THE GREAT INVITATION

12th March 2019

“Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” (Luke 14:16-23).

The word “come” is said 2,106 times in the Bible. Today, God is calling you to come to Him. He is always calling out to you to come to Him. Never say that God did not invite you. He did and continues to invite you. As God is calling you, do not reject Him. If you do not want God, He will call others who you despise. “For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper (Luke 14:24). There are so many parties you have never been invited to. I have good news for you today. God is giving you the greatest invitation there is to His kingdom. God is calling you as a young person. He is calling you as an old person. He is calling you to respond in time. He is calling you to serve Him. He is calling you to work for Him. He is calling you to send you! He is calling you to bless you! Come to Him today.

At this great invitation, you will receive milk (1 Peter 2:2) that will address every issue you will encounter in your life, the bread of life which is Jesus (John 6:50-51); the most essential commodity you will need in your life! At this invitation you will also receive some meat (Hebrews 5:14) that will make you strong in the spirit, water (John 4:14) to satisfy every thirst you have in your life, the fruits of the spirit to make you more like God (Galatians 5:22-23) and wine to wash away all your mistakes in this life!

Can you believe that some people give excuses when invited to this great invitation? One person when invited said that he had bought land and could not come. Now, you may not have much but one day you will. Never allow what you have to make you a “big shot”. Being a big shot makes your proud and pride comes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). Pride opens every door to failure and that is why you fall. Pride is like a spirit that comes and opens the front door, back door, windows and all. Pride leaves you bear and open for failure! Pride makes you oblivious to the realities of life. Do not let your property or who you think you are make you feel big.

Another person was given an opportunity to attend this great invitation and he said he had five yoke of oxen. In today’s world, he would have said that he has five computers and is starting a computer school. The computer you were proud of yesterday is no longer used today. I once met a chartered account who did not use a computer but did everything on her phone! That computer you rejected Jesus for is no longer worth much today. Never let anything prevent you from following after Jesus.

Today, God is calling you. He is giving you the greatest invitation in this world. Do not reject Him because of what you have. Do not reject Him because of who you think you are. He is saying to you come! Do not joke with this great invitation. Open your heart today and receive Him today!

Stay therefore together in thy comfortable barn and build a fanbase of those people who value good living, prosperity and positive affirmation, with brassbound procedure; making mention of suggestions regarding Jesus as an example of a moral life. And be caught up in experiential freedom, so that when I have left the building, nothing will have changed.
