I wanted to point something out for the fandom. Disclaimer: This is not attacking anyone specifically but I just wanted to point out the inconsistencies.

Since there are more fanfic writers than before, I think the fandom should be trying to express a little more love. It means a lot to us when you leave a like and comment or reblog with your thoughts on the piece we post. A few of us are being especially praised with high notes, but not the majority. Some of us have been here a long time and still don't get much recognition.

I keep seeing bouts where so many fics are posted and then a few days may pass without these posts and someone is complaining "Where are the fics?" Please scroll just a little bit down. Or better yet, if you don't want to go down the general TIG tag, maybe look up "the inheritance games fanfiction", "tig fanfiction", etc. These can quickly give you results.

These posts are discouraging because it is disparaging to works already posted and MANY of them have very little views. In a poll I did recently, I saw the post type most people preferred was fanfiction. If this is the case, then I beg you, PLEASE leave SOMETHING on those fics. As small as a like is enough to let the writer know that at least their work is appreciated and that can make their day.

I hope many of you realize that even though these creative works are something we desperately want to supplement to the community for pleasure reading, it is still incredibly difficult at times to move forward due to writer's block, lack of motivation, busy scheduling, etc. Some may have the gift of being able to quickly finish works and be fairly consistent in their posts but even they can have those days.

Going unappreciated after a tiny sentence post gets hundreds of notes can be very hard to swallow especially after all that hard work was poured into a beautiful story. Now, I know that we as fanfic writers give up our work for reading and critique which doesn't mean you owe us anything but if you're already going to read it, would it kill you to give us a like or a bit of feedback? And if you just want to read, then please let us know if you're interested in being on a tag list at least.

It can help us improve our quality of work and keep us going as we try to expand the impressive world of the series we love so much.

So…That Night in Prague…

WHAT IS THIS? HAS THE REAL AVERY GRAMBS EVER SOUNDED LIKE THIS? WHAT IS WITH ALL THE ANNOYING REPETITIVE TEMPTATION/SEDUCTION STUFF?

AND WHY IS SHE THINKING ABOUT JOINING HIM IN THE SHOWER? I’m sorry, I just can’t see her in that way. Maybe she is, but until now she had never EVER had thoughts like these. AND WE HAD A WHOLE TRILOGY IN HER POV. WHAT IS THIS WIZARDRY, JLB?

And there are some really serious things I can’t even imagine and I always have images playing out in my brain while reading :)) What in the world is with all this horny stuff? I get it, romance means spicy things for some people, but in this case LOVE IS POWER, not LUST IS POWER!!!! Do you want me to understand from these moments that THIS is how A HAWTHORNE MAN LOVES? What is with those phrases about touches, about world knows what other things?!

They sound like 30 year-olds sexually obsessed adults. (Sorry, but I can’t say it nicer) but actually SHE IS EIGHTEEN AND HE IS NINETEEN!

Anyway, I’m very disappointed by this. I love AveryJameson to bits and they were made dirty, again. Jlb showed me nothing new about how Jameson Hawthorne loves. In TBH and here, I get from her that Jameson is capable only of freaky things and he loves to be freaky with Avery. And I know he’s not like that. Look in the original trilogy for proof. Maybe she knows too cuz they are her characters, but she clearly forgot how to write romance between them. Also, Jameson should eat, cuz he’s still hungry all the time:)) feed the man!!!!

EXCEPTION—THE PROMISE RING SCENE WHICH WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING AND I LOVED IT😭😭😭WAS VERY CUTE😭😭

The last chance to read something beautiful that really means LOVE IS POWER between my favourite couple and it was a disaster! On to the next stories which I think are better!

for avery's first few birthdays that they were together, it was always hard for jameson to not think about emily but after a couple of years he practically forgot about it and got more comfortable

the first time that jameson told her that he loved her he actually got really anxious and was stressing about it for days until they finally sat down and talked about it

sometimes he would find her crying after they fought and he would literally break down because of how bad he felt for making her cry

really early in their relationship she would sometimes find him alone and drunk during gala's and stuff and she would have to take him home early and take care of him

even though he would be drunk he would feel so bad for ruining her night and start apologizing over and over again (so where's the fic?)

sometimes he would just get hurt and she would get really stressed and try to help him with his injuries

she sometimes gets really nervous around paparazzi and in interviews so sometimes jameson interjects when he notices that she doesn't feel good

when they first started dating she would apologize for everything even if she didn't do anything wrong

the media comes up with a lot of rumors about jameson and her, sometimes even things as bad as him cheating on her and they always have to check and make sure the other is feeling okay after reading those things

one of the things that he's good at is distractions so whenever she would have a panic attack he would distract her and make her laugh so she could feel better

he always hands out with her on the anniversary of her mom's death and make sure that no one else talks to her so she can just take the day off (even if she doesn't want to take the day off herself)

the first time they fought avery stayed in her room the whole time after and cried until libby told jameson that and he went and made up with her

he always defends her in arguments even though he doesn't understand what anyone's talking about half of the time

whenever they argue he buys her gifts and leaves them for her before going and apologizing in person

avery always thinks that their arguments are her fault so she always tries to apologize first but he beats her to it

Okay, so I’ve seen some people post about how they think that the age difference is a little questionable between Lyra and Grayson. One of the most brought up things is when in the Brothers Hawthorne he said to Gigi that he would not date anyone her age.

Now this might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t really think the age gap is that drastic (like they are like what 3 years apart). And if you think about it in the Brothers Hawthorne when Grayson said that he would not date someone Gigis age he was like 20 and Gigi was like 17. Therefore, I interpreted this to mean that he just wasn’t going to date anyone under the age of 18 at his current age, not that he was uninterested in any girls that where a few younger than him. And yes I know that Lyra is either the same age as Gigi or a little younger but I think that it’s a different situation because in this scenario both Grayson and Lyra are adults.

lyra keeps finding more and more evidence of what the hawthornes did to her father, drawing her away from grayson.

grayson keeps getting warned by family (prob alice), people who knew lyras father, etc. that being affiliated with lyra was a bad choice (kind of like how it was with corio’s grandma and also casca highbottom)

lyra feels that all this evidence is a sign that having any affiliations with the hawthornes is a bad bad idea, and we already see some of these realizations grow throughout the grandest game.

but grayson, on the other hand, is determined to (ignore the haters 😊) prove their accusations wrong, and still feels drawn to lyra no matter what.

i know that this seems like a copy of hannah x toby, but i really want a sort of lucy gray x coriolanus “haunting the narrative” type love that has a bit of hannah x toby in it. although knowing jlb, if she attempts to lead this plot line on, it’s just going to be a carbon copy of hannah and toby’s love story 😪

i want this kind of love. i want lyra to feel at odds with him. i want grayson to understand this, but love her anyway.

i want him to have to make a choice between losing her or loving her, and instead of making the same choice toby did, i want grayson to choose to love her despite it being the more selfish choice, because he is selfish and he wants her. I WANT THAT!!! PLEASE!!

One thing I think this fandom needs more of: don’t be afraid to say what you think about a character and to stick by your opinion. Being open-minded is important to see the different sides of a character, even one you love a lot, and understanding why there is a dislike or hatred towards them but you don’t have to apologize for your thoughts. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, to keep it if they wish or to change it as they see fit.

Rant time

hey guys! I have decided to come out of Hiatus for a minute to talk about something that people on here seem to forget about, and that is everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I fully understand that most people on here are Lyra defenders, and that's fine. But totally degrading other people because YOU don't like THEIR opinion is not ok.

From what I have gathered is that Pinterest and Reddit is the culprit for these hideous claims to the oh wonderful Lyra. Well guess what? They are allowed to say whatever they want and if you don't like it, well it's on you.

Now, before you start coming at me, I am NOT saying you are not entitled to your own opinion. You are. But practically tearing apart someone, because they are voicing how they feel about a character they don't care for, isn't right.

Let's disagree. Let's say what how we feel. We can. But let's not tear others down because they feel differently than you do.

Quite frankly, I don't care for Lyra. I do think she has issues, but I also am hoping JB will address this and make her a good character.

I am expecting angry words in the comments, all I ask is that you are respectful of me. I have made my opinion, you can as well. Politely.
