i have no idea why we got so lucky but. does youku ever release english subs/versions on their app for other shows?
or did they just notice the influx of out of china phone numbers registering and decided to cash in?
#rant#word of honor#because if it was a money move its actually a decent one#cause yeah it would give them some Bam english watching subscribers that'll pay for a while that otherwise wouldnt have used the app#im just curious cause like. im following killer and healer at the same time rn#and mango tv saw HUGE demand for subtitles and waited a week anyway with fans afraid it would not even be subbed or only partly subbed#so fans started making fansub#mango tv thankfully decided 'ok because of that we'll sub ahead of time to several eps like up to ep 10'#because if they'd only dropped 1 sub ep a week that wouldve been bad with 14 eps out lol#but mango tv has been like that too with other shows which is why fans assumed they might do it again#whereas youku of course has an actual decen youtube schedule i think its great#its regular and has subs SAME day (altho even a delay of X days is fine since youku subs very regularly)#and i suppose it makes sense they put the subs up early on youku app - they must've subbed ahead of the airing schedules.#so they already have the eng subs. they're delaying release on youtube cause reasonably it encourages youku vip subscription for early eps#all that's perfectly business appropriate. the fact tho they just put all subs FOR vip eps on the app#thats a pretty smart small decision that might make them some gains. that i didnt expect to see#since presumably they had the subs already. so it was a matter of 'ah can we make some extra money with them'#idk in college i had to study business case studies and just. the comparison between mango tv rn that CUTS audio out of its OWN shows cause#its too lazy to copyright its OWN audio on youtube. versus youku rn that is even making eng subs available on its app for vip is !!!!
