A piece I did to properly introduce my 3 Laff-a-Lympics fan characters, Minnie Bear for the Yogi Yahooeys (who also doubles as a Help! ... It's the Hair Bear Bunch! character), Fiona Barkley for the Scooby Doobies (who also doubles as a Hong Kong Phooey character), and Guy Hunter for the Really Rottens.

I based this off of issues #1 and #5 of the Laff-a-Lympics comics, with the interview question about winning coming the first issue and the panel layout coming from the fifth. (Both reference panels will under the cut.) I also attempted to draw in Hanna-Barbera style with this.

These three end up joining the Laff-a-Lympics as a ratings gimmick method of keeping the games fresh by adding new team members. Minnie won a scouting contest of sorts, Fiona was doing it as a favor to Mildew Wolf (and also as an opportunity to meet Hong Kong Phooey), and Guy joined so he could sabotage The Great Fondoo.

Laff-a-Lympics Participation Rankings

Rankings of how often each team member participated in events in Laff-a-Lympics, organized by team and from most to least often.

There were 103 events in total. Only players who were directly involved in the event were counted as participating, including players who were not necessarily direct participants but were still necessary for the event to happen. All players automatically received four points towards the count due to the four team events where everyone was a participant.

Full rankings under the cut, but the summary of the major results are as follows:

For the Yogi Yahooeys, the player who participated the most often was Grape Ape with 24 events, and the player who participated the least often was Blabber with 7 events.

For the Scooby Doobies, the player who participated the most often was Captain Caveman with 23 events, and the player who participated the least often was Hong Kong Phooey with 8 events.

For the Really Rottens, the player who participated the most often was Daisy Mayhem with 24 events, and the player who participated the least often was Junior Creeply with 9 events.

Bruh so i just realized how underpowered the really rottens are compared to the other 2 teams. Like the scooby doobies have two superheros, a robot dog, a fucking genie, a sentient car, a dog who know martial arts and ultrainstinct shaggy. The yogi yahooeys have a FUCKING KAIJU. The most physically powerful rotten was dinky who is nothing compared to great ape or captain caveman. And dont even get me started on their equipment bruh. You know that millionaire art collector Blue Falcon was funding the scooby doobies hence why they always had the best equipment, the yogi team had their acting jigs that let the dough flow, the really rottens equiptment is most likely made by them using pieces of scrap or old and patched up and about to fall apart. There's something admirable about these slimeballs scrappiness, despite being poorly funded and lacking any special abilities the other teams have, they still put up a good fight and find ways to win even if the methods arent the most honest and if they get themselves disqualified all the time. Its literally a girl and her pet pig from bumfuck nowhere USA, a birthday magician, an ex detective dog, a man with a fucking broom hat, a family and their 8 year old and their pet octopus, and some fatass cowboys against a group of furries and their kaiju best friend and a group of superheros, crimefighters,mystery solvers, a cyborg, an AI car and a fucking genie.

Something i find kind of amusing in the HB verse is how the lore implys that there is a sorcerer secret/underground society and that in order to be a sorcerer you got to have a pencil stache or a handlebar mustache(which is thicker than DDs and DBs). Like Fondoo, Vincent Van Ghoul and his ancestors as well a Mortifer plus others i probably overlooked follow these rules and even tho they will probably never meet in any future HB projects, its kind of amusing how they kept that as a continuity. Most likely just lazy character design but I like my explanation better.

Look, HB, I get it. Ya needed some quick one time villians to make up your bad guy team for your crossover olympics au fanfic. Ya also needed bad guys that wouldn't provoke the merciless rage of copyright lawyers so you took two bad guys and shuffled them up a bit to make new characters. The least you could have done was not make the artstyles contrast so much, it makes the scoob movie look like an absolute masterpiece.

Also, there are two mustache dudes (3 counting the creepy dude). You can't overdo the staches.

The Great Fondoo and this camel have exactly the same kind of temperament. I find it almost incredible how the two of them don’t get along! This camel would make for a great Rotten!
