also sometimes with the media i consume i don't think about how starved i was for good trans rep as a kid and i just remembered this morning the first time i saw a trans person in a movie and it's just like. man............

#was the studio ghibli film w the trans woman #tokyo godfathers i think it was called? and i'm pretty sure it was the dub that was recontextualized with trans rep #and i literally fucking sobbed my eyes out after the movie bc it was a time where i was still really confused about my gender #am i a woman? no. was it still really important for me to see a trans character at that time in my life? ABSOLUTELY!#i think it's part of what prevented me from going down the worse pipelines when it came to being transgender #i'd rather not tag them because you just know some fuckers are gonna hound me but. you know what i mean yeah?#pitch posts #just. god. i forget how fucking lucky i am to be alive in even the very beginning of the era where we began to be accepted
