This was a fun idea that I was encouraged to do. So, I hope all you Buffy fanfic writers enjoy this idea! Please reply to this with any fics or work that the prompts inspire!

Faith didn’t have a lot of options for places to comfortably loiter in avoidance of returning home. Her mother was between jobs (read: got wicked fired) and was spending every night in the arms of Jack, Jim, or Jameson if she was feeling internationally inspired. It left Faith to fend for herself, which she didn’t mind as much when her teacher was in town. British chick, training her in self-defense and ways to fight the undead.

Oh yeah, ‘cuz there were vampires in the Valley.

But Faith wasn’t supposed to kill them. Not yet. Not unless some other girl with superpowers bit the big one and the universe decided it was her turn. So she didn’t go looking for trouble she couldn’t handle. To anyone else, the idea of slaying would sound like a fantasy. A joke. Another reason for bullies like Dutch and his goons to pick on the new kid after school (as hard as she tried to present a cool, disaffected exterior).

“Don’t you mouth-breathers have anything better to do right now?” She tightened her grip on her book bag as the boys approached. “I hear you guys like to get real sweaty at night and practice your positions. All that gruntin’ and touchin’ - yeah, real manly stuff behind closed doors.”

TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANTS

Greetings, everyone, our contestants have been finalized, and I want to provide a certain opportunity before the preliminaries begin. Namely, to provide additional propaganda for competitors in need of it. So, I have created a form to collect this new propaganda, and a list of both preliminary and non-preliminary participants under the cut. An asterisk next to a name indicates they have fewer than three pieces of propaganda, which is the amount that will be included in each poll. This form will be open for the duration of the tournament. You can make as many submissions you want for any character.

NOTE: The order of participants does not reflect the bracket matchups. Preliminary matchups will be announced next week, and the complete bracket will be announced after the preliminary round is finished.

UPDATE: Additional characters have been added in bold because I failed to fill out the bracket by counting incorrectly. One has been added to the preliminary round, and the others are regular competitors.

Oh, this is a hard one. 20+ years in fandom means that I have have several all-time favourite ships.

When I was a kid, I loved Takari from Digimon 01/02. Back when I was into crossovers, specially with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my favourite crossover ship was Legolas/Buffy... And I guess it still is?

I guess nowadays my main ship is Emsider, from Dishonored. There's not many of us, but it's fun, :D

I'm not a native English speaker. English exams in high school always had a question where you had to write about something/a story and it had to be between 100 and 200 words.

Anyway, I'm good at writing drabbles.

I'm good at writing drabbles. As in "when I write a section of a story that section is always around 100 words and I blame my English teachers".

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'm not a fan unless it's random words and expressions in a made up language. Mostly because people tend to use languages that I actually know and I can tell that the phrase makes no sense.

Who is [your character]?

spike is always changing and evolving as a character , from the wide - eyed hopeful william and his awful poetry , to the infamously bloodthirsty vampire spike , to reluctant ally to the slayer . spike is truly a free spirit , only acting on what he wants when he wants it .

What is their goal? Whether it’s saving the world or graduating college, short term or long term, what is your character looking for?

saving the world , though not for the noble reasons that others may be using .

When was this goal chosen? What triggered this goal? Was it an external event or internal?

since his complicated relationship with buffy and the rest of humanity , his desire to be good ( or at least , less bad ) has taken over his need for control and chaos . being around the scooby gang has definitely affected his personality .

Where do they go from here? This could be either your muses future plans, or it could be answered ooc with what you would like to do with your muse and their plots.

spike is currently trying to navigate his confusing , conflicting feelings for buffy , as well as his budding friendships with the rest of the gang , especially dawn who reminds him so much of his own baby sister who lived such a short time . i want him to have to face reality , to own up to the bad things he's done , and to truly decide to stand on the good side of history .

spike is and has always been a writer by heart , so he's always dropping these actually bomb quotes about love and relationships and life and death . he's a drama queen , and would definitely be a theatre kid if he was born in more modern times . this quote just kills me everytime , because spike's need for chaos is really just a cover for the need to control things , so that people don't leave him or change .

Grown-ass woman like Faith shouldn’t have been out picking fights with drunks in a Reseda alleyway.

In her defense, she didn’t start it.

Bounty hunting took her all sorts of places, but she always had a soft spot for coming back to LA. Apart from the fond memories and friends (who themselves tended to drift these days), the city itself was full of interesting places. Trendy bars, every type of cuisine you could want, and plenty of weird museums. The beaches were alright, but Faith kept a late schedule and ended up oversleeping most sunny mornings. But nighttime? That was her time.

Was she supposed to be scrapping with these guys? Definitely not. But she couldn’t resist giving lip to big, bad biker dudes who thought they were tough shit in a leather package. “C’mon, man. Try harder- I’m three drinks deep and feel like we’re out here dancing,” she laughed, ducking a punch. ‘Talk shit, get hit’ could have been on her family crest, if the Lehanes were that fancy. But judging by the fact Faith was trying to knock this dude into a metal trash can full of half-eaten pizza... fancy need not apply.

“You’re not gonna call the cops,” the woman warned, throwing a roundhouse to her opponent’s side. “I got a real mean pout- and who do you think they’re gonna believe, hm?”

how they embody their trope:

(brief neglect mention tw) Facades, facades, facades. In hindsight, it’s a wonder her first words as a toddler hadn’t been scripted for her and pre-approved by the Astor PR team. She’s the only child of two lawyers - with her mother serving her second term as New York’s attorney general and her father ensuring that multi-million dollar corporations were able to skirt around their social, environmental and fiscal obligations. They’re not American royalty, not by any means, but the Astor name carries a certain weight, and her parents would sooner give up all their worldly possessions than let her forget it. It wasn’t her parents who brought her up, so much as their expectations. Perfect grades, perfectly behaved, perfectly aligned with their wants and needs. The Astors hadn’t really wanted a child. What they’d been in the market for was a trophy. Henrietta, by virtue of her upbringing, is a perfectionist. Nothing she ever did as a child was good enough for her parents (not that they’d ever say that, but she could sense it), and nothing she ever does as a young adult is enough to meet her own impossible standards. She’s spent considerable time and effort constructing a vision of herself that she feels comfortable portraying to others, a thin veneer to keep herself hidden from onlookers - a never-ending performance. And part of that was being Greer’s best friend. After all, you’re only as good as the company you keep. She’s yet to take an actual tumble, but with Greer missing, the paint job on the facade that is Henrietta is slowly starting to crack. It’s only a matter of time before it starts chipping, too. 

general personality: 

Were I to use one word to describe Henrietta, it would have to be sharp. It’s her defining characteristic - she’s all edges, all the time. Sharp wit, sharper tongue. At least that’s the curated version of her. The one you’d get to see. Beneath the high school mean-girl persona, behind the rolling eyes and raised brows, she’s genuine and vulnerable and has the capacity for care. But she’s been raised to believe that kindness is a weakness, something for others to exploit, and so she’s extinguished that flamed. Stubbed the embers into the ground with her foot. Because it’s easier to keep people at a comfortable distance this way. This way, they won’t get too close. They won’t be able to see her for the lonely, insecure person she’s tried so desperately to keep under wraps.

If there is such a thing as a universal truth, it is that teenage girls exercise cruelty rarely seen outside of cartoony depictions of hell. And if the Manolo-toting schemers of gossip girl were anything to go by, Manhattan girls were the absolute worst. Henrietta had thrown an uncharacteristic fit when her parents had broached the subject of moving (in the middle of the school year, no less) - tears wiped on the back of cashmere sleeves, voice choked with adolescent desperation. Were they trying to ostracise her from her peers? Ensure she’d stand out like a sore thumb? How did they expect her to find friends, when social hierarchies and cliques had already fully solidified by now? The answer to the latter was, unsurprisingly, Greer. Henrietta had hardly set foot on the grounds of her new alma mater, before Greer had linked elbows with her, flashed her a bright smile, and announced to anyone who’d listen that this, this was her best friend now. Maybe, she’d told herself as she returned home from that first day, moving hadn’t been such a bad idea after all. Ever since that first meeting, the two of them had been practically joined at the hip. If Greer was there, you could place a pretty safe bet that Henrietta was there. Joint birthday parties in their early teens, trips abroad over the summer holiday, secrets shared behind walk-in-closet doors. They were inseparable. It was the sort of friendship others looked at through either a lens of envy or aspiration. Or both. Perhaps that’s why Henrietta feels so guilty over how restricted she’d felt since traipsing in Greer’s footsteps all the way to Ogden. It wasn’t that she didn’t still love Greer in that platonic way a best friend does, because she really, really did, but college had just highlighted just how much her existence had been fashioned as an extension of Greer. It wasn’t like the power dynamic had ever been even, not even back in New York, but something about the new backdrop to their relationship had lit up its flaws like a starry night sky. Getting to bask in Greer’s light also meant existing in her shadow. It was always Greer, and then Henrietta, half a step behind. It was hard not to feel like an afterthought. Everything she does is with the express intent of getting their approval, and yet, she’s never so much as gotten a nod in recognition. Everything she achieves, her brother (four years her senior) has already done. And better at that. During her formative years, they were too concerned with getting Evangeline elected as attorney general to let their children be children. And now they’re too concerned with getting her re-elected to see the damage that did to them.
