DONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY TWO BOOKS but if you could recommend me one (1) f/f (esp if one of them is bi) fantasy book, which would it be? i can't decide between foundryside and a memory called empire but maybe there's another cool book im missing out on!

if you put a gun to my head i would say a memory called empire because it is honest to god the best book ive ever read. memory however is kinda hard science fiction though, not fantasy. it is also not a casual read, it is extremely complex and an onions worth of layers but i love this book and the sequel a desolation called peace. thinking about them makes me feral i Will never shut up about those books.

BUT if you do want a fairly easy to get into fantasy than foundryside is it. i absolutely adore foundryside and the second book shorefall (shorefall is the most batshit insane book ive ever read i am Begging more people to read them so i can talk about what happens in that book more). and the cover of foundryside is beautiful.

the romances in either book aren't especially prominent (they are more so in both sequels) but no sexualities are ever discussed.

some other books that i just think are neat but dont exactly fit are the long way to a small angry planet (sci fi with a low-key f/f romance but is also one of my favourite books), the library of the unwritten (just a fantastic fantasy book with great plot twists and lgbt rep), and if you dont mind m/m the house in the cerulean sea is soft, heartwarming, fantasy. that book is perfect honestly.
