I submitted my Jamilton smut fic for my 7th grade creative writing contest. Jefferson and Hamilton's relationship was so toxic (I didn't see anything wrong with it at the time but looking back it was crossing the line of SA holy fuck) that they called my parents and the entire school had to go to the gym the next day so the Dean could give us a presentation. It started off with things like how to get out of a sexually abusive relationship, and signs that you're being abused but then the vice principal took over and started ranting about how he doesn't like when the MIDDLE SCHOOL girls wear spaghetti straps or low cut tops because "their well-developed bodies and curvaceous figures" DISTRACT HIM? So my vice principal outted himself as a pedo and was fired later that day and was basically blacklisted from any job that required him working near kids all because of my shitty Jamilton fic. So if you really think about it Jamilton smut saved a middle school girl from being molested!

I do NOT care that Maria was younger than him, first of all perpetrators come in all ages.

Second of all I don’t care that Maria was put up to it by James!

In the musical, Alexander does not actually ever say yes to Maria until the LAST FEW LINES. I’m aware that it’s referenced that they continue to do this, so my point is more about the first time. Alex does not say yes ONCE. He does not want to cheat on Eliza at first and he simply just does not know how he’s supposed to say no in that situation. (Personally, that hit me hard as a victim.)

I do believe that the rest of the times were consensual but the point begins that their relationship starts and is therefore built off of Maria assaulting him. So therefore I don’t think Alexander (in the musical) should be held entirely at fault for this. He was outright forced the first time and I’m sure there was pressure to say yes the rest of the time. Granted he did keep going back and admits to becoming a past time.

My final point of evidence? Guilt. The way they generally portray his mood at the end of the sentence. Cheaters do not feel that kind of guilt. He is generally depicted as numb or seconds away from tears and that is NOT the reaction that would be provoked from cheating. Maybe you feel guilty, yes, but it’s more of an “oh my gosh I messed up” not an in tears just at the thought of those interactions. Also at the end, when he’s talking to Eliza is It’s Quiet Uptown, he says he would literally trade his life for Phillips because Eliza would be happier. He is very aware of how he’s hurt Eliza in a way that most cheaters I’ve heard of just can’t seem to comprehend, leading me to believe that his self awareness is due to some guilt he feels that because of this he doesn’t deserve to be alive for hurting Eliza, not realizing that he is a victim in this situation and desperately trying to get that point across to her.

Again, IRL? Alexander is at fault. He agreed to cheat on Eliza and continued to do so. But it’s different in the musical. Mostly due to the way Lin wrote Alex to be more of a self insert and possibly due to the musical being from Eliza’s perspective. Still my point stands that this is the way the scandal is portrayed and therefore I believe that Alexander Hamilton (FROM THE MUSICAL) is male SA representation.

idk about anybody else but I originally started as a jamilton shipper but then became a jeffmads shipper just because of the fact that pretty much every jamilton fic I've ever read has been super toxic

for some reason jamilton shippers are incapable of writing anything that isn't just r@pe or just an extremely toxic situationship

In 2019 my teacher asked me what I was writing and I showed her my lams fic and it was so bad she called CPS and I had to explain to a social worker that I wrote a scene which Hamilton had his way with Laurens while Laurens was drunk because I read about it in another fic and thought it was perfectly normal and not because I learned it from my parents or something like that happened to me (I was in 6th grade and wasn't allowed to have unrestricted Internet access until 2022 after that)

Yup. Hello again from the person who started this entire Amrev discourse.

The entire point of the initial post was just me saying that whenever I think of Alexander Hamilton and others, I see them as how they were historically but still am a part of the Hamilton fandom. Unsure how to fully explain it, but the anon who made the “completely seperated the historical and musical versions of all the characters” confession was able to explain it a little bit better. In my post, and the recent posts I have made, I am NOT hating on anyone who is more so deep in the musical fandom, and ships the characters as in the musical. I honestly don’t give a fuck on who you ship or what you believe in musically. However, the moment I mentioned Amrev you just come and hit me with all of the evil and bad stuff they did. Yeah, thanks a lot, I DONT NEED TO BE REMINDED.

Also to the person who said that my opinion doesn’t matter because I “babyfied” the word rape, I only did it not for the purpose of censoring it to the public, but I am unsure if this follows the guidelines of the confession blog and if my confession would even be added. But besides that, let me ask you something. Did the founding fathers and those involved in the American Revolution do bad stuff? Yes. Did they do good stuff? Yes. Should we ignore the bad stuff they did? No. Should we ignore the good stuff they did? No. Should we look at the historical events from all aspects and POV’s? YES.

Look, I am not on their side. Most of them I do not look up to. But I am interested in what they did, but that doesn’t mean that I support everything that they did.

And apologies if this opinion may offend some, but I personally am not on the historical Jamilton, Hamburr, Jeffmads, etc side. I am more on the historical Lams and Hamliza side. Thank you for reading.

the jamilton noncon thing is just not true??? sure, there might be a few fics that include noncon, but i've seen absolutely no art and the majority of fics are devoid of anything rapey (not that there's anything wrong with writing something dark regardless) but that's literally not a true statement that you're making. maybe you're only seeing what you wanna see

I disagree with the idea that Say No to This is an SA song. In the lyrics, Hamilton says "Lord, show me how to say no to this" meaning he knows he is tempted to have sex with Maria by his own mind, not that he is being forced into anything by a woman who is assumably sitting on her bed. He also says, "but my God she looks so helpless, and her body's saying hell yes." Of course, this isn't Hamilton himself saying yes, but he also is by no means genuinely wanting to or trying to get out of the situation. He is attracted to her body and when he says that she is "helpless" it parallels Eliza in Act I when he fell in love with her. Hamilton is therefore at fault for cheating.

The point about guilt is also questionable. He is not on the verge of tears, and is worry isn't only guilt. It is also concern for his own reputation. Throughout the entire musical, Hamilton is extremely focused on his career, success, and of course his "legacy." Those are the things he was thinking of when he was paying to have sex with another man's wife. He was not concerned with Eliza, as we can see in both Non Stop and Take a Break.

This being said, I just wanna make sure to say that this doesn't mean I don't believe that men can be SA'd. I just have no reason to believe that Alexander Hamilton was, whether it was the musical or in real life.

content warning for mentions of rape im just remembering this hamilton fic I read a while back that I remember very vividly for some reason….

one time I read a jamilton/ past jedams fic without reading the tags first. the plot was that hamilton and jefferson were already dating and were having dinner when hamilton announced that he had invited one of his coworkers over. that person turned out to be adams. in this fic, adams used to rape and abuse jefferson when they were dating until he finally left him, and hamilton was unaware of this. adams was being a little creepy but nothing too bad until jefferson decided he needed to go to the bathroom because he was uncomfortable (rightfully so). at one point while jefferson was in the bathroom, adams managed to get in and forced jefferson into the bedroom. adams then rapes jefferson to a point he actually breaks his hip and hamilton walks in on it happening. hamilton, who obviously had no idea what was going on, had just assumed jefferson was cheating on him and left. the rest of the fic is kind of a blur but i think jefferson ended up in the hospital where hamilton visited him and got everything cleared up and he was, obviously, no longer mad at jefferson and told him he’d never let adams near him again and i think he may have threatened to kill him? I can’t remember this part very well.

I think the weirdest part was that it was actually very well written and did a good job at not romanticizing the abuse. it was slightly comforting to me when I read it at the time since I was doing pretty bad mentally due to similar trama so I didn’t really regret reading it? I wouldn’t read it if you’re sensitive to that kind of stuff though

the fic was called “the unexpected house guest” if im not mistaken so if you’re interested I would lowkey recommend reading it
