Ahalya.’ • 🌸 This is a story of #Ahalya, princess of Panchal, daughter of King Mudgal and wife of Mahrishi Gautam. Eversince, I have heard about her in Ramayana, I wanted to know her, her story. Hence, I had to read this book.📙 . . Ahalya was the most beautiful woman created by Lord Brahma. As a child, she was always curious and wanted to learn more and more. Ahalya wanted to study, to be a scholar, a Rishika but her Mother, Queen Nalayani wanted her to marry Indra, the King of Gods. Indra was crazy for her and wanted her at any cost but Ahalya, she fell for Rishi Gautam during the time she stayed at his ashram. Ahalya found everything in Rishi Gautam, a teacher, a mentor, a friend, a guide. They eventually got married and Ahalya did become a yogi. Years went by and things got changed except for the desire in Indra to have Ahalya. Ahalya's married life was going through a rough phase already when Indra came to her, disguised as Gautam. -Did she know it was Indra and not Gautam? -Was she guilty? -Did she deserve the punishment/curse she was given?🤔 . . This story kept me gripped and I just love the way this author @kavitakane writes. Of course, we will never know what exactly had happened at that time but stories like this, give you a perspective. When everybody held Ahalya guilty, why did Lord Ram not? I sooo want to share the epilogue of the book however, at the same time, I want you all to read it yourself and share your own perspective. I have been to Jaipur, Rajasthan recently and I just loved every piece of it. Jaipur is truly a colorful city. 🌸 Massive forts, beautiful architecture, authenticity and what not. The best part about my trip was, I had the pleasure of reading a few chapters on Princess Ahalya in the huge Amer fort. It literally gave me a different kind of peace and pleasure. Damn!
