He’d get some pretty weird looks, of course. But considering that, among sixth rangers’ arsenal/buddies, we have a talking lantern (Daigoyou), two robots (Gosei Knight and J), and aircraft-animal hybrids that communicate through chibi projections of themselves (Jetras and Toripter)... is it really that weird?

i was thinking about your go onger rpm crossover art ALOT and i totally just remembered to ask this. how would you think the rpm crew would react to the engines as a concept and how would each one get along with their go-onger counterparts partner engine(s)?

What a great question!! Strap urself in we're on a one way trip to headcanon town!

I think, at least initially, the team would have a hard time trusting the engines. The only other sentient robots they've ever seen literally ended the world sooooo. But after they got over the initial shock, they'd all for the most part get along fairly well.

The SECOND DrK sees the engines, she'd want to pull them to pieces and figure out how they work. Flynn would be the same, but once he realises Bus-on/Jum Bowhale can just ANSWER the questions, he'd calm down 😂

Speedor is number 1 precious boy, he and Scott would make a great pair (Speedor not being able to fly would throw him for a loop tho lmao). However, I think it would take Scott the longest to see the engines as actual living creatures. He'd say something rude or dismissive of Speedors feelings, but would be quick to apologise once he realised the error in his thinking

BearRV would LOVE Summer, and I truly believe Summer would encourage BearRs crushes even more than Saki does (Summer number one BearR wingman)

Ziggy would (to everyones horror) start talking like Birca. These two would just be an awful feedback loop of stupid questions and even stupider answers and they'd drive everyone crazy but they'd be having the absolute time of their lives chatting away in the garage

Dillon and Gunpherd would NOT trust each other AT ALL. Suprise! Cop dog and criminal on bail do not see eye to eye! It would take time, but eventually they'd start to form a mutual respect for each others strengths

Gem and Gemma would be absolutely crazy for Toripter and Jetras. Little robot friends! They'd quickly work out how to mod the engines and try to go hog wild with the upgrades (the engines would request maybe just a tune up tyvm, the extra lasers seem a liiiiiittle unneccasary)

Also, (as a little personal HC side note) driving/piloting the engines would feel completely different to operating the zords. The engines have this strange mind melding effect - something the rpms would have great difficulty growing accustomed to. (On the flip side, the zords needing to be completely manually controlled would be a steep learning curve for the go ongers)

Minfic of Sosuke coming back with Miu after his proposal only to see Hiroto still passed out

*Slightly off topic but I found out that Speedor is voiced by Namikawa Daisuke and now I can’t get the image of Oikawa as a little sentient toy car out of my head hahahaha

The couple, now holding hands and wearing teary but bright smiles on their faces, made their way back to their cheering friends who were making a ruckus in their excitement.

“Congratulations, Miu! Sousuke!” A sniffly Renn greeted them, as Gunpei pounded Sousuke’s back. Saki rushed over to gawk at the rock now adorning Miu’s finger. 

“Doruuuu! My partner’s getting married doruuuu!” cried Speedor, sobbing hysterically, much to the dismay of his own wife and son. The other Engines made their own noises of approval and joy, even the normally reticent Ancient Engines.

“Bom bom! This calls for a celebration bom bom!” BOMPER exclaimed, carrying a bottle of champagne ready to be popped open. 

“Wait, where’s Ani?” Miu questioned, noticing that her brother was not amongst her friends celebrating with her. “Wait, Sousuke, did you tell him...?”

“I asked him ages ago! He said he was fine with it!” reassured the racer. “I knew I couldn’t propose if he didn’t approve...”

“Ah, actually... about Aniki...” Toripter sheepishly said. Miu and Sousuke looked at the Engine, confused. “He’s resting in the RV... He actually fainted, batta.”

“Fainted?!” Miu shrieked, finally irritated at her own brother. “My stupid ani fainted?!”

“Honey, calm down-” Sousuke tried to soothe his fiancee, who was beginning to flush in outrage. “I’m sure he just, like, forgot to eat or something-”

“No, he definitely passed out because of the whole proposal thing,” Gunpei snorted. Sousuke slapped him on the head for his comment, as did Renn. “What? I was just saying-”

“Idiot Ani... He’s such a drama queen, I swear...” Miu grumbled, sounding more and more incensed with each word. She grabbed the unopened champagne bottle from BOMPER’s grasp and went into the RV, still muttering obscenities under her breath.

The other Go-ongers and BOMPER cowered behind Sousuke as the Engines gave the Red Ranger a scared look. “Partner, are you still sure about marrying that, doru?”
