hello all!! i’m hayley n i’m excited to be here and introduce you all to my bby heath! he’s a reworked older muse of mine so i’m kinda working things out still but i would love to plot with you aLL! i’m about to head to bed bc,,, i have to be up early,,, and gmt problems... but if you leave a like i will come to you with all my best ideas in the morning! 

BACKGROUND!

the youngest of three boys, both with other varying nature names, heath is the product of two hippies who were chasing their lifetime dream of owning and running a b&b in camden, maine.

being the baby of the family, heath was always, well… babied… more than his older brothers. not that he ever really minded. he kinda loved the affection and extra attention

growing up, he really just enjoyed being around a lot of people? so a b&b was probably one of the best places for that. as he’d lie spread out on a rug on his stomach listening to guests’ stories and asking about their lives (probably contributed to the only 1 star reviews the place got on tripadvisor lbr) and particularly adored in the fall when spookier stories were exchanged

creativity was always fostered in their household and heath’s lying on the carpet kinda developed over time into his siblings and him playing elaborate games of pretend based on the stories they’d hear, which eventually!!! developed further into heath offering to record them so they’d always have a memory of it when they grew older

except he also became super passionate about filmmaking! which culminated when he was sixteen when heath made his first short film with the help of his brother who wrote the script. a debut characterised by heaps of imagination and vivid colouring, set on the coast in the height of summer and featuring some of the stories they’d heard over the years.

very idyllic and dreamlike as a result of his upbringing, this kinda transferred into the style of filmmaking he enjoyed most. most of the short films he’s made are sorta wes anderson-inspired focuses on visuals, but also think shrouded in some kind of scooby doo-esque mystery

by the time he was applying to college, heath was pretty certain he’d be applying to film schools. he’d developed a small showreel and had a couple of local accolades

attended nyu tisch with the help of scholarship funding and a pool of his parents’ savings and has kinda been haunting the city like a ghost ever since. when he moved into 405 it was basically the only place he could afford as he was still a student and on a part-time job/whatever stipends his parents were generous enough to give him budget!

he started working as a production assistant at nbc a year ago which… wasn’t exactly what he envisaged it to be, but ya know. getting some experience with witnessing how a production is run comes at the cost of taking everyone’s coffee orders

eve  muller  was  born  the  sixth  child  ,  and  only  daughter  of  a  super  christian  family  .  long  story  short  :  her  parents  were  crazy  strict  ,  and  religious  .  never  let  eve  live  her  life  .  when  she  got  pregnant  at  nineteen  ,  they  kicked  her  out  .  since  the  father  didn ‘ t  want  to  help  raise  his  daughter  ,  madeleine  (  named  after  eve ‘ s  obsession  with  the  french  pastry  during  her  pregnancy  )  she  struggled  .  a  lot  .

while  working  at  a  cheese  shop  ,  when  madi  (  never  madeleine  )  was  around  four  ,  eve  met  the  love  of  her  life  :  james  martin  . 

he  was  a  man  in  his  early  30 ‘ s  who  was  an  engineer  at  a  textile  company  in  pennsylvania  .  he  fell  in  love  deeply  with  eve  ,  and  having  no  children  ,  saw  madi  as  his  own  .  they  married  when  madi  was  seven  ,  and  he  adopted  her  before  she  turned  ten  .  she  knows  no  other  father  ,  and  sees  his  parents  as  her  grandparents  .

still  ,  remembering  what  it  was  like  to  grow  up  restricted  and  confined   by  her  parents  and  religion  ,  eve  always  taught  madi  to  be  unapologetically  herself  ,  and  to  reach  for  the  stars  .   

and  so  ,  she  grew  to  be  ---  a  hot  mess  .  her  mother  seeing  every  little  mess  she  made  as  a  sign  of  her  “ being  a  free  spirit  “ ,  and  she  could  never  do  anything  wrong  in  james ‘ s  eyes  .  she ‘ s  THAT  bitch  .  she  leaves  all  her  makeup  out  on  the  bathroom  counter  ,  the  hair straightener  plugged  in  .  she ‘ ll  do  the  dishes  when  she  feels  like  it  ----  yanno  ?

her  dad  working  for  the  textile  industry  definitely  influenced  her passion  for  fashion  ,  she  started  sewing  at  age  13  .  she  made  her  own  junior  ,  and  senior  prom  dresses   ,  and  won  best  dressed  as  her  senior  title  .

as  a  student  she  started  an  internship  as  a  “ personal  assistant “  with  a  new  york  city  based  up  and  coming  fashion  designer / instagram influencer :  coco herrera 

it  was  . . .  challenging  ,  to  say  the  least  ,  to  be  coco ‘ s  personal  assistant’s  assistant  .  it  wasn ‘ t  uncommon  to  find  madi  hand  sewing  flowers  unto  a  gown  at  4  a.m.  ,  nor  her  running  out  of  her  old  apartment  at  6  a.m.  to  get  her  coffee  .  it  was  ,  in  all  honesty  ,  a  bit  of  a  nightmare  .

still ,  against  all  odds ,  they  kind  of  bonded  .  in  a  different  ,  but  similar - ish  miranda  priestly  and  andy  sachs  kinda  way  .  

when  graduation  came  ,  her  plan  was  to  go  back  home  and  to  start  working  on  her  own  line  ----  however  ,  things  really  started  blowing  up  for  coco  .  success  ,  after  success  ----  she  asked  madi  to  stay  on  as  her  personal  assistant  ,  under  the  promise  of  growth  as  a  designer  within  her  business  ,  and  a  pretty  handsome  salary  .

two  years  later  ,  she  is  still  coco ‘ s  personal  assistant  ,  and  it  hasn ‘ t  gotten  easier  .  (  she  is  in  charge  of  the  intern  now  ,  which  is  kinda  cool  ) .  she  has  not  grown  as  a  designer  at  all  (  that  is  ,  if  you  don ‘ t  count  the  uncredited  ideas  she  has  given  coco  )  

but  hey  !  the  money  is  good  ,  and  she  doesn ‘ t  really  have  anything  really  promising  (  work  related  )  to  go  back  to  in  philly  .

she ‘ s  really  a  hopeless  romantic  .  (  her  mom  and  dad  are  so  in  love  you  know  ,  she  wants  that  )  she  believes  in  the  new  york  fairytale  ,  and  in  finding  her  true  love  here  ---  a  meet  cute  ,  and  a  rom - com  ending  .  the  problem  is  ,  she  thinks  all  meets  are  cute  . 

she  dates  absolute  assholes  .  and  every  time  a  relationship  reaches  it ‘ s  predictable  end  ,  she  will  cry  watching  rom - coms  ,  and  swear  off  men  over  a  tub  of  ice - cream  .

she ‘ ll  show  up  two  weeks  later  ,  giddily  talking  about  some  guy  named  chad  ,  whom  she  met  at  some  event  or  other  that  her  boss  had  her  attend  .

nikolo acosta was born in long beach, california; the third child to dr. rachel & gio acosta. he mostly grew up around his two older sisters who would babysit him while their parents were working day & night shifts at the local children’s hospital. they’d often dress him up like their own personal ken doll and pull pranks on him but when shit hits the fan, they’re the first ones to drop everything and run to his aid.

more  often  than  not  gets  into  trouble  for  being  a  little  to  reckless.  he  still  enjoys  doing  graffiti  and  can’t  deny  he’s  been  fined  a  fair  few  times  and  committed  to  community  service  for  his  illegal  hobby.

history. (tw organized crime, murder, injury) (tl;dr at bottom)

grew up in the mafia, the quarantas of milan. his mother did genuinely love him, but to toughen him up his grandfather didn’t allow her to hold him once he turned three. still, when he had tough days, she’d ask his maid to keep his bedroom window open when he went to bed, and she’d sing lullabies for him from her balcony.

he was made to be a vicious man, but when he met his art teacher, a gift from his mother, he loved him instantly. he was a father figure to rafael. but his grandfather, the kingpin of the quaranta family, noticed he was getting attached, and had him killed in front of a ten-year-old rafael. when rafal cried, his grandfather ordered every finger in his left hand be broken, so he’d be unable to draw for a long, long time.

once he and his mother were alone, she pulled him into a hug, and whispered into his ear the name of his father, doctor jonathan thomas, in new york city. rafael ran away the next day, his mother taking out the guards from the balcony. it wasn’t until years later rafael learned she’d been killed.

rafael smuggled himself out of italy and into a boat, draining his rations and almost starving at sea before he came to new york. he lived on the streets for a couple weeks before he managed to track down doctor jonathan thomas, who is the preeminent cardiothoracic surgeon in new york city.

once he got the paternity test done, jonathan promptly shipped rafael off to boarding school in switzerland, even though rafael was terrified to go near italy. thankfully, it’s an extremely guarded school, and he was safe there until he finally graduated. he changed his name to thomas in that time; quaranta is extremely known.

does everything to make his father proud. has excellent grades, was in like all the fucking extra curriculars, has stayed so fucking clean it’s unbelievable, went to harvard where he majored in chemical and physical biology, and got early acceptance to grossman school of medicine at nyu. wants to become a doctor just like his father. originally he wanted to be a surgeon, but he’s not so sure anymore.

tl;dr born into mafia in milan, escaped after having his art tutor killed and all his fingers broken, found his father in nyc, wants to impress him so bad to this day and become a doctor just like him.

mother was a model, father was a ceo. long story short, their lives were became busier than they expected when they planned to have robin, but they don’t regret having her. everything was fine and dandy for a couple of years. it wasn’t till high school that things were changing. her dad wanted her to do what he said and demanded. to work the hardest in her entire school and someday take over his company. which was something she wasn’t interested in, but continued to obey to make her parents proud. it was when her senior year arrived that she decided she didn’t want to listen any longer. her dad decided to cut her off, but her mom gave her a short break. she gave her money to stay at an apartment over the summer and it gave her enough time for robin to get her own job. now, she doesn’t really talk to her dad, only her mom. 

entering college, from her freshman year to half of her junior year, she was extroverted and gregarious. she would go to all the parties, hang out with friends almost everyday. she soon dated someone and things were going quite well for the pair, but soon enough, things happened between them that just broke her heart. it made her want to isolate herself, be more alone, and not deal with that kind of pain anymore.
