,Some more randos for @rattyarts edgeworld that I finally colored. This time their related!

Thier names are Regis and Luigi respectively and they're half brothers.

Regis is a Kitsune/Dragon who's a contract lawyer. Despite his sleazy looks, his skills are legit and has an approval rating of 90%. All the tiny hair thing are tails. Yes, ALL of them including the mane. His office is filled with paintings by his brother, Luigi.

Luigi is a Therewoof/Dragon who is a commissions artist. He works in illustrations, usually landscapes and scenery. Anyone who doesn't pay them the correct amount usually gets a stern letter with the slight undertone of "I have the power to take you to court" hidden in there. He always gets contract critiqued by his brother so he doesn't get screwed.

Two more Edgeworld characters! Dominic Dominari and J. Falcourt.

Dominic is a self-serious young man currently focusing all his energies on law school. Cockatrices don’t usually have a crystal on their forehead, but he once pondered something so deeply that his thoughts actually crystallized. He’s very proud of it, and overall he puts a lot of work into his appearance. His close friends and family members affectionately call him “Dom-Dom”.

Falcourt has a mixed family ancestry but mostly he’s a therewoof. He’s strong and loyal, but very klutzy. His enormous tail alone has caused thousands of dollars in property damage, and he just keeps getting fired from job after job. He doesn’t mind, though. His real passion is exploring the forest with his best friend Fuzzlump. He’s Dominic’s neighbour and every so often Dom watches him return from some cockamamie camping trip covered in leaves and mud, with some weird piece of junk tied to the top of his car. Disgusting.

Anyway, much like how I turned 8 into an Edgeworld character, here’s my funky version of Agent 3, but this time as a Therewoof! @rattyarts

Oliver! An avid fish fan, he probably hangs around swamps with Carice. Carries her around whenever she needs to go somewhere with his big Therewoof muscles.

I was being serious in the tags of Angel’s post when I said I had a lot of ideas for characters in @rattyarts Edgeworld. Most of these were supposed to be their own character pages but I decide to condense them all (Including misc. doodles) into one page due to time constraints. Darn you classes. 

Anyway notes about everyone below!

The Elf:

He has no name yet, But I’m thinking maybe Olive.

Shy, reclusive and passive.

Works as a librarian and has a deep passion for literature.

Suffered an accident a while back and has a few burns across his body to show for it. Don’t ask it’s rude.

Dyed his body with yellow patterns for both self expression and as a distraction from the burns.

Lives with an assertive mousefly roommate.

One of two who where inspired by art prompts.

Therewoof:

Rockstar! Has a band that plays punk/hardrock music.

Occasionally found at the same parties as Angel.

Has made a game out of messing with her.

S C R E A M

No current official name but I’ve been calling her Queena Wygena Hyena for funsies.

Lindworm:

Not really a thought out character I just wanted to draw a lindworm.

Because the portable pool noodles are one of my favorite species in this setting. 

I think I’ll name her Tulip.

Literally just inspired by that calvin and hobbs comic.

I think I’ll call him Bojangles.

Named Trifoli Just a cute farmer girl for your cute farmer girl needs.

I’ve seen a couple asks asking about where meat comes from in Edgeworld and I propose that it comes out of the ground just like all the other food. Duh. Where else would it come from? Animals? That’s just absurd.

I picture this hoppit farmer farming up their crops of carrots and drumsticks to sell at the local market. 

Might live further out from the Edge where things are a bit toonier.

Angel recieving the coveted head pats of approval as well as another contract.

Vehicles! Because I figured it was about time to design some of these, especially since I decided these things are sentient. In order, we got:

Buttercup: Urus’s bike. Completely built from scratch, she’s very attached to him and no one else. Eats food instead of needing fuel.

Shrimp’s car: Wasn’t very good at coloring inside the lines, apparently.

Leo’s car The Pissmobile: Because nothing says “compensating for something“ quite like an expensive-ass sports car. Is frequently yelled at, kicked, and occasionally shot.

Leo’s second car: Originally belonged to his father. Isn’t actually driven anymore, but gets spoiled to hell and back and is actually treated with respect. The arms can appear anywhere on the car, lindworm style.

Shuck’s car: She really wanted a monster truck, but couldn’t afford one. Proof that therewoofs really shouldn’t drive during the full moon.

SB’s car: Very fluffy and likes being pet. Trunk is always full of rubber chickens, somehow.

Meet Donna Brewton! Owner of a small liquor store in Nowhere, she’s a sweet and gentle soul who sells a variety of booze to all these edgy-ass cartoon characters.

Her true form is extremely aggressive; she doesn’t like to talk about it, but apparently there was an... accident at one point. Donna now keeps to herself, doing her best to keep her true name (One Dollar) a secret to avoid causing any more trouble.

She apologizes for all the slime. It’s a therewoof thing.

How does the therewolf names thing work? Like if Donna ever hears someone on the street saying one dollar does she transform?

Correct! If they hear their true name spoken, they’ll instantly revert to their original form, and won’t be able to turn back until the next full moon.

For therewoofs who have very common names, we have created a revolutionary piece of technology to prevent them from randomly overhearing said name.

So what counts as a dog for the purposes of therewoof-ing? Is your favourite pet roomba a dog?

Why, a dog of course! Just a regular old woofer. What, were you expecting some kind of wacky fantasy creature? That’s silly. A dog is a dog.

…. Okay, fine. They’re not EXACTLY like real dogs. But that’s mostly due to existing in a cartoon universe.

How did Shuck become a therewoof? How does woof become therewoof?

That one is currently in the pile of WIP comics I’m working on (there’s a lot), and it’s gonna take a lil while until I get to it. Here’s a preview from my roughs, though:

Would it be really funny or ironic for this dog to become a person right now?

If yes to both, congrats, your poodle now has to pay taxes! Truly a fate worse than death.

alrighty, heres a wacky question. For the magic name stipulations, what if one were to hear/ see their name in a different language? (a therewoof seeing someone sign their name in ASL, an elf named Jesus hearing someone call out 'Chuy', etc)

Elves actually work a little differently! It doesn't matter if they hear it or not; you have to actually know what their name is for them to lose power over you.

Imma say therewoof ASL thing works though, because that's funny.

Fun fact, I actually pulled both of these straight from folklore without really changing anything. The elf one from the many, many stories about finding out a fae's true name to render them harmless.

The werewolf one has a few variations; some stories require you to also know and recognize the person to cure them, but that doesn't really work for a dog, so I just went with the usual 'saying their name out loud' thing.

What the hell is Edgeworld

Basic summary for new peoples, because this whole thing is COMPLETE nonsense out of context.

Edgeworld is an incredibly silly setting that runs on cartoon logic. (Or lack thereof.) It's populated by my own weirdass interpretations of creatures from folklore and mythology.

Most of the stories are set in the city of Nowhere, located on the literal edge of the world. Said edge turns things edgy and makes it so the cartoon peoples can do swears and drugs and violences.

Yes, this whole thing is a terrible, terrible pun.

Mostly it’s an excuse for me to play with tonal dissonance and weird meta nonsense.

It’s collaborative.... ish, in that anyone is free to do whatever they damn please with what I create. Make your own edge-OCs, grab stuff and put it in your own stories, hell, go ahead and steal the characters if you want. Why not.

In exchange, I may steal some of your fan ideas right back and add it to the setting. Fan OCs are pretty much always canon!

Unfortunately, due to me being REALLY bad about tagging stuff, it's kinda hard to read up on this setting and its lore. At the moment, I'd say the best way to catch up is to pick a character and go through their tag. I'll put together a better system at some point, I promise!

A couple of quick character summaries (and their respective tags):

Skut: A gorgon/hoppit hybrid. Huge slacker who mostly hangs around the apartment eating pizza and smoking weed.

Pixie: A tiny little jerkass punk.

Aster: Big dopey minotaur dude. Moved in from the outside world and isn't really used to the big scary R-rated city.

The elf bros: A trio of elf brothers. They're dicks.

Urus: Gay zombie minotaur biker. He's a sweet old man but looks kinda scary due to missing half his face.

Shrimp: Urus's boyfriend. Flirty little doofus imp who speaks like Gurgi and hates clothes.

Margaret: A dragon mob boss. Lopped off her brother's head in an arguement and now runs the entire cartoon mafia on her own.

Sugarbeans: Hewwo!

Katelynn Blanche: Margaret's minotaur bodyguard. Scares the shit out of everyone and may or may not eat people.

Leopold Mesquite: An alcoholic rubberhose mosquito who works as a hitman for Margaret. Ridiculously edgy and everyone’s favorite tumblr sexyman.

Shuck: Therewoof who likes to fight people, clown around, and occassionally chases cars for funsies. Also punches people until they give her their money.

So theres already some mobility aids and stuff in this setting and the blind gorgon made me think of other various accessibility improvements and how theyd exist in this setting like service animals and the like,, my fav thought is a service dog agency that hires therewoofs

Consider: therewoof who trains service dogs.

If any of them turn they can be employed as trainers instead.
