The artwork in Phantom Tales of the Night is so gorgeous. In a couple volumes there’s even artwork inside the front and back covers (before getting to the actual pages).
(It’s a but confusing to read, but the English release is completed with 12 volumes!)

I wish I enjoyed the story to Shounen Note more because the artwork and how illustrations are framed are sooo good (I am pretty sure I made a post or 2 about it before). I have the author’s other work, Hiraeth, but despite having an official English translation its digital only so I got the JP phsyical copy instead
Like I would like to buy Shounen Note, but I don’t think its worth it if I absolutely don’t care to read it again

I read Our Dreams at Dusk today!
It’s by Yuhki Kamatani, the same author as Shounen Note and Hiraeth: The End of the Journey. I really love the composition and framing for some of the pages and panels in their works!
Of the three series that they have english licenses for, Hiraeth is my favorite. Sadly it only has a digital license, so I settled on getting the physical Japanese copy of the series for my collection.
Using the synopsis on mangadex, Our Dreams of Dusk is about…
Not only is high schooler Tasuku Kaname the new kid in town, he's also terrified that he's been outed as gay. Just as he's contemplating doing the unthinkable, Tasuku meets a mysterious woman who leads him to a group of people dealing with problems not so different from his own.
For the most part, I did like reading this one. Each member of the main cast has some focus along with their own problems that are explored, but I feel like some could have had a bit more time for some proper resolution. Like, maybe one more volume maybe.
Just talking a bit more about the other two series I've read from this author, I do think they improved over time. Chronologically its: Shounen Note -> Our Dreams at Dusk -> Hiraeth. For Shounen Note, my main issue is that the MC isnt really present in a good chunk of the story, and the focus is more on the other members of the Choir, and I don't particularly care that much about them. Though, this series probably has the most pages with compositions like the ones I posted above from Our Dreams at Dusk. Our Dreams just feels like it could be more fleshed out, and Hiraeth I felt the most satisfied by the time the ending was reached, although some parts were confusing (it is a series about girl's close encounter with death and a journey with an immortal, and a dying god).
