You know, despite the fact there are still a few steam engines in Portugal, I'm pretty sure I've actually never seen one in person (that I remember). But my mom says I've been on one when I was a baby.

The CP (Comboios de Portugal) Railway modernised ages ago, and steam engine services are very much a luxury that only the wealthier folks can spare time and money to experience nowadays (which is not the case for my family, and even back then my mom only went and took me and my older sister because it was a work related thing, and she was coordinating the media teams that the company she used to work for sent for the job).

It's kinda crazy how some things that used to be so common in the past can become unicorns to modern society...
