#that is literally Moebius and Aionios

Side Order is fucking amazing. However, I cannot lie I could not stop going "XENOBLADE 3?!" at every plot/lore reveal in it
Of course, it's only surface level similarities and upon looking deeper at the lore there are significant differences. But it is still funny how similar the basic premise is.
#Side Order spoilers in the tags. Be warned and be aware#When Order first came up and explained what it is I yelled “MOEBIUS??!!!”#and then Marina explained the Memverse#She created splatoon's own Origin and Aionios#and then Palettes and how they're the soul of a character manifested as a weapon.#they turned Xenoblade 3 into octopus rougelike#and it is fantastic#even Order/Smollusk's goal of creating a changeless world where the inhabitants have no real free will of their own?#based on the collective desire for stability and fear of an unstable and unknown future held by each and everyone?#that is literally Moebius and Aionios#The collective fear of change and desire for stability manifesting and creating a world where nothing changes#After hijacking a supercomputer#again only surface-level similarities#cause Aionios isn't completely digital like the Memverse is. Aionios is the real worlds of Alrest and Bionis/Mechonis fused together#via Origin.#Further more#Origin was created out of necessity to save the two universes of the Xenoblade series.#Marina created the Memverse not out of necessity but rather the good of her heart#and then the Memverse needs to be freed from Order's control only to free the wills of the people#while Aionios is actually dying and everything will cease to exist if Moebius isn't stopped and free will restored#because whether they like it or not change will happen. and refusal to accept that can be detrimental.#Both Xenoblade 3 and Side Order both share a theme of accepting change despite how frightening it can be#it's interesting to see how they portray and commentate on that in similar yet different ways#it's the Xenoblade 3 brainrot. it's what's causing me to notice this#xenoblade chronicles#xenoblade chronicles 3#xenoblade#xenoblade 3#splatoon 3 side order#splatoon 3 side order spoilers

I need to process the stuff I saw in the Xenoblade 3 DLC trailer, I’ll spoiler it all just to be safe.
There’s six party members we know of for the DLC. They’re Matthew, A, Nikol, Glimmer, Shulk, and Rex. We also see Na’el (I think that’s the right spelling?), Alvis, and Riku.
-Matthew is probably N’s great-grandson, with the old guy we saw get killed by N in the trailer being his grandpa/N’s son we saw in the flashbacks. Probably Founder Vandham. He punches people, kinda looks like Mr. Xenogears, part of me wants him in Smash. He’s an attacker, makes sense.
-A has some kind of connection to Alvis. She has an earring that looks like his core crystal, the silver hair, class name seems to be Monado Fencer, and her name is A. She’s probably Consul A, outfit looks like it has elements from Alvis’s outfit and I’m seeing a bit of M’s outfit in there too. She’s a healer, didn’t expect that.
-Nikol is probably Shulk and Fiora’s son, but like Mio he’s not the original, just one of many incarnations of him throughout however long Aionios has been going on for. Probably Founder Ortiz. He’s a defender, we’ll get back to that.
-Glimmer is probably Rex and Pyra’s daughter, and another Aionios incarnation like Mio and Nikol. She has a very Pneuma hairstyle and the green core crystal, I’m also getting Lora vibes for some reason. Probably Founder Rhodes. She’s a healer, seems about right.
-Shulk’s back, he grew his hair out and lost an arm. He’s also a defender now, so lots of Dunban inspiration and maybe passed that down to his kid Nikol. He’s the mentor to Founder Reid but there’s no sign of them anywhere.
-Rex is also back, but he lost an eye. He’s an attacker and he mentioned some meme lines in the trailer, hopefully he’ll tell us the fifth rule of the salvager’s code. He’s the mentor to Founder Cassini, but we also don’t see them anywhere.
-Na’el seems to be an NPC from what we’ve seen. She’s probably Founder Doyle, making her Matthew’s sister. I think it’s lame that Matthew and Na’el look so similar to their great grandparents who were the same gender as they are, like give Matthew the core crystal or Na’el the blue eyes just SOMETHING.
-Alvis is here, he looks so pale get this man to a doctor. He’s got the Zanza-looking wings and still has the core crystal.
-Riku is here for some reason, and I don’t think Nopon are part of the cycle. Why is he here.
The Founders: -Known: Vandham (Matthew), Doyle (Na’el), Rhodes (Glimmer), Ortiz (Nikol) -Unknown: Cassini, Reid, mysterious 7th founder
I’ve seen some people say that A is either the 7th founder or possibly Shulk/Rex’s student, just hard to be sure since we don’t know what those 3 looked like.
With Mio and Glimmer, the only Rex kid we’re missing is Mythra’s. Really hope we get to see them. Since we also see people with the Ontos and Pneuma core crystals, maybe we’ll get lucky and see someone with the Logos crystal yes I know Malos died but anything’s possible.
There’s another thing in the trailer I wanna talk about, and the weird part is that I’ve seen literally no one talk about it.
This is Na’el/Founder Doyle, probably the sister of the DLC’s main protagonist Matthew. And here she is, looking like a member of Moebius with the outfit and mask, including THE ONTOS CORE CRYSTAL. WHY DOES SHE HAVE THIS. WHAT IS THE LINK BETWEEN HER, A, AND ALVIS. WHY DOES SHE LOOK LIKE SHE’S PART OF MOEBIUS. WHAT IS GOING ON.

Xenoblade 3 end game spoilers and severe Jin brainrot
Ok so stuff like "she didn't want eternity, just a moment with you" and "If the world cannot change, then we'll destroy it" (paraphrasing, I play in French) are obvious Jin callbacks but I'm personally obsessed with the parallels between the Lost Numbers and organisation Torna. The Lost Numbers are the orga Torna of 3!
inb4: “But user ultrakatua, Torna are bad guys! The Lost Numbers are good guys”. Yeah yeah, obviously. But bear with me.
The soldiers in XB3 are Blade-like in more ways than one. In the “real world”, they are humans yes, but in the context of Aionios, they are born from core crystals (literally their data in the Origin are stored within core crystals, as you can see when you reach the Theater right at the end). Add to this their Blade weapons and of course their cycle of death and rebirth, their immortality at the cost of their memories, the stagnation it creates, and so on. They function the same as Blades in 2, but without Drivers.
Now, the Lost Numbers are people who are living outside this cycle, labelled as terrorists by the Moebius. They are stealing these "Blades" in order to free them from the cycle in turn... Well, I guess you see where I’m going with this: that’s exactly what Torna was doing. A bunch of Flesh Eaters who are freed from their Drivers and stealing core crystals so they cannot be used by humans.
In Xenoblade 3, the first time they show you that room where they keep the "cradles” (both inside the castle and in the City), all I could think of was the room inside the Marsanes where Torna keeps their stolen core crystals... inside cradles as well. Visually they are very similar, both evoking the image of a beehive. Granted, that’s still a common SciFi trope, but I still don’t think it’s a coincidence.
Monica states she won't awaken the soldiers until she can give them the life they deserve, much like Jin was against using the Blades he had saved as canon fodder/soldiers to his cause (stated by Nia).
Well, of course even if #JinDidNothingWrong he was also a nihilistic genocider and a definite antagonist in 2 (sorry nobody's perfect 😔), which I'm obviously not contesting. In the context of 3, destroying the world is a good thing, which was not the case in 2 lol
But with regard to the Blade stuff and Amalthus, Jin was correct and I never felt like the game ever tried to tell you otherwise. That was part of the appeal of his character, right. His corruption came from his nihilism and his inability to conceive a future, and not from his ideals. Those parallels in 3 really cement it.
Anyway, that’s probably the most “Xenoblade 2″ aspect of 3 for me. It’s not just a neat reference, but it builds on the lore and the characters from 2.
Why the fuck does Amalthus have a landmark in the City though
#society if torna wasn't a bumch of nihilistic assholes....#xenoblade chronicles 2#xenoblade chronicles 3#xenoblade chronicles 3 spoilers#xenoblade chronicles 2 spoilers#spoilers

Lucky Seven is a very cool sword, both in lore, theming, and design
~~Massive Xenoblade 1 and 3 spoilers under the cut~~
Fiora's soul and will being stored within the Origin Metal used to craft Lucky Seven is so cool to me for so many reasons:
With Aionios being a creation of Origin under the influence of Moebius, it's entire existence is thus directly under the influence of whoever is in control of Origin itself. The Origin supercomputer is based upon Ontos's core and architecture (which we know from Future Redeemed), making Ontos the prime administrator of Origin. Thus Ontos, and anyone tied to that core, carries special privileges within Aionios and Origin. (ex. Shulk carried the Monado in XB1, and the Monado IS Ontos. Rex's life was tied to the Pneuma core, one part of the Trinity Processor which was also under the jurisdiction of Ontos, A just straight up IS Ontos, etc.)
So Fiora, who ALSO was a Monado wielder (via her being Meyneth's vessel and Meyneth too having a Monado of her own as one of the two gods of the Xenoblade 1 world), too has an innate connection to Ontos and the Trinity Processor. Which is why Lucky Seven is so strong within Aionios. She (as the sword) is able to completely override Moebius's control; allowing her (the sword) to shatter the Flame Clocks, obliterate Moebius, and cut through literally anything within Aionios. Lucky Seven, which is Fiora, is essentially part of Ontos and thus can rewrite the "code" of Aionios (yes, Aionios isn't a digital world but that's the easiest way to explain how Origin and Aionios works.) That is such a cool way to explain the extreme strength of the blade.
Furthermore, it means that Fiora is still carrying on Meyneth's wish to give the people of the world a choice of how to live their lives. In Xenoblade 1, Meyneth's whole thing was acting as opposition to Zanza. She wished for an ever changing world in which its inhabitants could live and choose for themselves, whereas Zanza wished for a stagnant world bound by fate. He wanted complete and utter control over those who lived "beneath him", as he saw it. Fiora came to embody these desires and values of Meyneth after Meyneth's death at Mechonis Core, and idk it's just really cool to me that her influence on both the Xenoblade 1 party (especially Fiora) and the Xenoblade universe as a whole is still as strong as ever within Aionios.
Moebius is the embodiment of the fear of change in an unstable world. And after seizing control of Origin, Z created a world in which nothing changes and it's inhabitants serve as fuel to keep Moebius alive. Nothing within Aionios progresses. It persists for eternity, those living within stuck in an endless cycle of bloodshed and hatred.
So to have the one thing capable of combatting Moebius being a weapon that is the physical manifestation of the willpower and motivation of Fiora is just really cool to me, especially given how important Fiora and Meyneth are to Xenoblade 1 and how their entire thing in that game was giving the people of the world the ability to choose for themselves and defy fate. Fiora, as Lucky Seven, is giving the people of Aionios a real second chance at life unshackled by Moebius and their control. Just as Meyneth gave Fiora a second chance at life after Fiora was killed at the beginning of Xenoblade 1.
The way the lore, function, and theming of Lucky Seven is all tied together is good shit.
It also being why the sword is called "Lucky Seven" is very funny. (Fiora is Xenoblade 1's seventh party member, and she IS the sword.)
It could also be why the sword looks so much like a Monado. The soul within is that of someone with a connection to the Monado/Ontos.
#That also explain the Sword of the End#that also explains the Sword of the End. it contains Malos/Logos. The 3rd part of the Trinity Processor alongside Pneuma and Ontos.#which is why it too is indestructible and so unbelievably powerful.#i like that it wasn't explicitly explained in game cause being able to think about it like this is sooo fun and enjoyable#i love thinking and analyzing shit#making connections and stuff#great fun#xenoblade 3 spoilers#xenoblade 1 spoilers#xenoblade chronicles#xenoblade chronicles 3#xenoblade chronicles 1#xb1#xb3#xb1 spoilers#xb3 spoilers#Fiora xenoblade#Lucky Seven#lucky seven xenoblade#meyneth#meyneth xenoblade

Crystal of Shining justice Tattle Dialogue: Noah
Noponic Scouter Data:
HP: 750
ATK: 125
Karting Skill: Mediocre at best.
Miyabi: That’s Noah, the agreed upon leader of Ouroboros, the guy who was, well essentially your counterpart in Aionios, as well as in a relationship with one of the soldier clones based on you. He then proceeded to drive said alternate version of you to a deep despair through a series of severe Salvager’s Code violations.
I say we give him a little payback, for that, and siccing Moebius X on you.
This should be pretty easy however, because the only thing putting you on the same level as him was intervention from Moebius. Not to mention he’s literally just a normal 13 year old Homs with a normal sword in his current state.
Glimmer’s gonna kick him into next week
#miyabi xenoblade#noah xenoblade#xenoblade chronicles 3#noah is put on trial for salvager’s code violations#cosj au#Yes Miyabi has the Nopon version of a Saiyan Scouter
