the subtle yellowy-green tone they used for some scenes in The Passenger plus the overcast weather seen throughout the film reminds me of the green skies you can sometimes see before a tornado. And then when the tornado passes and you step outside and everything is so quiet again and all that remains is the devastation it left in its concentrated wake. Some buildings completely gone while others are left untouched. That’s how Benson exited Randy’s life. He tore things down to be rebuilt while leaving other parts intact.
(this tornado loves you by neko case is on my benson playlist how you could you tell? lol. i’m actually working on an edit with that song and clips from the movie shhh 🤫)
