LAST MINUTE INSPO FROM A SNEAK PEEK INTO CELEBRITY HALLOWEEN COSTUMES 2019
Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet, Give Me Something Good to Eat! Soon there will Halloween parties in full swing, pumpkins lining the streets and masses of trick or treaters on a serious scrape to secure as many sweets as possible at midnight. It’s that time of the year when you fancy channeling your inner Rihanna or Halsey or any fictional a character like Shrek or Lego Batman or any celebrity to create a spotlight-stealing look. Many choose to pay homage to their idols this spooktacular season and as the season has already kicked started with a bang, you might be at the hunt for a last-minute Halloween costume inspiration from the A-list set, spending hours to create the iconic looks this Halloween, all hail to the early festivities that have begun with our stars flaunting their Halloween looks setting the bar high again this year leaving behind costume inspiration for many. If you are a die-hard Halsey fan like me, plenty of choices to channel your Halsey are open; from Met Gala, Victoria Secret’s fashion show to American Music Awards and New York Fashion week Halsey could be your go-to Halsey costume for the Halloween party.
From Cruella de Vil to the tooth fairy you might have experimented with all kinds of looks from spooky to sweet all your life and this year what will be your spin this year is giving you serious trouble. Just Eat, Drink & Be Scary.
2018 didn’t fail to disappoint the celebrity high bar for Halloween costumes with some of the most outrageous, funny and confusing costumes, from the barely recognizable (Rita Ora as Post Malone, anyone?) to the downright uncanny, one can recreate the previous year’s head-turners as this Halloween's spooky and glamorous ensemble with DIY. From the most hyped costumes from the last year Halloween that took Instagram and twitters with amaze and gaze was the Jessica Biel, Justin Timberlake, and Silas Randall Timberlake as Lego Batman characters, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, the great Kardashians always making up to the highlights with fancy yet controversial stories, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian as Victoria's Secret Angels, Heidi Klum as Princess Fiona from Shrek, the millionaire whose Insta stories are always extravagant and stays at the top of social media hype, Kylie Jenner as Barbie and Beyoncé as Toni Braxton. When we talk about the most spine-chilling Halloween outfits we can’t just get over Heidi Klum's remarkable Jessica Rabbit in 2015 (which took nine hours of groundwork to complete the prosthetics), or Lady Gaga as a terrifying Edward Scissorhands in 2017 and the list goes on and on, for Halloween is the most sought social event in the celebrity calendar where their costume ideas are mandatory to prove as the crowd-pleasers.
Among the early Halloween feels, Dance with the Stars take the lead in giving us those creepy looks by going full zombie during Halloween night on Monday with a spooky opening number set to Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy. With the insane moves and crazy costumes donned with dreadful makeup to turn the ballroom floor into a creepier zombie world, the stars and the professional dancers are giving me chills down the spine.
https://youtu.be/h8ZYLlNZEMw
Some creepy costume inspirations are ready to be added to the Halloween mood board from the early Halloween festivity in Los Angeles hosted by Rande Gerber and George  Clooney, the annual Casamigos the party had the starry guest list who donned their crazy costumes as the homage to classical idols or recreated the looks from their past events. All of this flooded twitter and their Instagram before the arrival of the big day. The social-media worthy clobber for the annual Casamigos party is listed below.
HALSEY: MARILYN MANSON
Tumblr media
Halsey deserves all the applaud and the limelight, biased? Probably yes but the fandom of Halsey provokes such instinct in me and if I were to hand over the best celebrity costume award, Its Halsey and Halsey every time, every year and every event. Halsey this year didn't fail to disappoint and channeled inner goth rocker Marilyn Manson while she announces her relationship with actor Evan Peters on the Halloween bash in Los Angeles. Fiery redhead and a latex leotard was Halsey in the complete Halloween Spirit, spooktacularly-sexy.
Tumblr media
Halsey and Evan Peter are giving us some real relationship goals or they chose to confirm their love by costume coordination, Polka dots giving nostalgia of the '70s. They donned the look at starry American Horror Story 100th Episode Celebration kicked off in California.
KYLIE JENNER – FLAUNTS HALLOWEEN LOOK AS MADONNA
Tumblr media
Black is always a killer and Kylie Jenner totally slayed the look with blood-stained red lipstick and blondes to create the Madonna look in a now-iconic kiss at the 2003 VMAs. The makeup-mogul paid homage to the pop culture by pairing with her friend Stassie Karanikolaou to recreate Britney Spear. How cool is that?
Tumblr media
Like mother is the daughter, all glammed up in the Jenner’s met gala ensemble look. Stormi Webster was a miniature version of Kylie at the Met Gala, with the same lavender dress and purple hair. She totally was a little cute fella.
HEIDI KLUM – TOOK THE RED CARPET WITH GLITZ AND GLLITTERZ
Tumblr media
Her spectacular look made me utter “All that Glitters is just Gold!” The model dipped in glitter dazzled like a neon firework with green and other neon-colored glitters sprayed generously. That would be an understatement though as both husband and wife took the theme of fireworks to take Instagram like always to satiate the fandom every Halloween. But this is not the finale to the Halloween spook; a lot of creative prosthetics has been put to pull off this year’s costume for her iconic party.
DEMI LOVATO - MARIE ANTOINETTE
Tumblr media
In round 1, Demi was shining in the ensemble by her glam team, Etienne Ortega and Paul Norton. She is the crown-winner just in round 1, the slayer has dressed like French aristocrat Marie Antoinette with a low-cleavage corseted frock, taking us back to the 18th century. The star-studded eyes with heavily-powered makeup and a high-bun is worth the applaud.
Tumblr media
The second round brought forward the clown look of the singer, red-nosed and ginger head with complementing fierce red lens and pom-pom frock is another slayer and winner.
JESSICA BIEL - SARTORIAL TRIBUTE TO THE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE NYSNC DAYS
Tumblr media
When Jessica Biel dared to confess on air that she knows nothing about NSYNC songs, this is what it turned out as Jessica's costume for Halloween. In a metallic boiler suit with a curly wig and '90s sunglasses, Jessica paid homage to his husband's boy-band days.
UK celebs have been hitting hard to get into the game and giving tough competition to their US counterparts with hilarious costumes for the big day. The KISS Haunted House Party was another peak-into a place for getting costume inspo. Many of the stars that were performing in the KISS Haunted House Party took the stage with some incredible costumes; Four of diamonds rocked the recreation look of Bratz dolls with their infamous big eyes and face paint to complete the look. The Joker look was much expected after the acclaimed success of the movie, Cetinay was all Joker ready in red suit and clown painted face. Latex seemed more of a trend this Halloween in the celebs, after Hasley, Henderson was seen in black and orange latex with devil horns and blood dripping from the eyes, orange glitter blood to be specific.
Get your Halloween party shoes on and get running with the last minute DIY costume ideas. Slay the look completely. Happy Haunting!

Unicorn Sometimes One Middle Finger Isn't Enough To Let Someone Know How I Feel That's Why I Have Two Hands Shirt T Shirt
OF US AND THAT’S GOING TO CAUSE SHORTAGES SO IT IT HAS BEEN MADE PUBLIC IN CERTAIN WAYS AND ALSO WE HAVE OTHER SOURCES THAT YOU CAN EXPECT SOME SHORTAGES OR BASICALLY SHELVES BEING EMPTY THIS FALL AND MAYBE IN THE NEXT YEAR SO IT’S SOMETHING I THINK THAT EVERYBODY SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF AND BASICALLY PREPARE FOR SECTIONS START OFF WITH A Unicorn Sometimes One Middle Finger Isn't Enough To Let Someone Know How I Feel That's Why I Have Two Hands Shirt T Shirt GREAT VIDEO IT’S THE FORBIDDEN DISCOVERY IT’S A DOCUMENTARY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE DEVICES AND THE OUT OF TIME TECHNOLOGY AND ARTIFACTS SO WHAT WERE FINDING IS IN THE ARTIFACTS WERE FINDING SOME AMAZING TECHNOLOGIES THAT EXISTED AND THEY’RE TRYING TO PUT THE STORY TOGETHER OF JUST WHAT THAT MEANS AND WHAT THEY ARE AND ESSENTIALLY WHAT THAT MEANS IS THERE ADVANCED CIVILIZATIONS. Is going on I always felt smog like in LA nation encoders working guys encoder issues a little earlier know this will we get into topic number one what is the show works okay I can start working on the show like five or six the morning that a right shown us a graphics together Texas but togetherand we gotta get there notes I know that I need to come in around 10 o’clock sometimes just not a big piece of news breaksand we can get into the graft everything will happen today wonder woman for me to steal to to big business I guess wonder woman is going to be in a steel to she’s been asked one woman is none other than fastand furious is gal guy know I believe that’s a pronounced trainingand now so correct me if I’m at the station for names it says asked to confirm that it is officially confirmed this is our new wonder woman so she is still in this is our wonder woman this is out of nowhere now there was a rumor number we show that there were three women going into test for rolling ministerial to speculated I was for one woman but we did all three was gal it was monetaryand go there is a third actress I can remember thinking at the time of these would fit to be one woman so it will be for another role that they’re all going in for turn as wonder woman are going in for they selected her now before I give my opinion about this let me preface what I want to say with this I’m going to give this a shot when the movie opens going with check my prejudices at the door check my preconceived notions at the door going space a movieand I’ll judge it on some errands but since were talking outand we just heard about it I get my first impressions this is terrible terrible casting just awful for several reasons number one I was one of the simpler things out of the way I want 95 pound one woman dies a beautiful woman absolutely that’s gracious got exotic looking at one for woman what all I kind of stuff what incarnation when we look at where this accomplished animated movies or whatever one only 95 pounds we need somebody a little bit more like oh the enemy fire they were just type the other day who seems to some aluminum or physically do like her now rated you can get her on the horse steroids get her pumping iron as fast you can put aluminum ocelot but her frame I’m sorry that is not one of the other reason I have a problem with this is fastand furious she has been acceptable for the role she was playing but I’ve never look at her snatch something this actress cannot only play in a small sign role this actress put on her own shoulders carry a franchiseand you know that DCand Warner Bro are just planning on using a wonder woman just as a little side character ministerial to another user is now our wonder woman for the Justice league universe moving for you know the wonder woman franchise now based around her I never believed that she is the type of actress who carry a franchise sell for for those plus she’s language a little bit so for all those reasons physically I don’t think it’s a criteria I don’t think she has that level of acting ability to carry an entire major league franchise on her shoulders I just don’t see now maybe we’ll go see ministerial two 2015and she will blow our socks off we got it open the possibility it’s very possible escape our fingers crossed I like the casting decisions Warner Broand Zach Snyder made so far so we give them the benefit of the doubt my initial reaction is this is awful anyway we Campbell got back to town select training in the mail sort is not that I’m good to give her the benefit of the doubt I think whether she’s a great actress in the fastand the furious actorsand actresses always had to do different roles so if they saw that the actor you come up with your character firstand then go get the best actor for what were saying I not giving disclaimers to death here she might end up being awesome we have to remain open to that possibility comes from an island of Amazon’s who’s to say that all the position you incarnated in the same site as my or my quibbles with thisand she’s gonna bulk up she might not have the building frame of what’s the idealized version of one woman but in a mean that’s neither here nor there for me as long as they keep true to the actual characterand make a really cool character out of this version of oneand that’s all that matters in a I’m sure that they got it under control so I’m yes if I just as you were to hear that they cast downand out but now I’m in a just like Ben Affleck for minerals like wineand as I now is actually that makes a lot of sense so welland hope hoping I’m I’m right I wanted to be horrible here today I’m I’m I’m very negative on this I think this is a terrible decision but there is not entity anybody more hoping that they this was this that this is a stroke of genius I would hope that this is a stroke of geniusand that she can knock our socks offand is going to be awesome keep our fingers crossed my enthusiasm to love our lives who are official first topic today how long are you going to acquaint before considering the other to to the will of the over Email the other day we talked about where to’s go from hereand a list of three options that they had this was one of the options not because I don’t think it’s it’s a valid option facility because I never dreamed in 1 million years universal consider being already halfway done filming scrapping of they got reworked the scriptand start again that’s what they’re doing okay with it actually I’m totally okay that like logisticallyand makes life a lot simpler despite the fact that start over again then say trying to patchwork in makeshiftand very awkward departure of the Paul Walker character out of the film because it is not like they were 90 done filming they just had finished his last couple of scenes all that kind of stuff now once again on the actual options is not having their party replaced with another actor I will still firmly stand on the ground that you replace them with another actor absolutely replaced with another actor I mention this the other day but it bears repeating their some people say respect for Paul Walker you don’t replace them that’s bull crap that is absolute stupidityand nonsense because if you’re a guy like Paul Walker reported your heart passion mine soul strength everything into that characterand in that role you honor him by making it the best fastand furious ever there was some guy who is an architect right now this dream of a building this story skyscraperand when it was 60 stories tall he passed away he wants to go welland respect for him to stop it at 60 stories now you honor him you take that building all the way to where was supposed to go on the shoulders of what he built Paul Walker fast appears as important as the rock is become fastand furious is about Domand Brian this franchise is about is about Domand Brian anything planning to take us to fastand furious nineand 10 with Domand Brian on Paul Walker you take it to nine or 10 with Donand Brian this some people say well you know I will deal with you some Your Pl. Are troops Donald Trump supports our veterans you want to ask Donald Trump is paid all the taxes that he’s deemed not take the letter honestly it is a are troops I understand my order changes I understand what you want to change the subject and learning be very clear on this Russian thing the larger question here is someone we’re dealing with is is the and others an old proverb that says the Russian bear never dies just hibernates in the truth the matter is that we can feckless foreign policy Hillary Clinton Barack Obama has awakened an aggression in Russia that first appeared a few years ago with her mood in Georgia now their move into crime

While you were sleeping at The Open: Rory’s nightmare, Clarke’s smoking start, and a perfect ace
Tumblr media

While you were sleeping at The Open: Rory’s disaster at the first hole, Clarke provides the overnight entertainment, and the most beautiful kind of ace.
As European golf writer James Corrigan noted on Thursday morning, a paunchy and curly-haired 16-year-old Rory McIlroy missed a five-foot birdie putt on the first hole at Royal Portrush before blazing to his course record 61. At the same hole in the first round of the first Open at Portrush in almost 70 years, McIlroy missed another five-footer but this one was to “save” a triple bogey.
The tap-in for a quadruple bogey 8 and the parallel of the five-foot putts had me immediately re-reading a recent reminiscence of that famed 61 from the teenage McIlroy. In it, the typically forthright and insightful McIlroy admitted that he no longer has has the confidence of the 16-year-old kid that posted the 61.
“My confidence is probably more fragile now than it was then,” McIlroy said. “I had confidence and cockiness and sometimes I think I need to rediscover that a little bit even now.”
The 16-year-old starting quietly on a mostly empty Portrush carries a lot less weight than the Hall-of-Famer, purportedly in the peak of his career, playing as the betting favorite in the first major in his home country in 70 years. The common judgment and armchair psychology will be the opening quadruple bogey revealed the exposed nerves from the pressure Rory must have been feeling at this home Open. It’s the natural and quick leap to make and it’s not necessarily wrong. It’s just unknowable.
The quad outcome was likely just a mixture of mistakes and uncertainties, both mental and physical, at a horrible time. Standing on the first tee on Wednesday during a practice round with Justin Thomas, McIlroy blocked a ball way right and watched it sail out of bounds. Standing on the first tee on Thursday during a real round, McIlroy started his Open by yanking one hard left to cross the out of bounds stakes on the other side of the first fairway. Maybe that reduced 30-year-old confidence was shaken from the OB left ball on Wednesday and he overcorrected on Thursday. Maybe it was the nerves of being the headliner at a “home” Open. Maybe he’s just searching for a steady swing at the moment. Maybe it was a total fluke swing at the absolute worst time and with the worst consequences.
Here's Rory McIlroy's opening tee ball that went OB on Thursday morning at Portrush. It was a quadruple-bogey start for the Ulsterman. #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/nzxm2G4UXI
— Golf Central (@GolfCentral) July 18, 2019
Rory hitting three with a second tee shot was then compounded when he hit four into some traditional Open junk that forced him to take an unplayable lie. An OB ball and an unplayable drop all on the opening hole is maybe how the hungover 15-handicapper eases his way into his weekend round of 91. But not the Open betting favorite, course-record holder, and most talented player in the world. The sickening feeling set in that McIlroy had just been eliminated from the dream “home” win just 15 minutes into his championship.
It was painful. No one enjoyed watching it, even the snarkiest among us and especially not the Irish rooting on the home favorite.
Watching Rory make a quad on the first hole with Marty Carr (@CarrGolfTravel), son of Ireland’s greatest amateur. Speaking for all of Ireland, he says,”This is the cruelest thing imaginable. I feel this in my heart.”
— Alan Shipnuck (@AlanShipnuck) July 18, 2019
Even with Tiger Woods in the field, McIlroy was the centerpiece of this British Open. He’s not from Portrush, but he is Northern Ireland’s most accomplished golfer, has that history with this specific course, and has, despite some underwhelming major results, played arguably the best golf of his career this season. McIlroy’s ascendance in the last decade, along with major wins by Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell, played a significant part in the R&A deciding to bring The Open back to Portrush and Northern Ireland. Rory was going to be the main attraction of that return from the moment they announced it four years ago. It had all been building up to Thursday morning’s first round.
Tumblr media

The form and confidence of the 16-year-old to play in with a 61 after the missed five foot putt did not appear to be with him on Thursday. It’s a little easier to pick yourself up from a missed five footer for birdie than a missed five footer for triple bogey with all eyes watching you at a major. Rory continued to hit shots totally out of character and looked stunned on the subsequent holes. He hit a poor drive and blew an easy birdie hole at the second and then struck a horrible putt at the third for a bogey. At one point, he was a massive 10 shots back from the lead, which is an incomprehensible margin just a couple hours into a tournament for such a talent.
We’ve seen Rory blow up and slowly creep his way up leaderboards for the backdoor top 10. That’s certainly still in play this week, where the weather can turn and wipe out entire chunks of the field based on nothing more than when they slotted on the tee shot. But a top 10 is far different from the home win, which was the dream.
Rory maintained this week that he was competing as if this were a normal Open but that he was also going to “smell the roses,” as he said, appreciating the fact that this was being held in Northern Ireland again. He was operating on dual tracks this week. They weren’t necessarily in conflict, but he may only get two rounds to look around and smell the roses.
Overnight entertainment
Here is a sentence I did not expect to type when the first round started at 1:30 a.m. ET: It was an absolute joy to watch Darren Clarke play golf in the middle of the night on Thursday. I’m not just referring to the sentimental stuff, like the Senior Tour eligible player getting the honor of hitting the first tee shot in front of the home fans. That stuff was cool. But he was hitting some fantastic golf shots with long iron approaches into some of these repelling Portrush greens, even into the back nine as he came down to earth and finished even-par.
He was more than a ceremonial golfer, opening with birdie and making three in his first five holes to take the lead while sucking down lung darts almost one hole at a time.
love a sport where the guy given the honor of hitting the first tee shot at a major is ripping through smokes before 7 am local time pic.twitter.com/LdY9n2ZqlK
— Brendan Porath (@BrendanPorath) July 18, 2019
He was amusing, emotional, and awesome to watch actually play shots, real golf shots, into a course he knows so well.
When OB is OK
Rory probably disagrees, but the masochist in me loves the out-of-bounds on the first hole. It’s not a brutal opener — you can bunt a driving iron out there and make a comfortable par. But the white stakes are out there on both sides of the fairway just making things a little edgy in a setting where the best in the world are anxious to get started.
We’re getting a variety of scores at the first hole, too. Clarke, who had to hit driver, rolled in a birdie putt. Andy Sullivan was the first to go OB. Connor Syme holed out from the fairway. There was a the Rory debacle. And there were a bunch of safe driving irons and boring pars. Out-of-bounds, especially when it’s not technically a property boundary anymore, is controversial. But I’ve enjoyed the touch of tension it’s brought to the very first hole.
The old and new
It was a blast to watch players go for the par-4 5th green with driver and have the tracer technology there to cover it. The hole is measured officially at 376 yards but it’s downhill and had a helping wind that prompted Golf Channel’s Justin Leonard to say, “This is just a long par-3 right now.” Shane Lowry nearly hit the flagstick and Branden Grace came close just moments later.
If you overdo it on an approach, there’s out of bounds directly off the back of the green, which abuts a cliff that falls into the beach and ocean. The wind may change and make driver the wrong play. Stewart Cink remarked on Wednesday that he was hitting full 5-irons into a hole where he had a half-wedge on Tuesday. We all know and appreciate these changes as the beauty of links golf and a staple of The Open.
But early in the first round, it was driver at the 5th and it was awesome to watch. We had graphics and tools giving us real-time wind information, overhead hole layouts, and then the tracer allowing us to follow the ball flight all the way into a green jammed up against the cliff.
It was the best mix of old and new — tee shot strategy on an ancient links course with modern technology making it beautiful to watch.
The proper kind of ace
Every hole-in-one is great, but I think the most satisfying has to be the one that rolls in gently on one of the ball’s last few revolutions. Aesthetically, it’s beautiful but it also gives you more time to anticipate the possibility and hope.
Absolutely perfect! The first ACE of the week at #TheOpen comes from @GrilloEmiliano at the 13th hole pic.twitter.com/0chk8JDHMl

Job 37:1-39:30, 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10, Psalms 44:9-26, Proverbs 22:13
Today is the 31st day of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It's great to be here with you. Wow. Last day of the week, last day of the month, like everything's coming together as we prepare to move into the next season. And, yeah, looking forward to tonight at the family reunion here in the rolling hills of Tennessee. So, yeah, a good ending to a good month. I hope it's been good for you. What territory we have covered in the month of August and that we will continue to carry forward as we move into September. We’re reading from the book of Jon and we’ve got a little bit more…a little bit more to go. We've been reading from the New International Version this week. Today, Job, chapter 37 through 39. And just by way of reminder, you know, Job's been talking to his friends, his friends have been talking to Job. We know all that. And there's this Elihu, this other voice comes into the mix, a younger man whose been sitting and waiting and he's talking now. What Job wanted all along was to talk to God. Today when Elihu gets done God's gonna show up and God has some things to say of his own. And, so, let’s dive in. Job, chapter 37.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for another week that You have brought us through and we thank You for another month that You have brought us through. And even as we begin to close the chapter on this month and this week, we hear Your voice and the book of Job. All of the questioning, all of the advice, and then You have shown up with…with impossible questions that simply reveal we do not in any way know anywhere near all that we think that we know, and we have barely scratched the surface when it comes to knowing You. And yet, this is our desire, to know You, as Paul said, in spirit and in truth. This is our desire and we acknowledge that we, in our own strength, in our own minds we are only capable of so much and that is through a glass darkly, that is scratching the surface. And yet by Your Holy Spirit we can be led into all truth. This is what You've offered us, this is what You've given to us. And, so, we simply need to follow. Come, Holy Spirit, lead us into all truth we pray. In the name of Jesus we ask. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is the website, its home base, and it’s where you find out what’s going on around here.
And man, tonight or actually this afternoon into night, into this evening we’ll be at the family reunion here in the rolling hills of Tennessee. So, we’re looking forward to that, looking forward to seeing everyone and praying safe travels over everyone who’s coming into the Nashville area today. We are eager and looking forward to shaking hands and hugging necks and telling stories and being together and making acquaintances and rekindling friendships and all of the things that happen when we come together as a community. So, looking forward to that.
Here's a little bit of an announcement on the apps. We released a major update a couple days ago and we’ve been talking about that and immediately we were able to see a couple of little things that needed to be fixed. Those of you who experienced some checkbox issues and stuff like that…like…it’s really interesting because you can test and test and test but until you get something into the wild when thousands of people are starting to hit the system that you…you know…there’s like no way. And, so, we saw a couple of things there and the team worked very, very diligently to create what's called a hot fix. So, there’s a little update, just update again and those issues will go away as well as a couple of other issues. Those of you who are Android users should be experiencing…ahh…for the first time really stable performance. And, so, we can see that because we used to see crash logs, you know, like over a thousand crashes a day that have gone down to just about zero. So, we are making massive steps forward. And this checkbox issue…this has been such a frustrating issue since the get go. And what we've done is put a pretty big fix in place, but the next major update that we do, that will eliminate that problem forever. Like, that will be a thing of the past to the point that no matter what you do, no matter where you do it, it's in the cloud. So, it’ll  will be responsive no matter where you are. We were playing with it the other day where I had two different browsers up and I could like check the box of “listened” and it would immediately check…I mean…it happens no matter where you are. So, that's cool but that's…that's close. We’re close to…like…that’s the next phase. But anyway, I think we got the bugs mostly worked out, the little bugs the kind of revealed themselves once we had lots of people in the system. So, there's a new little update. Update and you'll be fine.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at dailyaudiobible.com. And I say every day, a humble word of gratitude and I think I always will because I…that's what my heart is…humble gratitude that we can even be here, that this community even exists, that the Lord would allow us to share planet Earth at this point in history. That we could all be together around the world doing this, that's humbling. The technology involved in doing this, like the effort in doing this is significant. And, so, I have humble gratitude that we do it together. It's that this is a community and that what we've done we've done together. So, I thank you for your partnership as we prepare to move into the month of September. So, there's a link on the homepage, at dailyaudiobible.com. If you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address, if that's your preference, is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hello DAB family, guess you? Terry the Trucker. Today’s our first day back in the truck. All has went well. Have not been nervous or scared. Maybe slightly, a couple percent, but I’ve gotta say it’s been a blessed day. It really has. Forgot to start my stopwatch so I’m gonna make this short and sweet. I just want to say thank you to everybody for all the prayers and the support over the last year and I know God’s got me. What will be will be because it will be his will. I want all of you to know that I continue to pray for each and every one of you and I hope to see you at the family reunion. I’ve got a truck I get a pickup in North Carolina. So, all I gotta do is get this one back to Texas by Friday, get reloaded, and head that way. So, y’all have a blessed week.
Hey, good morning brothers and sisters of the Daily Audio Bible it’s Tuesday, August 27th and I heard some fantastic calls today and I just want to lift up Wendy. Your voice is beautiful by the way. And I want to lift up the guy that works in the UPS in Columbia South Carolina the brother and I want to lift up the sister who’s having stomach problems. And I was just so moved by the last caller, the sister who has been clean from meth for nine days. Way to go! And I’m just praying over all of you and everyone else that calls in too. Father in Jesus’ name I lift up Your beloved children to You Lord God because You are able to do anything and there is nothing too hard for You. God with You all things are possible, and You have all power and You are able to heal and set free. You know what they need father God as we call out and lift them up father God. Please protect them, comfort them, give them exactly what they need as they cry out for You and we cry out for them. In Jesus’ mighty and precious name we pray. Amen.
Hello Daily Audio Bible family, this is Truly Thankful Taylor from the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas. I’m so excited. This is my first time calling apart from the Christmas card last year and I’ve been part of the Daily Audio Bible family, listening for about eight years now. I’ve been so encouraged through the years. I first want to say thank you to Brian Jill, Ben, China, Max, Ezekiel and the rest of the Hardin family as well as all the background individuals who consistently pour into this ministry and make it possible for us to listen daily and to be a part of this amazing family. I just wanted to reach out to some of my fellow people who have been a part for a long time. Joe the Protector, you’ve been on my heart lately. Praying for you, your daughter, and your granddaughter. Margo from Australia, my heart leaps every time I hear you call in. Know that you are consistently being prayed for throughout the week. Praying especially for your health lately. Love you my sweet sister and so many of you that are so thankful in calling. Annette, I’m praying for you. Just know you are loved, and your heart, it just brings so much joy to me as I hear you. Pastor Gene, His Little Cherry, Blind Tony, Victoria Soldier, and so many others of you I don’t have time to mention right now. But just know that I love you, I’m praying for you. For those of you that are new to this ministry and new this body, I just want to encourage you to continue to press in and seek the Lord. He is so faithful and will reveal Himself to you. God’s word does not return void. And just for those of you who have been on this journey a long time, I want to encourage you to keep going. It says in Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize, which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. You can do it and you can through the power of Jesus Christ who gives you strength. So, bless you everyone. I love you my family. Talk to you soon. Truly Thankful Taylor. Bye for now.
Hi DAB family I wanted to call in with a confession and then a prayer request. I’ve been praying for healing of several different relations...broken relationships in my life for the last several months and recently I have been tempted and also have given into the temptation of really trying to manipulate those relationships and taking them into my own hands to try and heal those relationships, which is not something that I can do on my own. So, the Bible says that if we confess our sins to one another and then the Lord will be faithful in forgiving no sense. So, I confess to you that I have been trying to take these things into my own hands and manipulating and telling some…some untruths for trying to repair those relationships. I ask that you would just, join me in prayer with regards to that and for the healing of those relationships. I still want those relationships to be healed in my life and those friendships and relationships to be restored. So, thank you so much for this amazing podcast. It has really made a huge impact on my life and thank you all for being such an amazing community, all the prayer warriors and I will talk to you soon.
Hi Daily Audio Bible, one of our own is suffering with brain cancer right now and I would like him to be lifted up in prayer. His name is Oli and this voyage began, ironically, less than two weeks ago and he’s already incapacitated to the point of not being able to walk. So, please lift Oli up in prayer and his beautiful wife Jessica. They have 11 children and all the prayer that can be used to bring forth God’s kingdom here on earth through this tragedy would be appreciated. And, of course, they need answers and we aren’t giving up on the miracle for a complete healing. Thank you, Daily Audio Bible.

Meet the People Keeping Mold-A-Rama Alive
Tumblr media
In 1971, sick of working in middle management in Chicago, William Jones purchased a number of Mold-A-Rama vending machines on a whim. He knew nothing about the technology, which produces injection molded plastic figures, and didn’t understand its appeal, but saw the purchase as an opportunity to do something new for a living. Little did he realize that almost 50 years later, his family would still be in the business, maintaining a collection of the beloved machines, which are as popular as ever at zoos, museums, and other attractions across the United States.
When Mold-A-Rama debuted at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair, the molds of the Space Needle, a monorail, and other fair-related designs drew as much attention as the unique production process, which remains the same to this day. After inserting payment, customers watch two sides of an aluminum mold close as it is injected with heated polyethylene pellets. In less than a minute, the mold opens, releasing the plastic object. The signature “waxy” smell hangs in the air as the hollow figurine slowly cools.
It’s not only nostalgia for the molds but this same, seemingly outdated process that keeps Jones in business. In an age when technology allows souvenirs to be more personalized than ever (see Japan’s purikura machines), the Mold-A-Rama’s simplicity is appealing both for those who grew up with the machines and new fans.
Tumblr media
The Mold-A-Rama was the result of decades of work by J.H. “Tike” Miller of Quincy, Illinois, according to a history of the company in Mental Floss. Miller began experimenting with miniatures in the late 1930s. It wasn’t until World War II that he found a lucrative niche in plaster nativity models when imports from Germany—the largest supplier of these religious figures—were blocked. In 1955, he switched to producing figurines through plastic injection molding. An eccentric, he became known for molds of dinosaurs, aliens, and even a Purple People Eater.
“[Miller] was one of the pioneers in the plastic era and stands out from all the rest with his unique way of molding plastic and the unique composition of the plastic material that he used,” says Ken Glennon, a Mold-A-Rama collector who is writing a book about Miller.
During the mid-20th century, after Miller licensed the technology to Automatic Retailers of America, the memorabilia took off at national and international fairs with about 300 molds in use. What set Mold-A-Rama apart from other toys and souvenirs at the time was that it gave customers insight into the products’ manufacturing, as it was happening, decades before 3D-printing.
Tumblr media
William’s son Paul Jones now runs the company, which was known as the William A. Jones Co. until 2011, when the name changed to Mold-A-Rama Inc. He remembers helping his father service Mold-A-Rama machines at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and Brookfield Zoo. By 14, he was getting to the zoo by 6 a.m., which he says “was like heaven. You get to run around. You get the whole zoo to yourself.”
Now in his 50s, Jones travels the Midwest maintaining 62 machines at nine locations, including the Willis Tower, the Field Museum, and the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Much of the machine’s appeal is the retro look; in 2006, William estimated that one in 10 people who pass a machine buy a toy. In addition to regular cleanings and occasional paint jobs, a major challenge is ensuring that the Mold-A-Rama produces a perfect mold almost every time.
Although some people assume the Mold-A-Rama is as simple as a vending machine, dispensing pre-made molds, “it actually holds a gallon of hot liquid plastic all day long at 250 degrees [Fahrenheit],” Jones says. Small changes in temperature or the number of molds produced can affect quality. On a popular day, one machine makes 100 to 150 molds.
Tumblr media
Only minutes from the Brookfield Zoo, the Mold-A-Rama warehouse is packed with out-of-commission machines and parts. Rows of repurposed Cheese Ball jars are full of clear plastic pellets mixed with dyes that melt together to create the vibrantly colored molds. Jones estimates he goes through 640 55-pound bags of pellets a year.
Jones also has an archive of more than 200 cast aluminum molds, including the 62 currently out in the field. He even owns some of the original molds, which were on display at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1962. His collection ranges from cute animals, such as a cartoon dolphin and piggy bank, to geographic-specific memorabilia, such as a San Francisco streetcar and the Houston Astrodome. During the holidays, he offers seasonal designs, including Santa Claus and a Christmas tree. He also has busts of all of the U.S. Presidents, up to John F. Kennedy. As Jones says, almost anything can be made in miniature.
Tumblr media
Glennon says the internet has played an important role in Mold-A-Rama’s continued popularity, with rare molds selling for hundreds of dollars online. Molds that are difficult to produce, such as a replica of Colleen Moore’s Fairy Castle at the Museum of Science and Industry, are some of the most sought after.
“[Miller] was the mass production master,” Glennon says. “He was like what Ford was to the automobile.... He marketed them by the millions. So they're all over the place. Years ago, before eBay, they were really hard to come by.”
Despite its retro appeal, Mold-A-Rama is far from a dead art form. In fact, new designs are still being commissioned, at the rate of roughly two per year. For the past 25 years, Lois Mihok, an industrial model maker with 60 years of experience, has crafted numerous molds for Jones, including a bison, Oscar Mayer Weinermobile, and an Edison light bulb.
Tumblr media
Mihok says Mold-A-Ramas are more complicated than some of her other projects because she has to ensure the plastic will easily separate from the cast once formed. Removing the mold becomes more difficult if it includes an extremity—a tail or a leg, for example. But at the same time, designs with more detail and texture can counterintuitively be simpler to conceive because it’s easier to hide the mold line that connects the two sides.
Although the 83-year-old says she’s never seen a Mold-A-Rama machine in person, she is excited that people across generations appreciate her work.
“For some reason or another, everybody loves miniatures,” says Mihok. “For the kids to put money into a machine and press a button and have something come out like that, they have an interest in it because they feel like they made it.”
Tumblr media
Jones isn’t the only Mold-A-Rama operator who continues the family business in plastic toy vending machines. Tim Striggow runs the Florida-based Replication Devices, which operates Mold-A-Matic (Jones has the Mold-A-Rama copyright) machines in the South and Midwest. Like many of the “handshake deals” in their businesses, Jones and Striggow divided the country into territories, with Mold-A-Rama machines currently in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Texas, and Mold-A-Matic machines in Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Ohio. While the companies operate independently, Jones and Striggow send new molds to each other and regularly talk through challenges in maintaining the decades-old machines.
In the late 1960s, after visiting a state fair and realizing the machines’ business potential, Striggow’s grandfather Eldin Irwin first leased and later bought several from Automatic Retailers of America, which owned all of Mold-A-Rama until it divested in the early 1970s. Around that time, as a pre-teen, Striggow had begun helping monitor his grandfather’s collection. He remembers meeting Mold-A-Rama fans as he traveled to summer fairs with the machines. Some of those people came to the same events every year looking for the latest molds.
Striggow never thought the business would continue, even when his mom and stepdad took over in the 1990s. Now some of his contracts are over 30 years old, and he employs his son-in-law. He says he has the largest collection of machines—around 120—with about half in operation, including one at Jack White’s Third Man Records storefront in Nashville.
White saw a Mold-A-Rama when he visited Chicago in 2005 and wanted one for the Third Man Records Novelty Lounge. The Nashville machine produces a “cherry red” model of White’s 1964 Airline guitar. Third Man added a second machine at its Detroit location with a yellow replica of the label’s mobile Rolling Record Store.
Tumblr media
“We like presenting people with these forgotten, cast-off processes and machines and giving them life,” says Third Man co-founder Ben Blackwell. “I imagine anyone who made these machines back in the day or was involved in their creation or maintenance would never expect that now—we're talking the year 2018—they're still working and people are still engaging with them. That's beautiful. You can't predict that.”
Despite Mold-A-Matic being somewhat of a competitor, Jones keeps a model of the Jack White guitar in his office display case, which also houses original Miller molds and the stick his dad used to mix melting plastic. Although he’s not opposed to modernizing his business, adding credit card slots to machines and staying open to unconventionally colored molds like the Lincoln Park Zoo’s green gorilla, he credits Mold-A-Rama’s longevity to the old-school, vintage style.
“It's a true form of American manufacturing,” he says. “All of the machines were made in America, made here in Chicago actually. There's a niche that they maintain. I think it helps that we have never tried to change it. We leave it right where it's at and pay honor to it and try to let it survive. It seems to be just doing that on its own at times.”
