween fare, i would like to use them again...

fourteen’s speech about the tardis outlasting civilization on an outcrop by the sea was a story from experience btw. their arrival in our universe was met with curiosity, greed, and violence- then they get wise. they preserve it. they build a city all around it- until who the doctor used to be was just a tiny little dot, surrounded by skyscrapers and monorails- but time passes and the city falls, it all gets swept away- and there’s the doctor….

Guys I'm rewatching The Tenth Doctor with my little brother and WOW!!! He's so young! I'd forgotten how young he was!! And the smile!!! Ten's grin is hardly something you'd forget, but it'd faded a bit in my memory.

I love him so much, I'd forgotten quite how much.

I’m dying over Steven and Vicki seeing each other again, especially after never having had a proper goodbye to one another. They both probably spent all their lives wondering if the other was okay. But now Steven has his little sister back and referred to her as such onscreen and I’m a wreck over it. It’s been ten years since I first watched the Hartnell era and it’s always stayed very close to my heart, I’m always rewatching something, and Steven and Vicki both have such a special place in my affections. I feel ten years younger seeing something new of them again. I never imagined getting something like this, and at that to see it treated with such reverence for those characters, their Doctor, and that era of the show generally. The Hartnell era is one of the most tragically overlooked and to see them really care about it, to have them speak of their Doctor the same way a modern companion would speak of theirs, to have them acknowledge the depth of their relationship for what it clearly was, to care enough to give two very underappreciated companions a moving return and reunion that will mostly only mean anything to those who are dedicated to that specific era of the show… I feel so loved and I’m a wreck.

I recently finished reading 'The Wonderful Doctor of Oz' by Jacqueline Rayner and was inspired to create some concept art for the 'Tin Cyberman'. Well worth a read and a nice Whoniverse twist on the classic story.

So over a year ago, I had the pleasure of finding the TARDIS Tin that was made to promote the TV Movie back in 1996. Some of the contents weren't the original versions- the screening tickets are replicas, as well as the jelly babies.

(Plus a Fox promotion card, seen on the far left of the bottom photo.)

The set of photos (first seen in 2022) were extras to go with the listing. However, the two other photos (on the right) are legit, actually from the original kit.

The press notes are also the og copy as well. I do believe the VHS is the real version, but the case was remade.

okay first impression of new doctor who is it is goofy silly fun and i love a bit of goofy silly fun but i wonder if it is going a little far. i know the whole conceit of this season is that whimsical magical forces have been unleashed on the world but even at its weirdest i feel like doctor who is usually a little more grounded than this? and finding that balance is where the magic happens. right now it's SO over the top silly it's a little hard to latch onto it.

15 and ruby are very fun and sweet and i'm loving their besties vibe but i think i need to see some kind of drama introduced into their relationship for it to have more going for it than that. it is only episode 2 tho so i'm willing to give it a minute
