to be completely honest... i think so many problems that plague fandoms would be solved if people remembered the concept of headcanons and accepted it for what it is
#life#just like.. the constant race to have the most 'correct' opinion#the running to devs/writers/VAs for validation#the constant infighting over how one interprets a character#the need to find 'proof' no matter what to support your opinion#sometimes it ain't that deep lmao#it's ok to hc things that are literally so out there it's never touching canon whatsoever#strip away the cringe of crack stuff#sure not to be confused with meta posts and analyses but like#i feel like we've gotten to the point where those two concepts got conflated#and people write enormously long posts with 'evidence' to support what is essentially still a HC#at the end of the day#this is not prompted by anything specific#just me being in fandoms and observing for years
