19032022 - March holidays (Day6) #throwback Today wifey and I brought #arielinelimenning , #angelinelimenxi , #adelinelimenqi and #amberlinelimenting to @changiairport to take pictures with their favourite lollipops @chupachupsde The girls were totally mesmerised by the big and colourful lollipops and were all eager to take pictures with them. Spent a few good hours shopping at T3 before we adjourned to @jewelchangiairport for more shopping and dinner. Just when we thought this is still not enough, we pop over to @changicitypoint_sg for some more shopping before we ended the day. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on Day6 and cant wait for Day7. Singapore- Universal Studios

Before the end of dry dock- because we were making good time on our projects- we got a second day off!

This was very exciting and it meant that we decided to go to Universal Studios because who doesn’t love a good roller coaster.

Universal is a lot smaller than I was anticipating. All the ‘adult’ rides put together is like one “land” in Disneyland.

I’ve never been to a themepark that was not Disney so it was really fun to see rides based on other things I love.

The Jurrasic park ride is they’re water raft ride and is a lot of fun! There are dinosaurs, you get wet, you go down a big hill. What’s not to love?

There is also a Mummy roller coaster ride in the dark which is perfect for getting out of the hot hot humidity.

There is a stunt show based on Water World. Again due to the extreme heat and humidity this was a welcome respite. The show has pretty much everything- people falling from ridiculous heights into water

Being splashed with jet skis, Jet ski fights ,Pyrotechnics

And of course: They launch a Seaplane at you. Very cool.

The crown jewel of Universals roller coasters it the Battlestar Galactica roller coasters. It is divided into two halves- Human and Cylon. We went on the Human track right away. You have to leave all your belongings in a free ( for the first 45min) locker off to the side and they check before you enter the line. I have a feeling something bad happened in the past.

The wait for the coaster was only 15min when we first got there which is really good. The building that houses the line is all decked out with BSG memorabilia and “join the fight” posters. Some videos from the cast. The BSG nerd in me was having a ball!

The coaster is a lot of fun- a normal roller coaster with turns and hills and speed. Definitely gets your adrenaline pumping! And we got the front row right away! So lucky!

We waited to go on the Cylon side until after 2pm because that’s when everyone is having lunch and most of the tours leave.

The Cylon side is fantastic. Firstly the building that houses the line is designed like the inside of a Cylon ship ( again the nerd in me enjoyed it so much) and the wait was only 5 minutes. That’s not even a wait! For comparison around 11am it was 60minutes.

Again you leave all your stuff in a locker. The rollercoaster is a hanging one- where your feet dangle. You go on so many twists and turn upside-down and go on two loops through mist which is super cooling and amazing and your brain panics a little that you’re going to hit something.

When we got done the line was still only 5 minutes so we went two more times! The brilliant thing they do is when you get to the entrance you can go in a special “front row” line if you don’t mind waiting a few extra go arounds to get the front. So worth it.

Universal is not like some of the theme parks in the US where you can literally spend 12hrs there but it is a lot of fun and made for a great and memorable day.
