10. do you set yourself deadlines?

nah not at all. though often times that’s because my fics are so short they’re done within a day or two. but even with my 19k i didn’t so much as set a definite deadline as i was like “okay.. this is taking a long time.. let’s wrap it up” just to get myself to stop procrastinating when i very much knew how i wanted to end it.

11. books and/or authors who influenced you the most

as much as fredrik backman is my very favorite author, i don’t really write like him at all. he definitely inspires me to just write about whatever i want, cuz that’s definitely the attitude he has and i love it. i think i first Noticed a writing style while reading harry potter. and while i’d never consider j.k. rowling an influence, her writing style is very nice to me

15. how do you deal with writer’s block?

i just give it time. i take the break to just do other things, listen to music, go on walks. often when i’m stuck i try and see if something’s missing. which is something YOU my dear jess taught me. i reread and see what needs adding, why can’t the gap be bridged and/or why can’t it continue flowing as it has been.

25. favorite part of writing

oooh, goodness. probably getting into that mindless flow where the words are just pouring out and my fingers can barely keep up with the typing of them. when i have a scene so vividly in my head and it’s just so perfect for these characters it just makes me so happy.

34. what was the hardest scene you’ve ever had to write?

while the physical aspect of writing this scene was easy, it was so hard to write adam getting hurt and abused by his father. just cuz i love him so much and it HURTS knowing how different and happier his life could’ve been if his mother hadn’t died or his father had simply not been the worst. a lot of the dark/sad scenes for adam were hard, in that regard. i think that’s why i take so much pleasure in writing happy, fluffy, wholesome scenes between him and belle (and also their kids). cuz he spent so long tormented by not only his father but himself, he was so depressed and lonely. all this new joy in his life, joy that he undoubtably feels he doesn’t deserve, is now here and surrounding him and iT WARMS MY HEART IMMENSELY

i had to stop mid-scene otherwise i was going to stay up til 5am.

48. what’s the most self-insert character/scene you’ve written?

oh, you mean, besides the romanticized and idealized way in which i write belle and adam? my intense hopeless romanticism entirely projected onto them?? besides every scene i write between them??? okay

i mean honestly i think it must be from a fic i haven’t even published yet cuz it’s about my oc’s, adam and belle’s kiddos. essentially it’s their teen son up late and trying his best to keep quiet and then getting terribly caught by his father. in my case it would be my mom but, i definitely insert a lot of my night owl behavior onto their son. adam too, though.
