thewebcrawler It had been a week since Leah had finally come home. A week of adjusting, seeing family, unpacking her things, not wearing her uniform. It had been a week of silence for her. There had been no gunfire, no explosions, no helicopters. No screaming. That was until she closed her eyes, then it would all rush back to her, every detail right down to how it felt as the bullet tore through her shoulder. The young woman had started talking in her sleep, and sleep walking, getting up in the middle of the night and running outside, only to be found by one of her neighbours and brought home. She was becoming self destructive. But worse than that. She was becoming violent towards other people as well, especially the one with whom she shared a bed. Leah loved Peter. There was no doubt about that, but sometimes, if she was sleepwalking, or in a dreamlike state, she would mistake him for the enemy. That's why she had crawled out of bed that night and snuck into the kitchen. Breathing heavy, heart racing. The soldier tried to stay silent as she pulled out a knife, ready to attack the enemy soldier in her bed.
