so i shuld probably start w this: im rlly tired its 1:30 am n this will mostly b incoherent i think.

OK. 1 of the 1st social medias i evr got as a kid wuz wattpad. ive made n deleted so many accounts.. the memories r craz,,, n e way, its mostly behind me now but i still check back on the website sumtimez n i check my notifs or whatevz. n sum1 i followed a while back is doing an apply fic that is basically like 6 percy jackson ocs.

now heres the thing.. i dont actually rlly kno what an apply fic is. but based on the description n other oc entries in the comment section its a thing where u giv the writer yr character n then they write it into a fic. which is p cool!! n i do luv 2 make ocs.

heres the other thing: i dont hav n e percy jackson-esque ocs so i had 2 make sum. n where did my mind immediately go?? ace attorney ofc cuz thats my obsession. so i decided 2 make sum ocs based on ace attorney characters. they were gonna b reeeeeally obviously ace attorney @ 1st but i didnt want it 2 b super easy 2 figure out so i changed up their names n gave em different designs n stuff. but basically they all hav the same backstories n personalities other than all the god stuff

turns out tho that i rlly like making knock-off percy jackson/ace attorney ocs so i made em like supa separate from their original ace attorney source n now theyre j kind of their own oc guise. i rlly luv how theyre turning out actually

N E WAY all of this 2 provide context 4 me 2 say that i wanted 2 save these designs n this ace attorney xplanation bc it was kind of a silly lil harmless prank way of me being able 2 say i snuck ace attorney characters into a percy jackson-esque fanfic even tho i didnt rlly cuz, once again, these r basically my ocs now. also idk if n e of em will actually make it into the fic yet. n i didnt want the writer of the apply fic 2 stumble upon my carrd (which is, yes, linked in my wattpad) n accidentally find my tumblr n see this post n then like. idk. disqualify me. "but beetle u didnt hav 2 tell tumblr n e thing abt these ocs!!!" well sumtimez u j wanna post art dude!!

note that 'rich' n 'dick' r both nicknames 4 richard, jay's name is basically 'scales of justice' n also his dad died, phoenix is so lazy that his name is actually j 'phoenix,' n spyridoula is i think j named the word 4 'spirit' in greek. also shes a hippie

not to be dramatic but i remember the first time i saw hakuno so well..... i was scrolling thru instagram when i saw this fanart of sir gilbert gamesh with her (too lazy to search it up rn but it was him whispering sth to her and her laughing!) and no joke, my first thought was who is this mysmes mc looking girl- I WANT TO PUNCH MY PAST SELF SO HARD FOR THINKING THAT BTW. i had vvv limited of fate at the time and only watched the fate/zero anime but i knew gilgamesh is a hard person to get along with (putting it lightly) so i got intrigued at that point. i literally just looked thru her wiki tho ngl. it was when i read a transcript(?) of the fate/extra here and that's when i fell in so deep!!! literally read it all in one go aND BOYYYYY THE FRIKKIN ENDING MAN, THE ENDING!!!!! but i will say, writing her def gave me a newfound appreciation for her!! i feel like i've 100% gotten a better understanding of her from writing her (tho that's also bc i do be writing her hc-based... ehe☆) and i feel like you could relate to this too tsunniepoo, which is how- you really come to appreciate them for what they Can be too, not just how they were in canon (US WITH YQ HAKUNO BOND TOO BTW 🥺🥺). rping her contributes to that too!!

WHAT I LIKE MOST ABT HER THO..... THATS A HELLA TOUGH QUESTION TSUN!!!! SGFJDHDH IT'D BE FASTER TO ASK ME WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABT HER NGL! skelly asked me this once too (before my thanos snap clean up 😳) and UUUUU THIS IS STILL SUCH A TOUGH Q!!!! i love her as a character so much..... she's so complex and unique, her character development is top notch and the way the cast and the story all play a role in it is just so -CHEF KISS- she is not a static character!!! so much development too, it makes me sad how extella pretty much forgets all of it 😭 but i'm gettin a lil sidetracked here!! i love her as a person toooo i love her personality!! she's so entertaining to follow, i love seeing how she responds to the situations she finds herself and i love!!! Her!!!! BUT IF FORCED 2 ANSWER...... i think my answer would be....

her heart 🥺 which you can really see in my portrayal, i hope!! her interactions with julius is one of my fav things in fate extra Ever, especially when the arena was all messed up and it was pretty much fuuuull of julius's hatred for hakuno but hakuno still kept going on and even tried to understand julius in spite of that!! i love how hakuno literally lost consciousness (even her servant got super worried!! it was That serious!!) just by being there but when she regains her consciousness, all she could focus on was julius's memory she'd just seen and how he seemed to be suffering. and then how the whole time she was just concerned abt julius.... says so much abt her character imo and i love it lots!!! really like how hakuno has been shown time and time again to knowingly risk herself for someone else's benefit and how a huuge thing in extra is always hakuno discovering those very compassionate and human values even when she starts out all hollow and empty :,)

the way she treats others and the morals and values she learns hits soo deep to me and personally really makes me feel some kinda way.. (a good way!) something something she was in a cruel and vicious environment and found out that her entire existence doesn't matter but still has a heart that's big enough to think of others and choose to hold onto kindness to the very end..... 😭😭❤️ veeery interesting too, because it's almost like a parallel to twice, who hakuno could've very much become if she didn't have a heart like hers! (that's a whole nother topic thooo <3) i feel like this trait of hers is soooo important, i really wish ppl noticed it more, it really sucks to not really see much (if not any) of it in extella </3 it's what makes her bonds and connections so realistic and unique imo, and that's my fav thing abt fate extra ;_; it's vvvv natural and not plot-contrived at all, really feels like two individuals developing a genuine bond. ofc it's not Just this character trait that makes me love hakuno...... there is sm to love abt her!!! there are many many little things that make hakuno hakuno that make me luvs her ❤️

2021... fic in review

for 2021 i am bringing back ye olde LJ meme style questionnaire. remember those? some of us never forgot.

i’ve taken out the questions that i have no answer for/am not interested in. and squeezed in some fic from the last week of 2020, bc i missed those in last year's roundup.

total wordcount: 15825 (ao3 main) + 3121 (ao3 alt) + 3942 (anon) = 22888

fic count: 7 (genshin) + 2.5 (hq!!) + 1.5 (ginsaji) + 1 (mashiro no oto) + 4 (various anime fandom drabbles) = 16

Looking back, did I write more fic than I thought I would this year, less, or about what I'd predicted? certainly more. in 1st part because i signed up for more fic exchanges than i’d initially anticipated (why did i sign up for s**j** exchange? we’ll never know lol) - which i blame two specific fandom friends for (and only one of u might read this but yes it’s true, i blame u both equally). in 2nd part because i locked most of my fandom socials and i no longer feel like i’m being perceived, which is kind of nice? in 3rd part because of general restlessness. what else was there to do this year for me hobby-wise besides write and run around? i don’t have that much money for drugs okay.

What pairing/genre/fandom did I write that I would never have predicted in January? komaba/kita because what the hell was that lol ?! just kidding, crossover pairings have been in my wheelhouse for ages. what was really unexpected was the amount of fucking porn i wrote this year. i never thought i was any good at writing it (& i still don't). but im glad that im branching out a bit more. it feels like i am pulling closer & closer yet to the essence of fanfic - that is, the horny porny broom of it all.

What's my own favorite story of the year? well that’s gotta be To the Nonfictional You. what’s not to like about a fic that u purely wrote for the sake of writing it? every year a drawer fic makes it out of the gdrive and this year it happened to be a pastoral soap opera. i’ll take that. tho luft HORiZON comes in at a close 2nd. it channeled into fic a lot of my irl humor, which is rare. and it felt nice to like my writing again. i’m relearning how to strike a balance between diet prose and the thick-cut purple stuff.

Did I take any writing risks this year? What did I learn from them? i mean, aside from the nc-17 content? probably doing all those drabbles. they definitely helped to reorganize and simplify my thoughts. if anything though it’s started to curl my nostrils up at certain narrative smells/prose structures that remind me of my old writing circa 2012~2014 - and i don’t like that. every type of fic has its merit, connie, when will u learn. so the biggest learning is that i am still learning. sounds about right.

my best story? quality-wise, it's either luft HORiZON or the ginsaji fic i wrote for yule.

most fun? shangri-la. ;)

biggest disappointment? bitter meat strategy - yes that’s me de-anoning, no i’m not going to elaborate. not because i don’t want to, but because i don’t have anything good to say about it. hahahaah

biggest surprise? shangri-la - i genuinely did not expect even 1 person to click on this fic. so thank you, if you did. i had fun writing it!

story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters? probably... the daiya drabble i wrote. i forgot how much i loved that series & its characters. i wish the hq!! guys were like the daiya guys. then maybe the fandom would be more my cup of tea too.

most unintentionally revealing story? lol what is writing but a method to reveal ur true self. but if it’s unintentional then it has to be that given drabble. if the music’s not analog synth then i don’t want it!!! jeez

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most: love is dead & it’s been dead for a while. take ur pick of a dead horse to beat: komaba ichirou at hachiken’s wedding, kunimi akira on the santa monica pier, or maybe even sawamura wakana at a garden concert in beijing. does it matter with whom or where ur love went to die? not in a million years dude.

Do I have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? to get out of my head. and clean up my gdrive drawer. vague goals only, because i can’t commit to anything. :p
