#there’s several different layers of wrong here#a) how does one ‘do diversity’ improperly?#my answer to that would be by using minority candidates to further the bigoted agenda and avoid being labelled as racist for it#which is precisely what the tories are doing here#b) she is LITERALLY ENDORSED BY BRITAIN FIRST.#also known as the antithesis of ‘doing diversity properly’#c) ‘fresh thinking and fresh tone’ no it’s not it’s just recycled conservatism transphobia and anti-green policy we’ve all seen it before#the major difference is that now the tories andd/or brit first can say ‘no we’re not racist we endorsed a black woman for pm’#d) ‘new generation of voters’ with the implication that they will vote tory#i am a classics student at st andrews yet i don’t know a single person my age that would vote tory#i’m sure they exist but they’re damn rare even in such a field as this#uk politics
