thinking about how when percy dropped from the arch, he probably thought he was going to open his eyes and see his mother. how he was prepared to reach the end and be greeted in the underworld, but he was instead sucked down by his father. how he had no reason to trust the water, but the reassurance of his mother’s words spoken to him allowed him to see one more day. how all he wanted was his mother and he accepted that the fate of death might lead him to her, but all he got was the fate of life with his father not even able to show. actively throwing up
