Got an email today calling me the international authority on the protein I wrote my PhD thesis on
#time to weep#authority??????#there was a brief time my PI sent me out to explain this protein to other labs who found it interesting#I did enjoy that little circuit#like they didn't care about my experiments they just wanted me to explain my review paper#it was kind of fun#like learning why they cared and trying to see how my knowledge could help them#international authority#thank you random kid from oxford you couldn't know how fucking much those words hurt
