'The bed'-

Perks: seems more routine, sowft snuggly nest to daydream and swoon in, [darling] collage on the wall, '... okay, what have you been doing with that pillow...?'

Drawbacks: Limited space, have to take stability/sinking into account with props, perspective is Hard and I will make that headboard look good or die trying

'The floor'-

Perks: seems more impulsive, more yan/NEET clutter potential (more room to spread out), a glimpse under his bed (and at all the [darling] stuff he's got shoved under there)

Drawbacks: That carpet is UGLY, I will probably (definitely) bite off more than I can chew trying to fill all that space with props, it hurts my Everything just thinking about lying on the floor like that for too long

I’m so incredibly late to the game but ITS SPOOKY MONTH!!!!

Ok but fr I actually sat down and watched all of Spooky Month recently and though the style matched mine too well so I just NEEDED to draw them- I think they turned out so well lol (can you tell I really like Jack and John 💀)

I didn’t mean to do screenshot redraws but that’s what ended up happening, even though they’re real messy so 👍

2023 YEAR IN REVIEW!!!

My artstyle changed a lot this year, especially after my shift from ibis paint to procreate after getting my iPad (drawing on an iPad is the BEST btw 100% recommend I love it way more than a phone and it didn’t die after a month like my old wacom 💀💀). I’m relatively happy with where my art is atm and I hope to continue to improve in 2024!

Explanation of all the silly art down below! (Mostly so I can tell y’all who the fanart is for but also cause I like rambling)

January: A drawing of my Rise Leo human design I did to test out a pixel brush I found for Ibis Paint. He’s very fun to draw hehe I need to draw him more-

February: I wanted to learn how to draw the future designs of Leo and Mikey along with CJ so I planned to draw them all together! I struggled with Leo though so I just got rid of him. Sorry Peepaw 😞😞💔💔💔

March: Fanart for @beannary ‘s TLP au! I love it so much so I had to draw smth for it hehe 😈😈💥💥💥 which reminds me I need to draw more at some point- might redraw it at some point cause I’m not super happy with how it turned out but I do like the idea a lot

April: The month I created Reticent! April’s Fools was the first episode I came up with so I drew a chapter poster! It ended up being very different to the chapter cover I drew a couple months later but it’s still cool :D Leo is being weirdly affectionate to Mikey though what the heck that isn’t like him smh. Although I guess it was meant to be purposefully exaggerated sooooo 🥰

May: Reticent Casey!!! I don’t have much to say it’s just Reticent Casey HDKSGXKSHD this wasnt a very good art month

June: Krangified Donnie is literally my favourite concept ever thats it that’s all I have to say dbskdbwkh I adore Krangified Donnie and if the Rise brainrot takes over the Reticent brainrot for a while then I will probably be drawing Krangified Donnie during that time sorry not sorry

July: Reticent Chapter 3’s cover yippee!!! Still my favourite Reticent cover although Chapter 8’s is a close second (I can’t wait to post it once it’s been betaread yippee!!!). The scribble over Leo’s eyes is literally just because I was struggling to draw his eyes and i was getting annoyed dbskdbskdb it’s actually a very common issue with him (common Ret!Leo L). Also Mikey being reflected in the mirror is a reference to Mirror Man by Jack Stauber which I’ve basically considered his theme song since @aaronymous999 introduced it to me ebwjcbkwhd thank you Mr. Aaronymous! Also somebody said he was in the barbie box and I still need to draw that to this day because Mikey would’ve killed to go see Barbie.

August: RET DONNIE WOOOOO he’s being bullied again!!! I drew that piece for a colour palette challenge request and realised I got the prompt wrong so I just made it into its own thing 💥💥💥 it’s usually a flickering light gif but I chose to just use the version with the light on for this post. The photos in the background were really fun to draw hehe either April’s or Mikey’s is my favourite.

September: MY 500 FOLLOWER DTIYS YIPPEE (/my 150 follower DTIYS for tumblr). This one took me. Forever to draw and I love it to pieces hehe it was really fun to design Mikey’s room and figure out outfits for the sillies and idk the concept of a sleepover just seemed really fun to me dbskbdkdb- and all the entries I got were so so awesome I loved them all to pieces!!! I still look at them all the time hehe

October: FANART OF @endlesslogo ‘S HUMAN RISE LEO DESIGN WOOOOOO!!! This was the piece I started rendering on hehe it was so much fun to draw!!!! Although I did have a fight with rendering the hair for over an hour svsjegksbdk HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT FR!!!

November: Me and my friends were working on a crossover between our TMNT iterations so I drew all of our Karai’s together!!! Confluence Karai is on the left, created by Salem and Marine, New Stars Karai is in the middle created by Starla, and Reticent Karai is on the right created by me! All our Karais have such cool designs AHHHHH literally dead over them constantly/pos

ok so as someone who still doesn't have their own distinct style at the age of 23 im hopping on the train of old vs new dteam-related art

the first image is from june of 2020. i was just starting to get into dteam content and wanted to make something based on george's minecraft but i have to carry my friend video. next to it is a redraw made more than 2 years later in august 2022.

ive drawn like. a lot of just dream but most of it has been pre-fr. pic one is a recreation of how dream looked in a dream I had in nov 2020, and pic 2 was like the one post fr drawing of cc!dream id made ~june or julyish bc it was missing dream hours

I'll show more general art progress below the cut (edit: having a read more fucks the post up for some reason so :/) but all of this to say that art is a process that takes lots of practice! there will be hiccups! you might go through stages where it seems like it looks worse, but it's always darkest before dawn, yknow? just keep drawing and doing what you love

this is one of my oc couples, matthias and tristan. I have been drawing them since i was 14. I go through stages of using different materials and redesigning them but it always comes back to them as a marker of how much and where i have/haven't improved

digitally too we have a lot of improvement (2020 vs 2023). I made these both on my phone with my fingers btw so don't let a lack of tools dissuade you from creating things

considering this as my OoC engagement present to Chal & Bel, in redoing that linked pic that I have wanted to redo since the moment I drew it, i just had to wait until i generated enough art ability to actually accurately and tenderly illustrate the scene we were writing. FINALLY GOT IT!

godd many of u have been around since the early dayz of Chal’s entire adventures and have been following all the updates for literal years, and so maybe to you too it is also  absolutely insane to think that here now, years later after this took place -  like this convo was the convo that first made my personal shipping lightbulb go off, they werent even close to getting together then!!!!!! - that theyre about to get MARRIED????? fr fr almost teared up drawing this. i literally love them SO much

anyway i definitely could have made Chal’s hair look so much worse here but i GUESS it’s fine. Chal belongs to me; Bel, (and still that first quoted dialogue line), belongs to @fenixethekid!

goob morning bungus !!! i bring you many scout things all at once bc it's easier to format (and so you don't have to track em all down)

definitely has adhd. constantly moving all the time. if he is forced to sit still for long periods of time he will get so fucking irritated and jumpy and as soon as he can stand he Will be sprinting out the door and running laps for the next 40 minutes.

hyperfixating HARD on the saxton hale comics. he could describe the plot of any volume with ease but if you ask him what event comes before another he will start blanking and killbind /hj

very loud all the time. has zero sense of how loud his own voice is, and it shows. he uses it to his advantage though, he knows if he calls out anything about enemy location or what they're all doing Someone will hear him.

(forensics minor time) has very messy, angular handwriting. light lineweight due to being written very quickly. large letter size, inconsistent letter spacing, and tends to float off the page. open Es and Os, letters tend to connect and blend together, crosses Ts right of center with a curve bending up. it's very distinctive when compared to everyone else's. engie probably has little notes from him tacked somewhere in his workshop, he says he thinks the way scout writes is nice to look at, but really it's because that's his Freakin kid

is it canon he's an artist? i see it referenced a lot in fic but i haven't looked for sources. anyway if it wasn't already, it's canon now. he draws in a similar way to how he writes: loose and angular, messy, but not unintelligible. it's like watching a figure drawing class. he likes redrawing his favourite panels from the saxton hale comics

he... really loves his team. he's generally just a cheery guy, even if a little cocky and headstrong. if anyone tells him they're proud of him he Will start crying though (same bud).

has adhd 1000%. literaly just constantly fidgeting all the time constantly (just like me fr). sometimes someone’s like what are you doing with your hands and he’s like what? I’m not doing anything and hes doing one of the Z-move dances or whatever from sunmoon

he draws fanart of the saxton comics. you can’t convince me otherwise. he keeps a special sketchbook in like a locked box under his bed for it and if anyone found out he would beat them to death. I think he has a huge massive crush on saxton hale too but tries to ignore it whenever possible (to be clear I. Don’t really ship scout/saxton. I just think itd be funny)

he has one of those voices that just like… sound like they fill up the whole fuckin room and not really in a good way. like I have a friend irl who’ll whisper as quiet as he can and you can still hear it 10 feet away. it gets suuuuper annoying to listen to after a bit whether or not you’re annoyed by him in general but it does make him a really good candidate for doing callouts and stuff. which is also good when he’s literally the scout. his job is to scout ahead. if he sees you every single person on the other team will instantly become aware of your location and it’s not very fun a lot of the time

like this analysis of his handwriting. and it’s definitely true. and the engy thing too. he’s about the most sentimental person to ever sentiment and he plays it off sometimes like he isn’t but like uou Said scout wrote him a “happy birthday engi your pretty cool” birthday note 3 years ago and he STILL starts crying if he looks at it for too long. if scout were a tiny little bit observant he’d probably notice he can get engy to do literally anything if he calls him dad and gives him a picture frame or something like that

he draws a few pictures of spy getting hit by cars and stuff in Expiration Date and iirc there‘s some allusions to it in general canon. it’s not a big character trait or even really called out at all but we see some of his drawings somewhere and they’re pretty good. the thing about his drawing style is true and I alreadhy talked about saxton fanart so yes I agree

he loves everyone. mean scout is overrated. you know all those competitive lines where he’s like “ok guys we’re besties. ok guys I have a birthday party coming up I want you guys to come up. we’re doing such a good job we’re such good friends” I want to see more of THAT scout in canon. why don’t we have it. give him to me

he truly IS the guy ever. I think he’s like cringe fail but in a quirked up way. yknow? little man trying his best and we love him for it
