Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s ukiyo-e prints of Nobunaga and his son Nobutaka, from his “Taiheki Heroic Tales” ( 太平記英勇傳 Taiheiki Eiyuu-den) series.

At the time there is a common tradition to obfuscate the names of Sengoku figures due to government censorship. As such, Nobunaga’s name is instead written as “Harunaga”. In full, the label says “Oota Kazusa no Suke Taira no Harunaga-kou”. Kazusa no Suke being one of the first official titles Nobunaga held, and Taira because Nobunaga supposed himself a descendant of the Taira clan. 

To match his father, Nobutaka’s name is styled as “Harutaka”. On the print his name is written as “Tanbe Jijuu Taira no Harutaka”. Tanbe being an obfuscation of Kanbe, the family Nobutaka had been adopted to. “Jijuu” (chamberlain) is the court rank that Nobutaka had indeed held in his life. The Taira name is as Nobunaga above. 

The image of "Harunaga” ripping apart bellflower banners is, to my best knowledge, a scene from the kabuki play “Toki Kikyou Shusse no Ukejou” 時桔梗出世請状 (The time of the Bellflower’s Bid for Success). The play is also known as “Badarai no Mitsuhide” 馬盥の光秀 (Mitsuhide and the horse tub) or "Toki wa Ima Kikyou no Hataage”  時今也桔梗旗揚 (The time is now, Raise the banner of the bellflower). There is a print depicting a similar scene, also made by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, with actor Sawamura Tosshou in the role of Harunaga.

In the play, Harunaga ordered Mitsuhide to entertain Sesonji Chuunagon, who had been appointed as imperial envoy to Gion shrine. When Harunaga inspected it, he found that Mitsuhide had decorated the place with his own bellflower crest banners. Displeased, Harunaga tore them down.

This is like a mashup of 2003′s “Complete Song Box” and 2006′s “Zenkyokushuu,” only with a lot less content: it’s got 120 songs, while the aforementioned collections had 139 and 122, respectively. For the price, though, it’s still a good deal for people who just want a lot of Sakura Taisen songs, not necessarily all of them.

Songs with a “—” instead of a number are songs that were part of the physical collections but that are not included in the digital version

[translation and lyrics] 創造のイデア by Ariabl’eyeS

Loose song from the 2014 collaboration album Sephirotic Traumerei. The album has a pretty nice concept: a ton of different bands all doing one song for each of the Sephirot, and the bands featured include some of my favorites: Ariabl’eyeS, Dragon Guardian, Resonecia and most notably Iron Attack among others. Needless to say I was pretty excited to check it out, and then massively disappointed because most of them phoned it in lol (specially iron attack).

Anyway, this one’s pretty ok because it opened the album so they couldn’t screw it up right away. It goes by the lowermost of the sephirot, Malchut or “Kingdom”, and it’s about a fallen kingdom coincidentally. It’s a pretty ok song, we’ll be doing two other ones from the album rather than the whole thing. Lyrics down below and see you all soon.

Monster Strike Third Film's Main Trailer Features Theme Song by Masayoshi Oishi

    The official website for Monster Strike THE MOVIE: Lucifer - Dawn of Despair, the third feature film from the Monster Strike anime franchise, has started streaming an 80-second full trailer. In addition to intensive battle scenes, the clip features the film's theme song "Eiyuu no Uta" (The Song of Heroes) performed by Masayoshi Oishi.

  The 40-year-old singer-songwriter has been known for his theme song works for Kemono Friends, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Cop Craft, and provided the theme and insert songs for the Monster Strike web anime series in 2019. The song was already included in his double A-side fifth single "Sekai ga Kimi o Hitsuyou to Suru Toki ga Kitanda / Eiyu no Uta" released on May 20, 2020.

  Monster Strike THE MOVIE: Lucifer - Dawn of Despair was originally scheduled to be released in Japan in June 2020, but has been delayed to November due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. Instead of the theatrical release, online preview screenings of the film's two-part edited edition will be held on the Monster Strike franchise's official YouTube channel on June 13 and 14. The first part will be streamed at 19:00 on June 13 (JST), then the second part will be available at 19:00 on the following day.
