           thedefector Found the Beautiful Nightmare

      -{♞}-               Visibility had been shortened during the previous few hours due to the onset of heavy fog; the weather front that was looming towards the city seemed to consist of snow and freezing cold winds; not that the lingering cadaver could feel as much. Boots stepped against the pavement, the steady clink of armor sounding with each pace he made. Nightmarish eyes scanned his surroundings, alabaster skin only revealing cracks like aged porcelain when the moon came out from hiding behind wisping clouds. Ashen hair tousled behind his shoulders in the steady breeze, clawed fingers aiding him in climbing swiftly to the roof of a nearby apartment building, using its height as an advantage to overlook the layout of the streets. He certainly had not been here before, the air smelt different to the wilderness, heavier... more polluted. Senses were on high as another scent hit his nose, this time of a being he did not recognize; there was a familiar taste to the air, and yet one he knew nothing of. Perhaps this bland evening would turn into a night to remember, after all.

“Hello?” Myra knew that there was someone else here, but she couldn’t make out where or who they were. The teen pulled her jacket tighter around her, her breath billowing out in the cold winter air. She was on the way to the library to find simple cookbooks, to learn about something she could make for sick family members.

Midnight || Closed

@thedefector It was late into the night when Scarlet realized something, or someone, was walking through the forest. She woke slowly to discomfort and her stomach churning. As soon as she placed her feet on the ground, she winced, getting a better sense of what was going on. Someone either as powerful as she, or even more powerful, was walking through. The more she focused on where they were walking, the more convinced she was that they were just passing through and were minding their own business, but it never hurt to double check. She brushed her hair out of her eyes then walked out of her small little college and along the stone path she had made that led one back into the trails of the forest. Following her sense of where the feeling was strongest and how scared each tree sounded by this powerful being, she soon located the stranger. Scarlet curiously peaked at him from behind a tree. Why, he didn't look dangerous at all! He seemed... Kind? Was that the word she was looking for? Whatever it was, she knew she shouldn't judge solely on appearance. That never got her anywhere. If she wanted to relieve her forest, she would need to talk to this man. Wasting no breath, Scarlet fearlessly stepped out from behind the tree. She left some space between them so the other wouldn't feel threatened. "Hello there!" A sweet smile moved across her face.
