You can be someone else

Authors you deeply admire and are with the same literary agency - and wish you could have coffee ☕️ with. ♥️♥️ I was holding these books in my hand, trembling a bit, feeling so grateful to have had their lives touched mine. I have so much to be thankful for with all of them, each differently. I discovered @mattmikalatos #thecrescentstone at @realmmakers and after reading it found @ambassador_speakers and literary. I loved climbing through tunnels and following his characters to impossible places while they discovered a lot about life in amazing lands. Then I heard about @jolinapetersheimauthor and was drawn into her riveting tales #thealliance and #howthelightgetsin that feature Amish people and very unusual circumstances. Her ability to put raw emotion and authenticity into her gripping tales and also into her social media as we watch her family grow up has been so enriching. @wmpaulyoung dazzled me with #theshack first with the deep sadness of the loss the people experience in the book – then with the life-changing spiritual moments and mind bending thoughts about the trinity. When this book first debuted, I was unable to read it because we had no books and were scrambling for housing after wildfires took everything we owned. But later, years later, I could really relate to how his main character was able to find God in impossible circumstances so much worse than ours - still it gave me an enduring thread of hope. I’m so grateful for that. ♥️ And #Frankperetti inspired me with the #cooperkids series taking kids on grand adventures. Book of the Week No. 3 The Shack by William Paul Young Rate: 8.5/10 Favorite Line: "So many believe that it is love that grows, but it is the knowing that grows and love simply expands to contain it." Review: The Shack revolves around Mack (Mackenzie) Philips life. His young daughter, Missy, was abducted during a family vacation four years prior. Her body was never found but the police did find evidences in an abandoned shack proving that she had been brutally murdered by a notorious serial killer. As the story goes on, Mack, who has been living silently with his immense grief, receives a strange letter that is discernibly from God. God invites Mack to come back to the said shack for a get together. With uncertainty, Mack revisits the scene of the crime and there had a weekend-long sudden encounter with the godhead/holy trinity. Praises for William Paul Young! Personally, I am not the type of person to read or to be inclined in these types of reads since I am more into young-adult, romance, dystopian, fantasy or science-fiction rather than of religious or godly genres. But, this story really offers pings at my heart. This highly impacted me as a reader to turn the pages. I may say that at some parts, especially in the beginning chapters, a lot of awkward wordings and fiddly sentence constructs affected much on my experience of reading. Narratives are not that straightforward, and I certainly sometimes wonder; who is the person telling the story?
