You know what's funny to me? So, considering all the promotional stuff we got for the previous title with what we know now about DA4's narrative so far.. isn't it kinda bizarre (and so funny) that for the longest time, it was all about #TheDreadWolfRises and ohhh watch out, he's making his move and how he's "placing his pieces on the board as we speak" and all that…. when in reality, as we know now.. he's doing... pretty much the opposite of "rising"?? 😂😂😂 Like.. he's in fact "falling" into a trap, put out of action, he's not going anywhere? lmao
So… When is he going to rise then, if ever? 😂 Was all of this purposefully misleading? Is he gonna come up with some strategic master plan from inside the Fade?
Or is this gonna be the twist halfway through the game that Solas gets out of the Fade à la "Who let the Dog out" and the Dread Wolf is gonna strike back full force against the elven gods?
Also, Sandal's prophecy in DA2 still needs to come true at some point, right? Right??

Yeah, this part certainly made me jump "EXCUSE ME??". 😂 The way they just casually dropped this rather massive information like that, is kinda baffling. lol But then it dawned on me that this was in fact not the first time they hinted at this! Remember that blog post from last December, following the teaser trailer on DA Day? This part specifically? 👀
Tumblr media
In my initial comment on this, I thought the "hundreds of years in the making" part was referring to how Mythal has been directing the course of history behind the curtains to get her vengeance, especially now that we know Elgar'nan is back on the scene. And that might still be the case after all, if Solas has been acting in her will (remember when he told the Inquisitor how drinking from the Well makes them "Mythal's creature" and how everything they do from now on will be, whether they know it or not, in her will. 👀
But either way, what exactly does this mean now? If Solas somehow contributed to how the Veil has gradually gotten weaker in the last 1000 years (what I thought John Epler was talking about/what this blog post is hinting at) because of those preparations, when he was presumably in Uthenera.. it raises sooo many questions! For one, how did he do this? We know he was still in contact with people like Felassan, who might've helped him prepare for this ritual all this time on the other side of the Veil? I mean, in retrospect, it's not even really surprising if we imagine that it probably didn't take this long for him to see the unexpected effects of the Veil and go from the initial shock of "What have I done" to "I need to undo this". And the sheer magnitude of those consequences for both the waking world and the Fade, when this was something that was maybe planned for hundreds of years before he would ever wake up and (potentially) have his entire mindset changed by the Inquisitor, would put a WHOLE new layer to the theme of regret.
And btw, while we're at it, to get back to that blog post, I know I kinda joked about this before, how the whole marketing for DA4 right up until the title change was all like "#TheDreadWolfRises" or "watch out for Solas' masterplan" and how this is a stark contrast to what actually seems to be happening with him at the beginning of DA4, Solas failing big time and getting trapped... but looking at this blog post again and all the myths and stories about Fen'Harel getting trapped, outsmarting people, emerging triumphantly and getting out of tricky situations (albeit at a cost), along with the trillions of hints pointing towards the Veil coming down... and here, they're pretty much "promised" us that he will be successful? Yeah, I'm still 100% sure Sandal's prophecy will come true at some point. 😁
Tumblr media
Well, it's funny looking at this now, because.. seems like we already DID, actually. 😂 At least for now. I mean.. maybe Solas didn't anticipate Rook to interfere... but what about Mythal? 👀 My head is spinniiiing.
From the new ‘Making of Dragon Age: the Veilguard’ behind the scenes video: 👀
“As we’ve gone through DAO, DA2, Inquisition… magic has become more and more present, and part of that is because Solas has been slowly preparing this ritual for longer than anyone in the Dragon Age universe is really aware of.”

What if the inquisitor was none other than a real ancient elven? One of the People who knows firsthand what "elvenglory" is. - You yourself are “ancient”! Rude... Finished Thia’s portrait. My babe! Love her!

Dragon Age Drawtober Day 15: Solas. In my headcanon, Julia is inquisitor but there's still OCs that join the Inquisition, and Shielani is my Solas romance.

I already made a post about how badly I want the option to kill my solasmanced inq in front of him, but lemme take that a step further
I think that they could have the well-of-sorrows drinker appear in 4 "Here Lies The Abyss" style. The DA4 protag gets the option to assassinate whoever it was and both could lead to the same outcome (meaning, the other option is just to not ofc). Now hear me out:
With Morrigan, it'd probably be more of a "Saves me the trouble." Response and doesn't defer him from his path.
Whereas, the real trick lies with the inquisitor! Now we all know Solas' deal is free will/freedom. Solas spots the da4 protag on their way to kill them, and with a "Inquisitor!"/"Vhenan!" Solas uses the same power Mythal used on the inq and Morrigan. Thus, resulting in the loss of what was left of him after the idol.
I personally can't decide if he'd wanna do in an unfriendly/hostile inq himself. 🤔
