Twirling your pencil in one hand while you continued to stare at your blank notebook, you sighed in frustration at the lack of ideas that were coming to you that night.
It had been almost a week since you had gotten an appointment booked for a wedding after such a long time, making you a bundle of nerves and excitement all in one.
Being a wedding planner, as silly as it sounds, was your childhood dream. With your own parents who divorced when you were just three, you never grew up in a typical household, with your mom always too busy for you and your younger brother.
But through all that, you always seemed to love weddings. The love, the excitement, the dynamic environment, everything seemed so new and fresh to you, making you immediately want to be a part of it all.
Since you were younger, you were always good at planning, organizing, and multi-tasking, as you often did by juggling school, jobs, and taking care of your brother. Becoming a wedding planner almost seemed like fate for you, as you couldn't think of any other job that made you as happy as your customers were on their wedding night.
But then here you were, 1 am in the morning, struggling to come up with just the simple ideas for your appointment tomorrow at 10 am. With only 9 hours left, you felt all your hopes draining, while your eyes wouldn't stop from closing.
"I'll figure it out tomorrow.." you yawned, stretching your arms upwards as you crawled into the warmth of your bed.
Giving up, you decided to just leave it to chance and deal with it at your appointment tomorrow morning.

"Jin oppa!" you yelled, as you ran around the office like crazy, trying to organize your stuff for the appointment which was now in less than 15 minutes.
"What? And why on earth are you yelling?" he asked, utterly calm as he brought in a stack of wedding books, dropping them with a thud on your desk.
Letting out a breath of relief, you placed your hands on your hips and smiled at the man before you, "Thanks, I was looking for those."
Chuckling, he said pointedly, "I know, that's why I brought them."
Rolling your eyes in amusement, you took a seat in your chair and stretched, feeling a yawn crawl up your throat.
"Did you not sleep or something? Your bags are heavier than Taehyung's when he goes shopping for snacks," he snorted.
Frowning, you pouted, "I stayed up for a bit trying to think of any general ideas for the couple I'm meeting today, but it's like my brain just froze, and I couldn't think of anything, absolutely anything."
Sighing, Jin replied, “Y/N, don't worry too much. You're a natural when it comes  to this stuff! Plus you'll know exactly what to do when you see the couple and hear their plans, trust me.”
He gave you a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder, before walking towards the door, “I'll send them in once they get here, but just call me if you need any help okay?”
Giving him a grateful smile, you nodded as he grinned back before walking out the door, towards his office.
Jin had been your partner in your business for nearly 2 years now, but you had known him for what seems like forever today. You met him for the first time at a local grocery store at 2 in the morning, near your university. Both of you hungry, irritated and grumpy had grabbed at the last spicy ramen they had left, resulting in playing rock paper scissors to see who would win it. With you and your rotten luck, you had obviously lost, Jin grinning at you like he had won the lottery.
You had walked away sadly, trying to find a lacking replacement for your ramen when a plastic bag was thrust into your hands, the spicy ramen inside of it.
Since that day, Jin and you started to become ramen buddies, helping each other study for exams while you two filled your stomachs with the deliciousness of ramen noodles. Eventually, the two of you realized that you both had the same dream.
Helping people be happy on the happiest day of their lives.
Since then, the two of you had planned your wedding-planning business, and it had skyrocketed with Jin's various connections and your skills in the industry. Smiling at the memories, you turned on the PC in front of you, while adding finishing touches to your already organized desk.
"She's in there.." you heard Jin's voice say from down the hall, your ears perking up at the sound of your new customers.
Getting up from your seat excitedly, you peered towards the door as you heard a pair of footsteps come towards your room. Brushing your hair behind your ear, you cleared your throat and pushed your glasses up your nose when two people entered your room.
First walked in a petite figure, her brown hair in long curls, framing her small face as she wore a baby blue sundress that flowed down till her ankles. She gave you a warm smile, her brown eyes twinkling as she extended her hand towards you, “You must be Y/N...”
Smiling back, you shook her hand, “Yes, that's me! And you must be Rose?"
“This here is my fiancé..,” she motioned as she turned towards the tall man who had trailed behind her, away from your view until your eyes fell upon him, your mind going blank almost instantly.
Every muscle in your body froze as you stared at the figure in front of you; your body felt like it was being suffocated, as if all the air had been sucked out of the room as the memories flooded like a movie in your head, scene after scene flashing by.
It had been over 5 years since you saw him and he still looked just like he did back then, just as handsome as he always was. He was wearing a blue sweater over a plaid shirt that peeked at his collar and wrists, paired with black jeans and some white sneaks. Although simple, he still made it work.
When his eyes met yours, you felt your heart squeeze in your chest at the familiar brown eyes that you once used to know at the back of your hand. The very ones you’d wake up to every morning. The very ones that would gaze at you with so much affection as the words I love you spilled past his mouth during the most random moments of your day.
It was him, your ex-boyfriend, the very Kim Namjoon.
//
You and Namjoon stared at each other for what seemed like forever. Namjoon stared back at you with a blank expression, although his eyes clearly said differently. Finally, you heard him clear his throat, the sound snapping you out of your dazed state, "Nice to meet you Y/N, I'm Kim Namjoon."
Biting your lip, you replied in a small voice, “I-It's nice to meet you too, Namjoon." as you shook his hand softly, his warm hand sending shivers down your body.
Turning around instantly, you motioned them towards the chairs in front of you as you stuttered," I-uh, please take a seat, I will be right back with some books for you to look at."
Quickly walking out the door, unaware of Namjoon’s lingering gaze on you, you ran down the hallway, as you started breathing heavily, the tears pricking at the corner of your eyes
It was him.
It was really him.
And he was getting married.
