“wicked” nicphie au

ok so this is most likely very incoherent and ignores like half of the entire plot of act 2 and SUPER long but hear me out (also search up the musical on wikepedia if you don’t know it, it gives EVERYTHING for the plot so) 

i am also ignoring nessa (elphaba’s sister) and boq(??)’s relationship because it gives me a headache and now every plot point in this au involving them is caused by *hand-wavey gestures*

ACT I (technically)

to start, we all know glinda and elphaba were girlfriends let’s be real

sophie is obviously Glinda, and you know how galinda changed her name to glinda?...what if sophie changed her name??

which means Nicola is Elphaba and she has a brother that her father loves more because she’s not a boy and promises to take care of him

madame morrible has to be pollux and dr. dillamond is august sader who’s blind and a seer (right??)

and then i guess hort is fiyero if he didn’t have a stick up his ass

and you know what, japeth is the wizard of oz and is posing as his brother, rhian

 “what is this feeling” was totally gay and imagine that with nicphie like here (actual lyrics):

“my pulse is rushing” -sophie

“my head is reeling” -nicola

“my face is flushing” -sophie

“what is this feeling?” -nicola

“loathing. unadulterated loathing” -both of them

THAT GIVES NICPHIE VIBES RIGHT?? plus the part where nicola (elphaba) writes to her father? and the part where everyone is on glinda’s side because elphaba is weird? 

the dance scene where elphaba is standing alone near the side after glinda gave her a witch hat to wear and no one will dance with her and glinda takes pity and dances with her and suddenly everyone sees the two girls in a new light??....THAT’S NICPHIE

and sophie doesn’t really have any friends so now she just latches on to nicola and gossips with her and then in “popular” is sophie trying to give nicola a makeover to impress everyone

nicola dreams of working with the wizard, “rhian” and when she goes to the emerald city with sophie, who she has feelings for but she’s trying to bury them because she thinks it’s one-sided and she has bigger dreams

she meets japeth and finds out that he’s not that bad and that she’ll be able to work with him IF she proves herself with her finger glow

and madame morrible/pollux is also there as “the wizard’s press secretary” because he would the little bitch to giver her a book of spells that and then she finds out he’s a fraud who’s the one who has been oppressing all of the seers like the sader family because he’s also part of one and hates it (right??) 

and so pollux tells everyone that she’s evil and she vows revenge on japeth

ACT II 

*sigh* here’s where the mess comes in (for me, because i am stupid) and plot holes are there but shhh

ok basically sophie (glinda) is like a positive figure in the world and nicola has been labeled the “wicked witch of the west” and nicola pays a visit to munchkinland becuase reatrix (who she bonded with when sophie and her became friends) live there 

and find theyre being oppressed by evelyn sader because rafal, a munchkin (GOD imagine) isn’t in love with her and so she’s restricted all of their rights so rafal has no choice but to stay (she has butterflies, like how nessa in this has the red shoes)

and nicola promises that evelyn will find love if she stops this, and nicola pulls out the spellbook that pollux gave BUT evelyn takes it and tries to cast a spell and it backfires, shrinks rafal’s heart, but nicola tries to fix it and he ends up as the tinman from wizard of oz

evelyn is horrified and blames nicola for everything

then japeth comes back and tries to convince nicola to come back and work for him, she says no and japeth decides to arrest her and then hort (who’s been with sophie) switches sides to help nicola

im ignoring the part where fiyero and elphaba like “confess” because no ❤️

anyway, sophie is mad and sad for some unknown reason (it’s jealousy) and decides to use nicola’s younger brother as bait to lure them in

after hort joins nicola, nicola gets a feeling that her brother is in danger and comes back to find him crushed (you know  by dorothy?? by that house with the munchkins and the red shoes and stuff) and then the wizard’s guard find her and try to capture her while hort like tries to fight them?? but he fails and nicola can’t save him

later, the people of oz are declaring war on nicola and glinda has realized that pollux is responsible for nicola’s brother’s death and flees to warn her

here’s where it gets messy because instead of including the part where elphaba dies and glinda goes to the wizard and it turns out he’s the biological father and blah blah blah

i say that....

the wicked witch of the west “dies” by dorothy throwing a bucket of water and melting her, just like how the story goes

and then glinda the good renounces her role as a good witch because of how she has acted

and thus, the good and the bad witches of the south and west are dead...

and sophie and nicola walk free and elope

....ok that’s it this took me way too long for a crazy idea i had at 3 in the morning the day before school started so yeah <3....nicphie <3
