What I enjoy about this scene is that the Warriors 3 4 think Loki is up to no good, and he is, but he's not up to the specific no good they at first assumed. You and I in the audience know Odin really did just fall asleep to avoid resolving the plot to soon but they don't, and then Loki gives them the most insincere-sounding explanation possible (it has to be deliberate, he's far better at lying in other scenes) and then Sif is clearly planning something after that (and she can lie more convincingly too!) and basically I find this whole thing hilarious. These people don't even like each other enough to pretend that they're not planning to fuck things up somehow.

#i've seen ppl complain that the w4 “committed treason” - first of all what do you have against treason? it can be a lot of fun actually!#secondly: so you agree? people should just do whatever authority figures tell them even if it seems morally and/or legally dubious?#i was rewatching this scene for Fic Research Reasons but i should do this more often it's a good lark they're all having a fun time here #they think he's done treason and he thinks they'll do treason because of his treason and u kno wot mate? i support the lot of them.#thor brackets twenty eleven close brackets #do we know if TVA!Loki is manspreading in his tree-throne? i hope he is. it'd add some much needed levity to that situation.#mcu tag i guess #queue

the first Thor movie has (some of) the same plot as the McGann DW thing: science woman accidentally almost kills a hot alien man and after an interlude in a hospital she dresses him in her ex's clothes. other than that they've not really got anything in common i suppose. BUT. but.

probably an old and lukewarm take and the movies thereafter don't do this so it's probably accidental but in Thor Brackets Twenty Eleven Close Brackets both brodinsons learn that "you deserve to be king! it is your birthright!" is bullshit, but one of them learns that it's because he doesn't actually have the magic special family bloodline and the other learns that it's because if you travel a few kingdoms away and don't take an army with you then everyone you meet is going to assume you're just a peasant anyway.

bestie who i previously convinced to watch thor colon the dark world has now seen thor brackets twenty-eleven close brackets as well. she reckons it is an odd, confusing film, where the sum of its parts is a bit disappointing but also how did all those parts end up together in the first place. there's a good film in there! but there are also a couple of bad/mediocre films in there.

#btw on the IMPORTANTEST issue she agrees loki talked thor into the jotunheim trip #and said if you made a film with loki in it and he DID NOT fuck with people then why bother? wouldn't you just call him Dave then?#dave the brand new character none of the audience will expect to fuck with people. and he won't! because he's dave.#but it's quite fun laughing at how fucking gullible thor is in this film that doesn't have dave in it. (he could trust dave obvs.)#this film doesn't work that well as a vehicle for thor does it? what with him being in one of the less interesting movies it contains.#friend also reckons brannagh probably winced every time it confused kings and regents cos he DEFINTELY knows the difference #THIS IS HOW THE WARS OF THE ROSES STARTED YOU KNOW #is the regent thing a relatively minor complaint? yes but everyone else is allowed petty complaints so that means i am as well.
