i think it would be funny for a game to have like bosses or summons or side chars named after gods and make them have Absolutely Fucking Nothing to do w the gods theyre named after. as in like, not just "oh this is a revision of the myth of hades and persephone and we switched up some personality stuff and-" no just straight up have a summon named Hades and the descriptions like "ancient people believed him to be the god of the Sun, beckoning the morning in by playing a song" just fucking make up a backstory wholesale. it would annoy people a lot probably and itd be funny.

#literally nothing matches any of the classic myths EXCEPT FOR like. oh their weapon actually is this obscure ass reference #buzzy #thought of this while seeing what Odin Final Fantasy looked like and while theres definitely connections w myth odin #i just thought it was funny bc the design is very non-typical #like slephnir is there and everything but the design as a whole just doesnt say Odin to me and i thought that was funny #tho disclaimer im not an Odin Expert so there could be deep cuts in his design and everything im missing #he wouldnt be an example of this at all like ff odin has enough Odin that im like okay yeah sure thats odin his appearance simply inspired
