#animorphs#book 16 was something ELSE#everybody's like oh yeerk serial killer episode but the buried part of the lede is#that this is the book where jake really starts to crack under pressure of leadership and start making unilateral and divisive decisions#like letting said serial killer live because that person isn't just killing humans he's killing YEERKS#and his and cassies rift over it . the rift that will allow them to win the war but which their relationship wont survive#and that very chilling final scene with the whole gang hanging out and helping do chores around the barn#and he says something like we were still us. for now#q#but we're not here to talk about all that! we're here to read the oatmeal book!
