like. if your takeaway from dune part 2 is “omg paul x feyd” i am seriously doubting your capacity to interpret film and media. there’s legit conversations to be had about sci-fi as an extension of the Western genre and then as a vehicle for orientalism (which dune relies on but also refutes in some ways) or even if you don’t want to be critical of the genre itself we can talk about the role of the women characters in dune part 2 as honestly fairly fleshed out characters who have all of the real power in the story. but nooooo you found two white men and you haaaaaave to ship them
