RECOLORS for TS2

Hellooooooo :33 I recently uploaded screenshots with some recolors I made, actually, they are the first recolors I made for The Sims 2, and I saw that many of you liked them!! So I decided to go ahead and here I bring you the recolors of said publication + one I made right now.

The meshes belong to the game (TS2 Ultimate Collection) so you should not download anything other than the recolors.

Bigger Birdcage

This one proved trickier than I expected, but I hope it's already better than the ingame one! The footprint is not perfect, because it's only a tiny bit bigger than two tiles 🙈 Anyway, I added some enrichments too, the ball thingy is from a 3t2 conversion by Delonariel, and the rest is ingame stuff or well, your textures 😅 Otherwise, it's repo'd to the normal birdcage, so the Pets EP is required of course!

This dress was so cute, but way too short, so I made it a lot longer! I thought it would be perfect for Mel ❤ (well, I hope at least 😅). For teens, adults, and elders, they have the appropriate morphs. They come in the original 6 plain colors and for some reason I made a sole green one? Idk. So there are 7 colors! 3t2 shoes are by Skeleton-teacup, with recolors by well... you too (am I just remixing your own stuff here? 😅). As usual, you can choose if you want the other ages repo'd to the AF files, or not :)

Cellphone Default: RECOLORABLE Moto Razr V3

💥💥‼️THIS IS FOR THE SIMS *2*‼️💥💥

This idea came on super suddenly, but I wanted it so much I kept trying at it until I got it. It wouldn't have been possible without @loonyjelly helping me create the recolorable default file, as my attempts had me crashing the game lol.

The mesh and base textures are the work of mohd14 on MTS.

All I did was edit the Motorola brand name, the screen/UI, and the letters on the numpad so that they would be in simlish. Mohd14 made 9 colors of the Motorola Razr V3, so those 9 are included, plus I set up a PSD file for easy recolors, so there's a 10th recolor included that I made (the red one).

In addition to the PSD, I've also included transparent PNGs of all 10 recolors. The transparent part is the wallpaper/background on the phone screens (front & back), so you can add in any picture you want with the little network/battery/UI symbols remaining where they are!

just in the nick of time, i have a little bday gift for the sims 2 community! <3 more info and download under the cut!

-first is 8 recolors of the maxis Beckoning Cat sculpture. I used the gold texture from @pforestsims 's terracotta set as the base texture for the cat. Cat has maxis eyes and windkeeper's cat mouth. I added extra shading and recolored in 8 of poppet's forever palette colors.

then four beddings I made trying out a new bedding texture I was putting together. I combined poppet's edited maxis bedding texture, the maxis quilted bedding texture, and the pinstripes from hysterical paroxysms bedding textures at mts. Fabric patterns are from ruby star fabrics.

six recolors of nengi65 big rug, the rugs are from chairish. I forgot to include the mesh im sorry but its easy to find! edit: here is a link to the rug and HL's add-ons

some recolors of the maxis mr badger painting, and I also included a PSD template with the circle cutout thing on its own layer with a shadow so it is faster and more fun to recolor :)

This is my response to this post by @goatskickin - a second version. That's the best way to desaturate hair texture or other stuff with alpha transparency ( thanks @paluding).

Desaturate or Hue/Saturation often makes textures crunchy.

You'll get best results if you create plain black layer and set blend mode to Color. Adjust Opacity as needed. In case of alpha stuff you also need to create Clipping mask.

When doing color actions on hair textures (or anything else) - if Hue/Saturation adjustment layer step does -83 Saturation (for example), instead you can do what I described above and set black layer Opacity to 83%.

Also, use SimPE to build textures as DXT5, do not rely on Bodyshop 'cuz it will always f*ck it up.

Colorful beddings! These are in most of @pluto-sims' colour of magic patterns. Because they're very cute! There are 40 beddings overall. Made with CuriousB's bedding kit as usual :)

4t2 Star Cool - Guys Bicycle - Rcs.

The file contains:

☆ 42 recolors, 21 with stars and the other 21 without stars;

☆ 4t2 mesh by Michelle;

☆ a preview.

The mesh was originally found in Buy Mode - Decorative - sculptures, however I edited it so that it is found in Miscellaneous - Vehicles (it remains in Buy Mode).

I am providing two links for you to choose your preference, there is the merged file and the other is not (both compressed). Note: The file before being merged, was compressed.

MP3 Player Default: RECOLORABLE iPod Nano

Back in the 2000s, I had an iPod Nano, and although there have been iPod defaults before, they were only the original model. Plus it wasn't recolorable. But now there's both things, together!

I'm not that great at file/mesh stuff, so I used Graverobber's default as a base since it was already recolorable. Then @annachibi helped by editing the mesh so that the screen fit the texture I wanted to use.

There's 2 recolorable parts: The iPod itself, and the screen.

(The swatches inside the .zip folder are labeled with filenames)

I guess I felt like being thorough with this, so I made every single color that was released for iPod Nano generations 2 through 5.

Generation 1 was skipped because it didn't come in any colors lol.

I skipped generations 6 & 7 because the last time I owned an iPod was before those existed :P

Some of the colors are very very similar to each other, especially the reds & pinks, but they were just different enough that I kept both.

Plus idk, maybe you prefer Gen 2 pink over Gen 3 pink (or vice versa), now you can choose either one :)

I've also included PSDs of both the iPod and the screen so you can easily create more colors. One thing to note however, is that the screen part is... Weird.

This seems to just be how the MP3 player functions as an object, but there's both a "lit" and "unlit" image for the screen. The thing is, it flips between these 2 images every few seconds, regardless of whether a sim is using it or it's just sitting on the floor.

Graverobber's default combined these 2 images into one texture file, so the "lit" and "unlit" images are next to each other, but that means they've both been squished. The screen is so tiny however that I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

For my screen recolors, I put an exact duplicate of the image on both the "lit" and "unlit" parts of the texture. It flips back & forth between the 2 so frequently I couldn't think of anything better to do with it.

If you use my PSD to recolor the screen, after you make your image, you'll have to shrink & squish it to fit on the actual screen texture. I thought it would be easier to make recolors if it hadn't been squished yet.

a teeny tiny offering based on the fact that i love the desk from ja's amelia's followers add-on set, but there aren't any computers that place well on the desk without crazy clipping. So I made an invisible recolor of the base game economy desk (shown here using hugelunatics 1 tile add-on) so that you can place cc desks based on where the computer is and not deal with so much clipping.

Remix Skinblend in Trapping's Natural Tones!

Here are some natural recolors of Annachibi's Remix Supernatural Skins. The original is an edit of Whysim's Skin 31.

Like the originals, this skinset is for all ages, elders have wrinkles, and adults/teens have fitness states. There are 12 natural Trapping tones included. I didn't include Trapping's supernatural colors (except the Galaxy Quest default) because the original set is full of great options on that front.

The skin comes in three versions: Custom, Geneticized+Townified and Defaults. Default tones are the following: Light Rose (S1), Sunkissed (S2), Sunheat (S3), and Moonlit Night (S4). The genetic scale for the geneticized set is based around those defaults. I've also included the base tone in the geneticized file.

Update 9/13/2024: There was a weird property set in the custom and gen/town skins affected the scalps of young adult female sims. Please redownload.
