Patria Transfers Technology of AMV XP 8×8 Production to Slovak Company CSM Industry

Slovakia has embarked on the transfer of technology for producing Patria AMV (Armored Modular Vehicle) XP 8x8 armored vehicles. Spearheaded by the Slovak company CSM Industry, this initiative marks a significant milestone in the nation's efforts to enhance its armored vehicle inventory. Under the guidance of experts from Patria, CSM Industry has commenced the manufacturing process for the first vehicle at its facility in Tisovec. This endeavor underscores Slovakia's commitment to self-reliance in defense production, with the facility poised to become a cornerstone in the nation's defense industry landscape. The collaboration between Slovakia and Finland, encapsulated in a comprehensive deal, encompasses the production of 76 armored combat vehicles as part of the BOV 8x8 program. The contract, inked in August 2022, solidifies Slovakia's pursuit of NATO commitments while fortifying its domestic defense capabilities. Scheduled for delivery by 2027, the Patria AMV XP transporters will feature cutting-edge technology, including the remote-controlled Slovak Turra 30 turret and the formidable 30mm GTS-30/A cannon. The remotely operated weapon system also includes a SPIKE LR/LR-2 anti-tank guided set, a 7.62 mm machine gun of the FN MAG or PKT type, and smoke grenades of the GALIX or HOLE type.

It is called Slovak route 66. It's because it is surrounded by great landscape, but for me also because its history... . Just few centuries ago, it was well known for iron ore, magnesite, copper ore, bronze... you name it.. in these villages and small towns electricity was sooner than in Kosice. Cultural life was on rise... . Suddenly, natural wealth was all mined, job opportunities quickly dissapeared, and so the people. . Nowadays we call these parts of Slovakia - the hunger valleys. . Driver's Eye View - Plešivec to Muráň - (Slovakia) Timsvideochannel1 Published on Oct 3, 2018 Our fascinating railway adventure through Southern Slovakia from Tisovec to Kosice including little used branch lines, continues with a trip from Plešivec to Muráň. Freight originates at number of industrial sidings along the route although the final leg to Muráň looked as though it had not seen a train for many months. The line passes through pretty countryside with mountains beckoning on the horizon for much of the final leg of the journey. Ride in the cab to enjoy the views normally only available to the driver.
