reason number 94142 why webcomics are good: i can't think of many safer options in this day & age for a little kid than plunking them on a browser with an adblocker and letting them read an (age-appropriate) webcomic for as much as they like. it's got all the benefits of like kids' youtube minus The Algorithm

#and plus reading #tis i #source for this is me. my mom did this to me #when i wasn't watching kids minecraft youtube with my brother or something #times have changed. also i was not necessarily reading an age-appropriate webcomic.#times have changed. youtube will Algorithm you and there are probably definitely more kid-friendly webcomics #i mean fuck one of the big things about webcomics is their tendency to have fat archives to go through #what's better for a bored kid on the internet than that #and- for lack of a better way to put this -with how long it's been since i was a wee bab #again i do think there's a fine amount of kid-friendly webcomics out there #admittedly unspecific dialogue #note how i'm saying kid-friendly more than for kids #one of the ones i frequented as a youth was incidental comics which isn't For Kids #it's not Children's Media but it was kid-friendly & my mom was a librarian so #she would've showed them around for me to see even if i wasn't fond enough of them on my own time already #uq #*my mom still is a librarian for clarity's sake
