620 words today ! isn't the best start but it's definitely good considering i'm slow as all fuck to write anything. got the rest of this prompt/day's chapter blocked out so by the time i sit down again tomorrow hopefully things will just flow on smoothly. i love blocking that shit saves me most days ;-;
#bee blabs#there is a difference bw plotting and blocking in my mind#plotting is all the pre-establishment stuff and tends to be more in depth and i may or may not use all of it#plotting is my brainstorming/brain dumps basically#but BLOCKING is when i've already started the thing n i'm just quickly outlining for myself how to continue when i drop back into the story#this is just simple events or dialogue or reactions i sketch out to ascertain the scene before i write it in full#also i think i just absorbed the term blocking from annotating scripts which is kinda the same thing#i'm just doing it in fiction form ig#ANYWAY it is defo ninights time methinks

Some Rocket thoughts...
So I calmed down a bit, took my meds, went ahead with my day schedule and stuff... and the first thing that crossed my mind after re-watching the Dialga/Palkia preview was that Goh and his Mon who wear suits similar to TRio are actually our guys not alternate ones - because color scheme of Goh matches and there is already a shorter kid!Goh in another shot so 3 Gohs in one special... sounds like an overkill. Which gave me hope, like perhaps regular Goh used parts of Team Rocket’s suits and wears it or something, and if there is no alternate “mechanical” Goh then perhaps Team Rocket shown isn’t alternate as well but oh well...
then I noticed they’re only shown during daylight in a city scenery and trying to capture their pokemon, so business as usual, and that we have absolutely no indication their appearance actually contributes to anything in this two-parter (except perhaps their tech which the cast may salvage for some other use?). So both the pessimist and realist in me think they’re actually used as “fun” and “cool” deus ex machina, and a minor source of conflict (cast needs their tech for something), with no idea about the anomaly and/or being opportunistic about it at best in order to quietly kidnap pokemon from the other side of the rift undetected. But they’re dealt with and then... the Dialga/Palkia thing is something (or someone?) else entirely, I wouldn’t even completely exclude Cyrus since this clearly exists to promote the remakes. But probably something random and unexplained, literally like everything intriguing in this series - well-done cool ideas but rushed and not given any ongoing arc, just “events”
Still, while exciting, this sucks in all kinds of twisted ways.
Best case scenario actual TRio isn’t even in it! (but the requirement to include them every 4-6 episode block is fulfilled I guess...). Better even, there is no worded indication given they aren’t real ones, so I can easily imagine they are and on the mission. Perhaps, they officially “can’t” even have actual Team Rocket show they can do something tech savvy reminiscent of Best Wishes tech and Best Wishes levels of seriousness/influence on plot (OR the VAs wouldn’t stand for it so the writers are being really “protective” of their opinions and feelings - while simultaneously - obviously! - Tomioka and Yonemura have no problem with such depictions which is why they are eager to implement them anyway given occasion only slightly hindered/altered/subtle/or ”fake” like in this case).
But still, at least it wouldn’t be worst case scenario - like if they were in it only for shit giggles and pointless confrontation with their “serious” counterparts who make fun of them and/or force them to reflect on their lack of evil successes in life (and no acknowledgment given they’ve already been in such positions in their past which is just as much part of canon as the fact Satoshi knows Iris and all that other stuff from different series). And given what I know about the reoccurring problems with the TRio ever since BW and how the *play pretend if necessary/force needless plot bits and don’t use them* but actually characterize them properly in all other instances - which is the main stay in this series apparently, and one last serious fault about them in the post-BW era that’s left standing - I wouldn’t even completely exclude the worst case scenario here. And the worst case may even turn badly handled worst case... if there is like a... regular Rockets play the hero card all of a sudden because they can’t stand the “evilness” (or style) of their other selfs and being offended by it because supposedly they would never do it... yeah, right, right, hypocrisy much huh! That would be so distasteful
Still, if the eps surprised me and did something GOOD unexpected for a change and proved my Rocket pessimism wrong... that would be such a great present, seriously
