The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part 5

We left off with Kyra, but now we're back to the main house to talk about Kristofer!

Kristofer met his soulmate Marisa at a coffee shop, while hoping to meet some other teenagers. This is all great, except Marisa is an Adult, so obviously they can't date.

Instead, they become really good friends, and when Kristofer becomes an adult, he immediately asks her out on a date.

Normally age differences annoy me, but they are so cute together, I have to just let it be a thing.

Meanwhile, Sofia reconnects with Houston, who has been relentlessly pursuing her for like 20 years.

Finally, she proposes to Huston, although her Ex, Reed, randomly shows up to watch the proposal and the elopement that follows.

He seems cool with it though.

After the wedding, Huston pulls out his magic 8 ball to see how his relationship with Sofia is going to go, but he isn't pleased with whatever he learns.

The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part 4

Well, everything starts out smoothly. Kyra and Maddox move into their new home, a wrecked pirate ship in Oasis Springs, next to their waterfall, that I rehabbed just for them.

They study, they play juice pong, they travel to Kyra's mom's house to write their term papers (the pirate ship is not on the grid). Things are going swimmingly. There's just one little problem...

Kyra WILL NOT stop telling Maddox fake bad news. He cries. She laughs. Their relationship score plummets against my will. It's a whole thing.

Maddox is, like, a super nice guy, and frankly, as the supreme overlord in this world, I decided he deserved better. So Maddox graduates from college, asks Kyra to just be friends, and gets an apartment in San Myshuno.

Kyra graduates a week later, and wastes no time looking for her new soulmate.

She goes on a bunch of dates, until she meets Chad (I am NOT making this up), an evil musician with a man bun. I decide Kyra probably won't be undeservedly mean to him. He and Kyra hit it off, and proceed to the Romance Festival, where, like many before them, they get engaged.

The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part 2

After Reed leaves her, Kyra and Sofia move in with Elsa at the family compound, and everything seems to be going well except for one little problem: Since Reed and Sofia didn't actually get divorced, Reed keeps swinging by Sofia's house, and she keeps letting him in.

Initially, Elsa hopes they'll reconcile, but once she realizes Reed is just popping around at 11 pm for a booty call, she starts sending him home whenever she's able to get to the door first. It's not enough though, and Sofia gets pregnant with their second child together, Kristofer.

Although she does have to chase Reed down in the woods outside her house to tell him about it.

Kyra and Kristofer grow up, largely unsupervised, and Reed continues to pop by the house to briefly visit with them and hook up with Sofia.

He tries to introduce Kyra to half-sister Juniper, but it's super awkward. Kyra spends her teenage years working in her garden, playing chess, painting, practicing the piano, honing her piano skills, and getting straight A's in the hope that she can go to the college of her choice. She also gets to be a birdesmaid at Aunt Elsa's wedding (more on that later), and plays a role in raising her brother.

All too soon, Kyra grows up to be a young adult, earning three bonus traits despite being largely neglected as a child.

Kyra celebrates her 18th birthday with her whole family. Even Reed shows up, although he entertainingly (and I swear the game did this itself) stands on the opposite side of the kitchen from everyone else.

Kyra's still waiting anxiously to hear about her college application, but the drama's not over...

The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part One

I accidentally created a branch of my founding family with so much drama I can't summarize it in one post. Strap in for a regular daytime soap-opera's worth of chaos.

Our story today starts with Reed Vazquez. He's the oldest of Wren's five children, and also has the good fortune to be my least favorite.

I had no clear plans for Reed, so when he became an adult he moved into a studio apartment in San Myshuno and got a sophisticated cat. He hopped from job to job trying to make ends meet, and eventually asked his high school sweetheart, Sofia Bjergsen, to move in with him.

Sofia joined Reed and the cat, and started a promising career as a freelance writer, while secretly yearning to be a musician. Whenever she could, she snuck down to the plaza below their building and played her guitar, standing in the cold for hours and earning very few tips despite her high skill level.

Reed and Sofia get married at the spice festival, but despite their long courtship, their relationship almost immediately starts to fizzle. Sofia is either writing freelance books or playing music in the square, and then they are in the apartment together, they're constantly bickering.

One of the few people who regularly shows up to watch Sofia play is a friend from her childhood club, Houston. After a few weeks, Houston and Sofia start talking after her "gig" and they quickly reconnect. Houston calls Sofia for a date, and she secretly accepts.

Meanwhile, Reed meets a cute witch at the neighborhood bar, Grace Anansi. They hit it off chatting, and when they run into each other on the plaza the next night, their new friendship escalates.

It's pretty clear Reed and Sofia's marriage is about to be over when Sofia unexpectedly becomes pregnant. At first, it's not clear whether the baby is Reed's or Houston's, and a worried Sofie breaks things off with Houston in a brief attempt to save her marriage to Reed.

It turns out the baby, little Kyra, is Reed's daughter after all, but sharing a child isn't enough to save Reed and Sofia's marriage. Reed moves out to go live with Grace, who it turns out, is also pregnant.

Sofia and her newborn daughter live in the apartment for a few days, but when Kyra becomes a toddler, it's obvious they need more space. Sofia and Kyra move back into the Bjergsen family home, where Sofia's sister Elsa has been trying to keep the property afloat since their parents passed, using her small salary as a charity organizer.

After a rough first week, during which Sofia manages to set the kitchen on fire and a too-snug doorway threatens to kill the entire family, everyone settles in. Sofia and Elsa sell off some of their parents more valuable furnishings, and Elsa looks after Kyra while Sofia cranks out freelance gigs almost 24/7 to keep them afloat.

Things are looking up for the three women of the Bjergsen clan. There's just one little problem....

The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part Whatever

While Kevin was at college, he got a call from cousin Kristofer that was like "I've been thinking of starting a family, what do you think?" Kevin told him to go for it, and I forgot about this until Kevin graduated and moved home, and Kristofer and Marisa suddenly had a baby. Well, whatever. His name is Josh.

Kristofer and Marisa move to a cute little house I modified for them in Evergreen Harbor, and get to work trying to make the world a better place.

Marisa spends her days canvassing the neighborhood and trying to get her neighbors to improve it, while pregnant with her second child. The dog babysits Josh in the meantime. She's rewarded with another baby boy and a new community garden.

Well, it isn't long after Kevin becomes a teenager that both Sofia and Elsa pass away, leaving the three men alone in the Bjergsen mansion. Kristofer intended to go away to college, but instead is forced to stay at home and attend the University of Brichester by day while working as a fisherman part time.

Kenneth keeps his job as an expert fisherman, and tries to make ends meet, by gardening and doing odd jobs when not at work. He becomes good friends with his cowplant, despite it not being very lucrative.

A bit lost without his mother's guidance, Kevin takes a gap year and becomes a serial dater. By the end of it, he has a great reputation for being a good time.

After a few years of mourning, Kenneth meets Siobhan Fyres at a bar, and they immediately hit it off.

They go on a date in San Myshuno and fall in love almost immediately.

A few days before graduation, Kristofer proposes to Marisa in a quiet and picturesque corner of Brichester's campus.

Kevin heads off to university housing, just as Siobhan unexpectedly becomes pregnant, and Kenneth finds himself expecting a new baby.

Kristofer graduates from college with Marisa by his side, and prepares to start a new life as a city planner.

The Bjergsen-Vazquez Legacy: Part 3

After Kyra's 18th birthday party, Sofia finally comes to her senses and asks Reed for an official divorce. Reed is upset despite living with another woman and his other child for 18 years, and immediately goes to tell Kyra what he thinks of her mom (I'm not making this up, I just didn't get screenshots). Kyra and Reed get in an argument, and their already low relationship score starts to plummet.

But the day is saved when Kyra learns she's been admitted to almost all of the distinguished degree programs and received a merit scholarship. Despite being sure she'd matriculate at Brichester, she enrolls in the Foxbury Distinguished Degree program in physics.

Kyra moves into university housing where she shares a house with four male roommates. She goes to bars, she goes on dates, she almost falls for Wayne (below) but learns he's a kleptomaniac (I've tried to match so many girls with this townie because he's cute and nice but I always forget about this trait until he steals a dog food bowl or something).

After a night out at the University Student bar, Kyra meets Maddox Wills, and they hit it off. Maddox is a cheerful genius perfectionist, and the perfect match for straight-laced Kyra who wants a stable family life in her future. Maddox is a student at Brichester majoring in communications, although Kyra later learns he's on academic probation.

Things are looking up for Kyra, and as she's jogging to class to take her last first semester final exam, she learns she's won the lottery! That's right, Kyra went from having a $5,000 college fund to having a $1,005,000 college fund in about two seconds.

Kyra is dazed, but pushes through her finals and heads out on a romantic date with Maddox to the Sulani waterfall. After frolicking in the falls, Kyra realizes there's only one way her life could get better, and asks Maddox to marry her.

Maddox says yes, and the two prepare to start their new lives together.
