OOO I have another one that came to me in a dream! Basically the kingdom yn lives in hosts a ball which anyone can attend and yn let's say they're a maid/Butler attends and shadow milk (I'm obsessed with him right now) asks them for a dance and as they're chatting while dancing the yn notices that shadow milk knows a bit more about them than he should and as the dancing goes on he becomes more dominant practically not letting yn step in their own two cookie feet! And as the music stops a dread suddenly dread enters the dance floor and the only thing yn remembers happening after that is shadow milk leaning down to their shoulder and whispering something before they passed out.

" You father explicitly forbade you from going to the ball tonight! if he recognizes you there then I fear you may never leave your room again!" " He can't just expect me to miss out on every important social event until he deems me 'worthy enough to be queen'!" You argue back, already grabbing your masquerade mask and dress. " Besides, my mask is enchanted! There's no way he'll know it's me." You said, holding up your supposedly enchanted mask. " I wasn't aware of how far you planned this... to even sneaking out to purchase a dress for the ball beforehand." Your advisor mumbled in an exasperated manner, you simply just nodded along with their words. Truthfully, you'd gotten the dress and mask as a secret gift upon your windowsill one day. you'd originally planned to sneak out as a waiter... but actually partaking in the festivities sounded a lot more fun. " Oh calm down Crab Claw Cookie," You giggled. " It'll all be fine, I'm still a queen-to-be no matter what my father says. I am his only child after all, and it's not like anyone will be marrying him anytime soon." You spoke with a dismissive wave of your hand, you could still feel Crab Claw Cookie's worried eyes upon you, but you'd be fine, right? Plus, there was that odd dream you had a few days ago. A strange, shadowy cookie had appeared in the darkness, offering to give you your freedom in exchange for what you valued most. You had accepted, not thinking much of it at the time, but now that you thought about it... the dress had appeared once you woke up. And then there was the fact he'd said that he'd come to collect the other part of the deal at a later date. You shook your head, you should just continue to get ready. You have a night of freedom to attend to!

The ball was in full swing, and yet here you were sitting off to the side. Why weren't you on the dance floor dancing away with the other cookies? Simple, you were completely unprepared for this kind of event! Because of your father and his overbearing nature, he never allowed you to attend any social events when you were younger. You must have gotten so used to your isolation that you had no idea how to actually interact with real people...! Crab Claw Cookie's social interaction simulations paled in comparison to the real thing... And maybe you were scared of your father noticing and recognizing you in the crowd. In short, you were completely lost. " Oh?" You here a voice speak, and looking next to you you can see a Cookie in quite the fancy blue and black suit, his white and blue haired mostly combed back into a sophisticated style while some covered his left eye. The eye that was uncovered was a rather nice shade of blue, like the ocean illuminated by the light of the full moon, or perhaps a blue moon? The mysterious cookie smiled at you, and you took note that it was rather cat-like. " What's a lovely girl like you doing over here on your own? Shouldn't you be having fun and dancing like the rest of the cookies here?" He asked with a tilt of his head, the playful grin never leaving his face for a moment. You hesitated before you let out a sigh, deciding to air your grievances to the stranger. Because isn't everyone a stranger at a masquerade ball? And yet, there was something familiar about him... " It's just that... I've never had the chance to go to a proper ball before. And now that I'm here, I have no idea what to do..." " Is that so?" The cookie mused with a hum, soon extending his hand after a moment. " Well, why not come dance with me? I can show you the ropes if you don't know how~" He offered, his expectant gaze imploring you to take his hand. So, and almost without question, you place your hand in his. Letting him lead you to the dance floor. The waltz was pretty simple, the music changing to signify that the current song was meant to be waltzed to. You knew how to waltz, but you still let him take the lead despite the fact that you( if only slightly) were the taller of your pair. It wouldn't hurt to strike some quiet conversation, right?

" It's so... odd." You mutter, your soft words having caught the ear of the cookie you were dancing with. " Hm? What is?" He asked, staring up into your masked eyes. Something about his gaze felt as if he were searching your very soul... But that was just a weird feeling, it was nothing. " It's just that..." You look down at your feet, yet a subtle movement from your partner caused you to make eye contact with him once again. " Who are you? I feel like I've seen you somewhere before..." You mumbled to the amusement of the other. " My dear Little Star, are we not at a masquerade ball? We aren't supposed to know who the other attendees are." He said with a chuckle, leading you further into the dance. You felt like you've heard someone call you that before, but where? You aren't sure. Are you even dancing anymore? It feels more like you're being puppeteered. You took a quick glance around, you weren't sure if the people watching you were anything more than shadows. " Princess," your partner begins, and your attention snapped back to him almost instantly like a dog hearing their favorite toy squeak. " You do know that you should keep your eyes on your partner while you're dancing, right~?" He hummed with a light giggle, taking your hands in his own. The music has stopped, in fact, you weren't even sure when it had. The entire ballroom was blanketed in shadows, the people you saw no more than silhouettes painted with glowing blue eyes. You felt like you were dreaming, hell, even your eyelids felt heavy as you continued to sway to the command of your partner. Soon enough, you lost your footing, collapsing into the other cookie's arms as you struggled to stay conscious. You could hear the cookie let out a slow, almost villainous chuckle. " Oh princess~ I've come for your half of the bargain~" He purred into your ear, leaving that as the last thing you heard before passing out.

" Sire! Terrible news!" A pair of castle knights hollered, interrupting the king's morning. Reader Cookie hadn't even bothered to come down for dinner the prior night, even though he ended the ball early just to make time for her. If she kept up this pettiness then she would never be fit for the role of queen. " Yes?" He gruffly spoke, " Get on with it. Has another rebel group formed to usurp my throne? Is it an escaped Prisoner? It doesn't matter, we can handle all of those things." He said with a dismissive wave of his hand. " You don't understand sire!" The other knight cut in, stepping in front of the first knight. " It's Reader Cookie, she's gone missing!" It was as if a fuse had gone off inside the king's head. " WHAT!?" He yelled, almost spitting out his coffee. " What are you standing around for? Find her immediately! Her misbehavior will not be tolerated in this kingdom!" He barked out the order, with the knights saluting him and immediately running off to get to work. He slumped back into his throne, Reader Cookie was well above the age to know that her behavior was vastly unfit to be queen. Then, he heard it, that witches forsaken giggle that slowly turned into a cackle. " My my! It seems like your little princess has run off, your majesty!" The voice the laughter belonged to said in a mocking tone, with a certain jester stepping out from the shadows. " What a shame, truly!" " Shadow Milk Cookie." The king hissed, glaring at the jester with searing hatred. " You should know that you, nor any of the other beasts, are not welcome in this or any other kingdom!" He hollered, pointing directly at the beast. " Oh, your coldness wounds my heart..." He sighed dramatically, putting a hand over wherever his heart was supposed to be. " But, if you're going to be so rude, then I might as well just... not tell you what's happened to Reader Cookie." He smiled smugly, knowing that the King was falling right into his trap. " You! What have you done to my daughter?!" The king roared with frustration, which only caused Shadow Milk to laugh even more. " I swear, if you've hurt her then-!" " Then what?" Shadow Milk said with a sickening grin. " What will you do, your majesty? You and I both know that you've cared more about your kingdom than you do her, you just want her back because she's the only blood heir to the throne." He cackled at the revelation, and the horror dawning upon the king's face. " But if you want to prove me wrong... Then give up your kingdom, and I'll make sure she's safely returned." He proposed, eyes glinting with delight as he saw the hesitation in the king's stance. Oh how he loved to watch as cookies tried to decipher whether he was telling them the truth or not, not a single one had managed to catch him in a lie before it was already far too late. Such are the perks of practically embodying deceit, he supposed. He turned on his heel, waving goodbye to the king. " I'll give you a day to think it over. Either give up your kingdom and have your daughter returned to you... Or fail her for the last time, and live with the guilt." He left without another word, fading back into the shadows.

Hairy Situation - Hook Imagine (Part 2)

I know I said part 2 would be smutty, but I decided to leave the smut for part 3. 🙊 I hope to have it up this weekend though 😁

Throughout the show, you were feeling more giddy as the night went on and your friends were starting to notice. You weren't entirely focused during your march against Penelope Ford, but you still managed to get the win.

Anna Jay nudged you as you smiled at your phone looking at the pictures Hook had just posted. "Ooo looks like we have a new AEW power couple forming." Tay Conti scurried over and sees your screen before patting you on the shoulder. "I knew our girl would catch him someday." You shake your head blushing "Don't get carried away yet, our first date is tonight and I don't need to be more nervous." The girls look at each other and squeal quickly before they each grab one of your arms and they drag you to your dressing room.

Once the door is shut, they start asking too many questions for you to answer all at once. You put your hands out and grab their shoulders. "Girls, you know I love you, but I can't answer a hundred questions per second." They nod and Anna pipes up "So when did he ask you out?" You smile "Just a couple hours ago. We were hanging out and I was playing with his hair and Ricky told me he doesn't let anyone do that. So when he came back and he showed me those new pictures I wasn't able to hide my feelings very well and..." Tay throws her hands around dramatically "and...what?" You whisper "He kissed me and then asked me out." They smirk and hug you "We're so happy for you Y/N! It's true though that he rarely lets people touch his hair, so I bet you already hold a special place in his heart." You blush and nod at Tay before finding your stuff and searching for clothes for tonight.

"All he said was 'You. Me. Dinner. Tonight.' So I'm assuming we will probably end up at a diner or something so I'll just wear something casual." Anna hums in agreement before she spots a black lace bra and thong combo. "You have to wear that just in case things get frisky." You roll your eyes and scoff at her "Do you really think I'd give it up that quickly?" Tay shrugs and adds in "Based on the look on your face when you were looking at the pictures, it's only a matter of time before you pounce." You gasp and lightly hit Tay in the arm as you all laugh "Well he does have the sexy mysterious vibe, so I guess it's best to be prepared."

The girls hang out with you for a bit longer discussing the date along with their own love lives. Eventually, you get a text from Hook asking if you are ready to head out, so you quickly check your appearance in the mirror before grabbing your stuff and saying goodbye to the girls. Anna hugs you "You better tell us everything tomorrow Y/N!" Tay giggles behind her before hugging you as well "That is if she can walk tomorrow." You roll your eyes and walk away from them before you blush too much.

You walk down the hall and see Hook leaning against the wall facing away from you, so you try to sneak up on him. "Surprise!" Hook doesn't even flinch as you grab him and turn him around to face you. He smiles at you and hugs you quickly before kissing your forehead and leading you to his car. On the way, you stay relatively quiet as he walks close to you and locks his pinky with yours. He opens your car door and puts your stuff in the trunk before getting in the driver's seat. "So where should we go for dinner?" You pull up Google Maps and find an IHOP close to the hotel you are staying at. He agrees and you help him navigate the streets of whatever town you are in.

"I saw your match tonight. You seemed out of it at times, but you still kicked Penelope's ass!" You smile and nod "Yeah, I guess I let my nerves get the best of me." He turned to look at you at a red light. "Why were you nervous? You've had a lot of really good matches." You shake your head "No, I was nervous about dinner. I know I shouldn't be, but after you kissed me my brain fogged over a bit." Hook smiles and places his right hand on your knee "I am nervous too sweetheart. I don't want to mess up what we have already. But right now it's just us and you are safe with me Y/N."

Hook pulls the car into the IHOP parking lot and you both go in and have a nice dinner. You try not to stare daggers at the waitress when she tried flirting with Hook right in front of you. However, Hook was sweet enough to reach over and hold your hands as you waited for the food, occasionally leaving kisses on the back of your hands and winking at you as the waitress walks by and groans lightly. The food comes and you talk about a few things here and there trying to get to know each other better. Eventually, you are both full, so you try to pay, but Hook smiles "I've got you babe." You smile at the nickname and reply "Fine but I'm paying next time." He smirks "So there is going to be a next time?" You stutter a bit before responding "Unless you now find me repulsive?" He shakes his head "Absolutely not, I'm just starting to discover even more reasons to like you." You smile and wait as he finishes paying and then offers you his hand "M'lady?" You blush a bit and take his hand following him out to the car.

The car ride back to the hotel was short and you could feel yourself getting nervous as he parked and helped you grab your stuff. Hook offers to carry everything, but you insisted you can handle your suitcase and backpack. You walk into the hotel and find yourselves waiting on the elevator in nervous silence. A door opens and Hook gestures for you to go in first and then he follows in and pushes the button for his floor. You grab his hand and smile at him "I don't want this date to be over. Want to hang out in my room?" He smiles and leans over kissing your forehead "I'd love that." You nod and push the button for your floor and you play with his fingertips as you wait for the doors the open on the correct floor.

You both walk to your room and you open the door as Hook reaches over you to hold the door open. Your bags get put down and you take off your shoes before settling onto the bed patting the spot next to you. Hook smiles and joins you on the bed grabbing the TV remote on the way. You can't help but stare at his dimples as he smiles and blushes looking away from you. You turn on the TV, but you can't focus on it as you think about the sexy man sitting next to you. You lean into him and he wraps his arm around your shoulders pulling you into his side. You lay a hand on his chest and sigh happily as you cuddle up and let your worries melt away.

Hook kisses the top of your head and says "I had a great time at dinner Y/N and thank you for inviting me to your room. I didn't want this date to end and I'm so happy to have you in my arms now." You smile and look him in the eye "Thank you for dinner and I'm glad you agreed to keep the date going. This feels so natural and relaxing especially after a show." You look at his lips quickly and lightly bite your lip before looking back up into his eyes. He smirks and uses his thumb the release your bottom lip before grabbing your chin and pulling you in for a sweet passionate kiss.

He could have kicked himself. He's finally seen the infamous Kaz Brekker without a stich of clothing, and he'd been too worried about ending up on a pike to pay proper attention.

ok i got a couple of things to say about this part

first of all it makes me so sad that jes cares so much for someone who dosn't deserve him. because no hate to kaz but they would never work as a couple and kaz already treats him like shit most of the time

i think this part shows who a lot about who jesper really is. a boy that grew up having to hide parts of himself, who thinks he's worth nothing but it's smart and capable, who's loyal and brave and caring but doesn't even know it himself. he's someone who feels he doesn't deserve good things and thinks he's not good enough, and that's why he unds up in all the wrong places with the wrong people. he left uni bc he fell in with the gangs, because he didn't think he was smart enough or even prepared to be in studying in the university. jesper is constantly hiding behind a mask or running from things because he's scared of not being enough

an kaz is everything jes in a way wishes he could be. kaz is secure in himself (at least on the outside), he's stable, he's smart, he's "unshakeable". and most of all, he doesn't care about others (we know that's not true but that's how he presents himself)

and that's the thing that causes jesper all his problems. because he's insecure because he thinks he's not good enough for the poeple or things he cares about. and he's always trying to do what's best for his loved ones: he went to the ice court to pay his debt for his father, he follows kaz everywhere beacause he cares about him, he offered to read to wylan (knowing it wouldn't be easy for him to be still that long).

and yeah it often doesn't work out becuase he's messy and he has problems but he tries. and he hates that. he hates that he cares so much about people because at the end of the day, that's what makes him feel like he's not good enough

one more thing and i'm done i promise

unpopular opinion but i love that leigh made jesper have a crush on kaz. 1 beacuse it's refreshing to see someone not get otgether with his first crush. and 2 because i love that it shows that we sometimes get attached to people that are not good for us, but that we can learn to move on. jesper ended with wylan who respects him and values him, unlike kaz

Sanzu always intrigued me since the moment he appeared in the manga and anime. He had a beautiful character designed and that attracted me to it, but then Wakui was like "Well, I can make him be madly loyal to someone he really cares about" and that's when I was like: YES, MY LOYAL KING, I LOVE YOU (loyalty is something I really love, adore and appreciated, plus I considered it an elegant value).

Once we get to know him and made certain someone pay for the betrayal I was like "Damn, you can't play around Sanzu" 😭

"You've 20 minutes more then it's our turn to perform, get ready fast and gather backstage as fast as you can."

"Yes Hyung."

Most of the members are already set for the stage, dressed up and putting their mics on, Joshua was the first one who was done thinking it would be great to give you a surprise during the show. 

He called you, not exactly knowing if you were free but he did wish you were and he heard your voice from the other side of the phone making him grin in excitement.

"You called? I am having a break from the class right now and I was so lonely and missing you, it's great that I could hear your voice, it's been days since I didn't."

He chuckled at your voice before he remembered why he had called in the first place. 

"I'm having a performance at a music show right now."

"I already know that."

"Yeah but like please make sure you watch it."

"Why, do you have a surprise for me?" 

"Of course and I'll call you after our performance and you will tell me how I did."

"Of course love, all the best, I know you'll do amazing and say fighting to other members from my side too."

"Alright, now the manager hyung is yelling at us I'm going on the stage, make sure you watch the performance."

He hung up the phone, running towards the backstage for their performance. 

You opened your laptop when he hung up immediately going to the music show's YouTube channel where they were showing live performances and you brace yourself as the mcs introduced Seventeen and did their mini interview. 

Your eyes landed on Joshua who was smiling while looking at the camera directly as if he was trying to have eye contact with you and a laugh escaped your lips, how cheesy could he get. 

The performance of left and right started as so did your rapid heartbeat as you watched them perform. Joshua indeed kept having his eye contact with the camera whenever he appeared on the screen and when his part of the song came instead of the regular choreography he flashed his bracelet and kissed it before sending a wink in your direction or in reality in camera's direction. 

You felt heat rush up your cheeks as your eyes landed on the identical bracelet adorning your hand and you brought it up to your face and kissed it gently. 

Your phone rang once again and you picked it up without looking at the caller ID knowing all too well who it would be since the performance ended. 

"How was the performance?" 

"I loved it and I can't believe you're wearing the bracelet, I feel so touched."

"It was meant for you and only you and I did my best of the best since I knew you would be watching me, I really wanted to do something for you on camera so you could go back and rewatch it if you miss me too much."

"How caring…..but being near you would have been much more appreciated."

"I know, our promotions have ended and I have some free time from now on till we have our next comeback which I'm not telling you when it will be, I can talk to you whenever I want now."

"That's great, I'll look forward to that, now I've class so I'll go now I'll talk to you later."

You bid your goodbye and headed to your next class, running a bit since you got a little bit off track because of someone. 

"Woah woah woah there Miss. Ultra speed."

You stopped when two hands grabbed your shoulder to prevent you from colliding with them and you looked up to see Aron, your friend smiling down at you. 

"I'm sorry I'm a little bit late I'll see you around I guess."

Aron watched you run away, shaking his head he continued to go where he was about to. 

"What's up with that smile on your face?" 

"Just bumped into y/n, nothing else."

"Ooo lover boy."

He just shrugged off continuing his work as his friends kept teasing him.

"Wonwoo-shi your new crop top seems to gain a lot of reactions from your fans, what do you think will be their reaction?" 

"Ah, quite frankly I wasn't supposed to wear a crop top but Seungcheol Hyung said that I've worked hard on my body so I asked our stylist to make the original top to a crop top, I hope carats will like it, I'm a big shy about it though."

They were on their way to their waiting room when an interviewer stopped them to ask some questions. 

"Joshua-shi, how do you think your performance went?"

"Oh I think we did well, I hope our lovely carats love the performance too." 

He smiled waving at the camera with a bright smile as others nodded behind him agreeing. 

"And we saw you made a change in choreography and kissed the mysterious bracelet in your hand, does it hold a special meaning to you? Is this a gift from your special someone?" 

Joshua raised his eyebrows at the interviewer's question before shaking his head laughing. 

"It's given by my best friend as a good luck charm, I can't really take it off and I wanted to appreciate them so I kissed it as a thankyou."

"Is your best friend a boy or a girl?" 

Everyone tensed at the question, this media just wanted to create a spicy headline and ruin idols personal life and it pissed them off but Joshua shrugged. 

"I would like to keep my best friend's identity a secret for privacy reasons."

He smiled and as if on cue Seungcheol greeted the viewers, cutting off the interviewer's from attacking them with a more troubled question. 

"These interviewers really need to get a life."

Joshua screeched as he threw off his jacket on the couch and sat. 

"Well it's technically their job to ruin our careers by being nosey in our personal life because that's basically what the netizens want."

Mingyu shrugged, putting his head on Wonwoo's lap. 

"Let's just hope he doesn't twist and turn this situation into something scandalous."

Everyone nodded at Jeonghan's words, getting up to change their clothes and rest.

Ooo I'm curious about your hot takes on the Inuyasha reboot after reading your tags 👀

Ahaha, where to start XD Idk if they are hot takes, but here are my thoughts in bullet point form for coherency, I couldn’t figure out how else to organize them. Under a cut, as usual, because it got lengthy... as usual :D

We are 13 episodes in, and I still have no idea wtf is going on or what the series is actually about. And yes, I’m aware that we didn’t know of Naraku’s existence or of the overarching plot until at least episode 16 of that series either and Inuyasha was still very episodic in nature at that early point too, but here’s the thing: Inuyasha did not build upon a pre-existing series. For better or for worse, Yashahime has certain expectations to live up to that the original anime didn’t, by virtue of its being a sequel. Unfair? Maybe, but tough; that’s what happens when you make a sequel. Additionally, despite us not knowing The Main Plot™ of Inuyasha until later, the basic framework for it was laid out clearly by... episode 2? I think? Find and collect the Shikon Jewel shards. Boom, done. Were there distractions or fillers? Sure, but you never got the sense that the characters simply up and forgot about the shards. Even in fillers, the shards often made some kind of appearance. With Yashahime, there’s like three potential storylines going on: 1. The most obvious: most of our main cast from the OG is missing; where are they? Apparently no one in-story cares! :D Inuyasha, who’s that lol. I’m all for a sequel focusing on the new generation with cameos of the old crew; after all, they already had their own series. But this is like... no one cares about them? No one talks about them? And the more characters go about not mentioning them, the stronger their absence is felt. Like, for instance, Kaede knows Moroha is InuKag’s daughter. Moroha grew up on her own, doesn’t know her parents. Kaede doesn’t mention them to Moroha, doesn’t even spare a passing thought about them for the audience’s benefit, Moroha doesn’t ask. Kagome’s family in the present day meet Moroha, recognize her as Kagome’s daughter and... say nothing??? Souta shows Towa Kagome and Inuyasha’s old photos, but doesn’t say a word to Moroha?! Like. It makes no sense. By people not even acknowledging their existence, it makes the fact that they are nowhere to be found even weirder. Also the new gen girls don’t care about their parents or finding out who they were/are... like, okay, it would maybe be in character for one or two of them, but all three don’t give a fuck??? 2. Kirinmaru/the rainbow pearls: Idk how familiar you are with the story, but similar deal with Naraku and the shards here. Kirinmaru is being set up as the villain, still a mysterious figure; our new gen trio is supposed to collect the rainbow pearls that... some of his henchmen have? Or he is after them? Or is that Riku? Unclear. ANYWAY the new gen girls often forget all about the pearls’ existence :D 3. Setsuna’s memories: Setsuna’s dreams have been stolen by the dream butterfly and they need to get them back, because without her dreams she has no memories and is unable to sleep. Cool! Finally a solid, easy-to-follow plot line! Except wait! Towa, who supposedly made it her goal to get Setsuna’s sleep back, forgets all about it! All the time! Like, none of them make an effort to look into this other than being like “oh yeah, know anything about the dream butterfly?” to random folks every now and then. The Inugang back in the day was putting some grad school level research towards their goals, just saying. It just feels like everything’s all wishy-washy and there’s nothing really solid tying the series together. People just remember shit exists when it’s convenient.

Character development is MIA. I’m not expecting ground-breaking char dev in 13 episodes (though I do know 12 episode series that were phenomenal in that regard), but like... I do expect the series to focus on building the dynamics between the main three characters. So far, the series is more focused on teasing the audience with glimpses and promises of the OG cast instead. The creators are using nostalgia and bait (esp of a certain pairing) to drive interest in the series, rather than developing the new characters as fully-fledged characters for their own sakes.

Moroha is was the only thing I actually liked about the series. She is a little spitfire and you can somehow instantly see both Inuyasha and Kagome in her, while she also remains very uniquely herself; I have never seen such a successfully developed main pairing child in any series. She featured quite prominently in the first few episodes -- and unlike both her parents, she’s got a great memory and knowledge of lore -- where she balanced funny moments with badass fighting moments and being the token supernatural encyclopedia. It was great! And then... they’ve like... forgotten her. She’s been left behind so many times by the twins. She’s the butt of every joke. She’s become the type of comic relief that’s, well, insulting. More like a buffoon than anything else. And it’s basically all for the sake of giving the floor to Towa :/

Setsuna is okay. Not offensive, but unremarkable. She’s got her dad’s personality but like way toned down due to her different growing up circumstances, which is nice, but like... I feel she isn’t given any room to grow or breathe or anything. She’s also basically there as a device to enhance Towa’s development.

Towa... oy. I tried to like her, I really did, but she just doesn’t work for me. They set her up having a very Kurosaki Ichigo type deal with beating up bullies and getting into trouble at school and shit -- I’m fine with that. That’s cool. Esp if it’s linked to not feeling like she fits in bc she’s a hanyou? Awesome. Except once she travels back in time to the feudal era it’s all “Oh killing is bad you shouldn’t kill people” and “even though they attacked me I can’t possibly hurt them” and “you need to empathize and talk things out” and “friendship is magic” and shit. It feels like she had a personality transplant, it literally makes no sense. Her design is totally nonsensical too -- out of everyone at her school, she’s the only one dressed in a bright white suit? Do protags not wear the school uniform? Someone should tell Kagome lmao. She’s a pro at hand to hand, and she can absorb demons’ powers and fling them back at them like a personified Tessaiga, and she has a lightsaber sword, and she’s immune to miasma, and -- like... you get it. It’s too much. It’s way too OP for the type of universe that Inuyasha/Yashahime is set in. She’s hanyou for fuck’s sake; remember all the training Inuyasha had to go through? When he couldn’t lift his sword? When his sword attacked him? Sango, Miroku, Kagome, even Sesshomaru all had trouble with their weapons and had to work to become stronger. But Towa? Nope. Towa is straight out of the Yas Queen/Girl Boss manual, so she gets a free pass on everything.

UGH they are doing the VLD/bad writing thing where things happen (like, BIG THINGS) and none of the characters actually react to them. Or stuff happens and there are no consequences. No one ever talks about anything. It’s wild.

Everyone has amnesia!! :D People either don’t know or don’t remember anything or anyone. People who absolutely should know things all of a sudden magically don’t know them. Like, Kohaku -- traveled with an undead priestess, spent years in the company of demons, traveled with Sesshomaru... and yet had NO CLUE that Setsuna is Sesshomaru’s daughter or that she is hanyou, despite her living and working with his team of demon slayers all this time. Like... how, man. How. And Kaede! Don’t get me started. Since when does she perpetuate random demon-boogeyman type stories as facts? Demon children will kill each other in the nest so that only the strongest one will survive, therefore Setsuna must have killed Towa when they were infants. O_O What are they, sharks? Has she been hanging out with Kisame? Wtf?? And she’s speaking about Sess’s kids as though she doesn’t know him or anything about him, when she has had Rin under her roof all these years. It just makes. no. sense.

Things that happened in the original series are happening again now! Because that’s the best we’ve got, recycled plot elements wooo! No, but really, characters that died or things that were resolved in Inuyasha keep coming back. Why? What was the purpose of bringing back Kinka and Ginka? To have a foil for Towa and Setsuna as twins? Someone please tell Sunrise they can just create new characters. Like, it’s one thing to have call backs to the original or cameos, references, whatever. But like... this is entire (dead) characters and interactions.

No one knows how long it’s been since the original series ended. Fans initially heard 20 years from promo material, then “over 15″ and “10 years since” in-series regarding two different events, and now in a future episode summary we’ve gotten 18 years since Hosenki II gave Inuyasha the black pearl. But like, which black pearl? Because the one in Inuyasha’s eye doesn’t exist anymore, but Hosenki II had told Inuyasha that it would take 100 years for him to produce one. So, are we retconning that or where the fuck did it come from? Also, this doesn’t help one bit, it just confuses things even more. Back to the point, though, we have no coherent timeline or real frame of reference whatsoever, and I’m betting it’s in large part to keep the mystery of who is Sesshomaru’s wife going, as it keeps Rin’s age very vague. Everything is vague and mysterious in Yashahime, to the point where no one knows what’s going on, in fandom or in-story even. It’s kinda like how too much plot twist/shock reveal ruins a story, too much mystery does the same. It’s insane that both shippers and antis of that ship can lay equal claim that the “18 years since” announcement works in their favor.

tl;dr: Idk man, Yashahime is a clusterfuck of a series. Even if the mother of Sess’s twins is either of the characters I ship him with, I will still not like the series. There’s no saving this writing. Every episode feels like this:
