Desert Testing

You know that Green Day song about walking a lonely road- that one you have probably hear on the radio a million times, the one that so many middle school children have called “relatable?”

Don’t worry, that has nothing to do with this.

Verde lifted the pull tab to can of beer and snapped it open, smiling as she sat upon her latest robot’s shoulder. She never had a chance to become acclimated to the desert, but as it became later in the day, the cooler it got. The wide open space and solitude was ideal for testing heavy artillery, the limited wildlife was interesting to study… But still, it was a bit lonely, even for her taste. She leaned back, craning her neck to the sky as she watched vultures fly over head. 

The solitude gave her time to think, away from work and away from her machines. Time to speak allowed without any one overhearing her or responding back.

"I wonder how the other Arcobaleno are doing…" They didn’t communicate much after the curse was removed, but Verde was never that "social" to begin with. "Colonello and Lal are engaged, Yuni is growing up so quickly… Reborn is still training the young Vongola too…" She took a sip of her drink, smiling.

"I can’t believe I’m beginning to miss those guys." Maybe a civil meeting was in order… but she wasn’t very trustworthy, was she? Weren’t all the Arcobaleno paranoid about her?"

"Maybe I can lie- tell them that no one is more qualified to test my latest weapons… or just cause trouble on purpose to get their attention," She laughed. That’d be too much trouble, wouldn’t it?

"I should stop drinking, otherwise I wont be able to home." 

((It was either this or a terrible Arcobaleno Road Trip but I didn’t want to misrepresent a character ;v; ))
