Just as Gabe gained the upper hand on Vincent and just when he is about to slit Vincent’s throat, Catherine surfaced behind him and she straps the gem necklace on Gabe’s neck so that his beasty abilities are been hindered. While Vincent did as well as he could luring Gabe into a final fight  to distract him, Catherine swept in, with perfect  timing, as well as the perfect back-up , with the beast-inhibiting collar in hand.

Once again, Sherri Cooper & Jennifer Levin wrote the episode and Fred Gerber returned to the director's chair, the same trio that gave us " BEAST IS THE NEW BLACK". "Operation Fake Date" was a 'bizarre' episode, in my opinion, that was  amazingly acted by the whole cast. JR and KK, as VinCat, make it all worth while and deliver even the worst dialogues and plots with passion and dedication and I love them for it. Gabe has stepped into sociopath territory. This guy is out of his mind as he’s lost the sense between love and obsession with Cat and this makes him quite dangerous. Congrats to Sendhil Ramamurthy for impersonating him so well. Gabe has enlisted Beth’s help by telling her all about Vincent’s corrupted DNA after a government experiment gone wrong. Beth is Cat’s annoying old high-school friend, the reporter we saw  in "Reunion". Heather was planning her bachelorette party but she hasn't set a date for her wedding yet ( with the mysterious "great" Matthew). Cat and Vincent continue their quest in getting Vincent exonerated and finally they succeed. There is so much chemistry and sparkling humor between the two characters that they really light up the screen. Also, some mysterious government men come into play and manage to take a sample of Vincent’s blood. Who are these men? Clearly they will be the big players in season 3. I think they will offer us closure in episode 22 and we will get to see more of them in season 3. So they got Vincent’s blood and plan,obviously, to do things with it. J.T. and Tess are so cute and funny in this episode, as they always are, after all. The episode gives us references to the mythology : we hear about Rebecca Reynolds again and we see her journal reemerge, with Cat studying it to learn more about her ancestor and "her beast" Alistair. We have an awesome cliffhanger and this harrowing conclusion is potently successful in setting the scene for an exciting  season finale.

Cat gets a call from Tess letting her know the witness is missing. Tess lets Cat know what she is doing on her end and gives her and Vincent the job of trying to track down the witness as she goes to find Gabe.

So Vincent rides down the elevator to sub level 20 and…he spots Xavier who has collapsed in front of the server, but he has already started the upload from the server to Sam’s computer.
