"Why are you avoiding me?" ~Newt~

Y/N watched Newt from the distance. She watched as he worked in the gardens, talking to Thomas. Thomas just returned from his run in the maze and he and Minho think they might have found a way out of the Glade.

She would want nothing more than to leave this place, but it was a dangerous move and it wasn't a risk she was scared to take.

Newt locked eyes with her and quickly she looked away. She didn't want to face him because she knows he will talk to her about leaving. She stood from her spot and left for Homestead.

 Later that day it was after dinner and Newt had all the Gladers stay for a meeting. Y/N remained silent sitting beside Chuck and Frypan as Newt went on to talk about leaving. Gally stood still angry with is arms crossed, she knew she wasn't going to leave the glade, and she knew he blamed Thomas and Teresa who arrived just two days ago were to blame for everything wrong that was occurring.

"I understand that this means entering the maze and risking everything...but if we can stand a chance and find a way out...it will be worth it." Thomas said, he seemed to be convincing everyone around her.

"What we have here is good, we learned to survive and things don't need to change." Gally argued.

"We could leave and find out what is really happening...maybe find out who we all used to be." Teresa defended. "This is no way to live."

"She is right...we will take a vote." Newt added. "Who ever wants to join us stand up and come over with us...who ever wants to stay join Gally." Everyone in the room began to stand and make their choice. She nervously stood up but didn't move. She was the last one without a side.

"Y/N...come on." She heard Chuck say to her.

"You need to make a decision." Gally said to her coldly. New looked at her but still she avoided his gaze.

"I...I don't know." She felt the tears begin to burn her eyes.

"You need to make a choice love." Newt said to her. She looked down and shook her head, she turned away and left without saying another word. She ran towards the box and cried.

 "Y/N...why are you avoiding me?" She turned and saw Newt walking towards her.

"Newt I am scared...I am terrified to leave." She admitted to him.

"And you think I'm not? But I would never let anything happen to you in there."

"You cant say that." She sobbed. He took her hand and pulled her close to him.

"I can because I would risk my life to save yours." She wrapped her arms around him, embracing his comfort. "I don't want to leave here without you by my side."

"I...I'll go with you." She whispered.

"I promise you will make it through that maze." She nodded her head and nd hugged him tighter.
