what the hell day is it *does math* Day 355? No, 354. No? *checks* Yeah. 354. Guys I can't count past like 40 without getting lost, this is really hard for me says the accountant XD
ANYWHO, I have done things! And stuff! And I keep adding unnecessary details to this bed, but the more I add to it the more it looks exactly like every bed in every shitty motel/cheap hotel I have ever stayed in and I'm having fun, so do I care that the detail being added is unnecessary? No I do not. Besides, something other than Iggy's shirt needs a fun texture and I don't get to use the wood grain brush very often :P

DAY DUNNO. 356? DOESN'T MATTER, FUCKIN COLD, FINGERS HURT. -40°F WINDCHILLS ARE BULLSHIT.
I did line art experiments on Prompto and I don't know what I think of it. I'll make a decision tomorrow after I do the same stuff with Ignis's lines and see what it looks like as a whole.

Day 295, and as a break between expression sheets I decided to do a bit more work on that Ikemen Vampire fanart from *gesture vaguely* however long ago
I'm still not too happy with Jean's pose but meh, I'm just thumbnailing/spitballing rn, so I'm not too worried about it XD I'm probably going to wind up redrawing the whole thing from scratch, but for right now I'm just kind of scribbling and seeing what happens. Super happy with the MC's pose, though :D

Dayyyyyy *checks* 349. I was gonna say 347. Glad I checked. Anywho!
Shading is mostly(?) done, I did some adjustments to Iggy's hair so it looks more like Iggy's hair, and... I may scrap trying to do the lines on Prompto's shirt and just switch him over to his casual outfit sans jacket XD Or just make up a new outfit for him! He's allowed to have plain black sleeveless shirts! I won't stop him! In fact I'll encourage him! Expand your wardrobe, other me!!!

Day 364, one more day til the end of the Great Artscapade of 2022!
Today I bring you the rest of the shading on the unnamed character, and most of the shading on her staff! The staff has been freshly summoned from the aether, the textures are still loading :P
Something's bothering me about the way her skirt drapes, so I'll have to spend some time to figure out how the drape is wrong and from there how to fix it. But that's a problem for another time; tomorrow will be spent on cleaning the house and finishing the shading on the staff. And maybe, if my uterus doesn't betray me, the dishes! Woo...

Day 362, I have 9% battery on my iPad down from 100% because I'm also listening to YouTube while I work on this. Inking/line cleanup is done! Color bases are established; proper color to come! And then!!! SHADING!!!!

Day 361, and today's attempt at redrawing 13 year old art is going significantly better than yesterday's XD
I was going through a lot of my old digital art yesterday and there's so much of it I want to redo, it's almost funny. I also learned that Photobucket has gone down the shitter and has become significantly more evil since the last time I used it. I'm gonna check this weekend to make sure all my original stuff is backed up on my external drive—it should be, but you never know.

#the great artscapade of 2022#bobbi's being weird again#art#my art#art evolution#art progress#character design#I think I've decided on a New Year's Resolution#like I'm still gonna do daily art that's not changing#but this year I'm going to add Scheduling My Chores™ and see if that makes me more consistent in keeping things clean#use Fridays to do dishes and Saturdays to do laundry and the last Saturday of the month to do bedding (plus regular laundry)#yes I know the bedding should be changed more frequently but look#look#once a month is already more frequently than I currently do it#vacuuming and dusting are my roommate's chores but depending on how on top of things I can get I might take over those#I might wind up falling off of this bandwagon#considering a lot of my inconsistencies are due to periods and illnesses#both of which pretty much immobilize me for at least a day or two and have VERY BAD HABITS of hitting near the weekends#but#if I can get into the habit of laundry and dishes once a week at minimum I think that will help a lot#so I'm gonna try to do that

Day 350, I've gotten SO! MUCH! WORK! DONE!!!! *collapses*
I gave up on the lines on Prompto's shirt. Congratulations on your new plain black tank, buddy. Accessories have been added, I swapped Prompto's outfit to his casual no jacket outfit, and!!!! Subtle change that was a LOT of work because I had to reconstruct some things, but I scooted Prompto a bit to the right so his legs are actually attached to his hips. So yes, there is a difference between the bottom two images here! XD

Day 294, and we're done! Marie has a face and facial expressions! Woop woop!
I managed to do some tweaking to Curious where I'm much more satisfied with it. Still not totally 100% satisfied, but the things I'm dissatisfied with are all fiddly and I don't feel like being all fiddly. I'll get better the more I draw her, so I don't have to get everything absolutely pixel-perfect for this thing.

Day 154 of the year, 153 of art! Also Day I Need To Figure Out How I Want To Keep Counting. Do I keep counting the days passed since starting this? Do I only count the days I successfully art? ... I'll make that decision later, I guess. Especially considering I only missed one day in SIX MONTHS. And I missed it because I had Covid! That's a pretty dang good reason not to art! So do I really not want to count it? Because I didn't technically art, but I FUCKING SURVIVED, so... You know what, it counts. Surviving is an art form, I have decided, fight me D<
Anyway, I... You guys, I think I'm done? Like I have some finalizing to do, like deciding what I want to do with the line art and deciding for sure if I want to add genderfae colors to my ace fish. Probably brighten up the fish splashes. But other than that, the overall design is done. I don't see anything I want to change. Nothing feels off or anomalous to me.
I'm going to sleep on this and see how I feel tomorrow, but I think after the final polish we're officially done.
