Japan’s National Catcher, Miyuki Kazuya, Accused of Doping During Recent Baseball Season

Miyuki Kazuya, Yomiuri Giants’ main catcher, and recently promoted Japan Team Captain for the World Cup, stunned the world when he led the Japanese Team to win against the Puerto Rican last season at the World Cup, before losing to the American Representative Team, landing securely in second place. The Yomiuri Giants' orange "Miyuki 22" jersey has been increasing steadily in sales until it peaked as the most-sold official NPB merchandise in a single season. Although still a relative rookie—three years as the starting catcher for the giants, and only six total under the NPB—Miyuki's reputation as the up-and-coming superstar came as no surprise to most avid watchers. Especially because of his skill.

However, it seems some officials have gotten suspicious of his near-perfect gameplay (a 0.402 batting average, 37 home runs, and 98 RBIs all in a single season!). Miyuki is currently being investigated by the NPB for suspicion of the use of PEDs during the recent season, and possibly prior seasons. His managers and the Yomiuri Giants’ have yet to comment on this scandal. However, it has been confirmed by NPB officials that Miyuki has submitted samples to a lab to be tested.

meisan the only reason miyuki wants to go is because he wants a new pitcher. he’s said it before in interviews. he wants a real partnership with his battery mate, and he hasn’t found that in japan. not even with narumiya mei (as much as i hate to admit it lol)

101pitching if he signs with an MLB team, he's probably going to get a nike or adidas contract but Asics has their claws DEEP in the NPB board so they might've done something here to prevent him from leaving and signing with a rival

nautilusshell he has some say in who the giants sign next, right? as the superstar catcher, i would assume they don't take his opinion on who to sign lightly

baseballislife yeah he does. i've been following some of the college teams not associated with schools and i wanted to see how miyuki would fare against the nagano jets... they have four pitchers currently and are looking for a two new ones ever since the two oldest ones moved on/graduated. one of their pitchers has been giving all the other universities and independent teams some trouble, though...

nautilusshell ah yeah i've heard that! mihashi ren, right? the nagano jets have an impressive lineup this year... kominato haruichi, abe takaya, and then the newcomers, seto, okumura, asada, kuki, yuuki (who is the younger sibling of seido's assistant coach!!)... i wouldn't be surprised if they swept the college series and minor-leagues this year.

      makki presses his fingers together in front of him, using his the heels of his feet to move the swivel chair from side to side one of his eyebrows raised as he looks into the mirror in contemplation. he’s got an a few hours before his next scheduled appointment comes in, so he’s got some time to spare. “should i dye my hair blue?” it’s an absurd question seeing as he’d just gone ahead and made his already nearly pink hair even more bubblegum pink than it had been just a few weeks ago. maybe it’s the boredom setting in, seeing as most of the businesses located in this part of the main shopping streets have been fairly slow moving the past few days. if it weren’t for the fact that they were the only good hair salon on this side of the city they might have been struggling to keep a float. “what do you think mattsun?”

    the back of the aquarium unit of the toyko zoo is much larger than one might think. behind the dark, lighted walls of the inside buildings is series of dingy white floors and walls, interconnecting many of the tanks that visitors look upon and then some. makki brings the cup of frozen watermelon lemonade up to his lips, taking a small sip as he walks past the other employee’s getting readying for the day, making his way toward the tanks containing one of the three octopodes in the sea life part of the zoo. once the tank comes into view he sees one of the males, nicknamed hachiro, and gives him a polite nod as he approaches the tank. “good morning, hachiro. have you finally mated with the young fox over there, or do we have to switch you out, hm?” 

     makki sets down the paper cup of his frozen drink on one of the clean tables used for paperwork, sign ins, and supply refills before smoothing out his lavender work shirt. there’s supposed to be a group of middle school kids coming into the aquarium for a learning experience, and a chance to use to touch tank and while he loves his job he doesn’t usually love large groups of sticky kids. that’s not to say that he hates kids, he likes them, so long as they clean their hands before touching the thick glass of the tanks. “well, anyhow, keep it PG while the children are around, would ya’?” he questions, hands gripped on his hips, head tilting in the direction of the octopus.

      kageyama still wasn’t sure whether or not it was a blessing or a curse that he’d ended up on the same university team as oikawa. the only thing that he did know was that it wasn’t going well at all, in fact it’d sort of started out exactly like it did in middle school. which also meant, that kageyama still used it as a way to try and get his senpai to help him learn even more about becoming a setter; he knows that there’s still so much more than he can learn. 

      he wanders into the gym for extra practice, cream colored crew neck sweater handing just off his collar bones, the fabric pulled down even more from the back he has slung over his shoulder. what he sees is not what he’s expecting: oikawa tooru. vaguely he remembers that date, and realizes that it’s his birthday. i’m surprised he isn’t with iwaizumi-san. clearing his throat, kageyama makes his way into the gym, dropping his back onto the floor near the doorway. “um, happy birthday.” he doesn’t know why he says it, only that it feels good to say.

         “happy birthday shittykawa.” iwaizumi brings his fist back, and drives it right into oikawa’s arm, not nearly as hard as he could have. “only eighteen of those left to go.”

        for the most part kageyama tobio would consider himself to be professional, perhaps even too professional at times but when it comes a certain tattooed intern from across the street all formalities and professionalism goes out the window. the spitfire red-headed boy makes kageyama’s blood boil in a way that it’s never done so before, which is saying a lot because all throughout school he’d been a loner who got into frequent arguments with students over being the leads in groups, the right way to do things and literally anything else. he never got along with other students before, and the only reason he’d landed a job here was because sugawara-san did it behind oikawa-san’s back since they needed the help. which he now regrets since it’s this job that’s opened up his blood boiling anger toward hinata shoyo. 

      with his hands in fists by his side, he makes his way out into the waiting area of the spa, and clears his throat. there is a hole slew of things that he wants to say right now, but none of them would be appropriate with one of sugawara-san’s older clients waiting just a few chairs away from the tattooed red-head. “hinata shoyo, this way please.” kageyama forces out as a professional response as he can muster, though he only waits a minute amount of time before turning his back and heading back toward the room he’d prepared for the usual appointment. kageyama waits by the door, hands now clasped behind his back as he watches hinata walk down the hallway, his face twisted into a scowl. “please get changed into the robe hanging on the hooks, and then flick the switch near the door upward to let me know that you’re ready to start your appointment.” the fire burning in his veins is growing hotter the nicer that he has to be, all he wants to do is yell dumbass hinata! and run then other way. every time that kageyama mentions it to his senpai’s they smile and laugh at him, before patting him on the back, which maybe confuses him even more so. 

       turning on his heels he heads back toward one of the rooms down the hall to begin folding some of the towels for the other rooms while he waits. from the front he can hear yachi on the phone making more appointments, and strains his hearing to make sure that none of them are with him — after this appointment he’s going to be all burned out.

        oikawa struts into the main reception area of seijoh spa with a smile on his face. he’d just cleaned up the room he’d been using, and getting it all set up for his next appointment in an hour. tuesday’s weren’t usually a busy day for the spa which usually meant it was just he and yachi or suga and yachi working alone during the day, unless there was a sudden spike in customers. luckily for him, the day was rather slow unless there were appointments, so he’s taking the time to relax a little. 

        “yachi-kun, i’m going to head over to the tattoo shop to visit. i’ll be back before my next appointment, but if you need anything just give me a call.” his smile is easy, as he walks past the front desk, and the young blond seated at the front. 

         “sure thing, oikawa-san!” yachi smiles, and points her pink, poof top pen in the air. “oh! before i forget, when you get back there’s an inventory slip that needs looking over!” 

           with a nod of his head, and a wave of his hand he slips out the front door leaving yachi with the sound of the bell. the weather outside is a lot hotter than he remembered the last time he’d been outside, the air conditioner in the spa had made his body accustomed to the cool air. letting out a huff, oikawa fixes the green and white work shirt, and smooths out his white pants as he makes his way across the shopping outlet to cats and owls tattoo parlor where he spends most of his time during the work day. 

          “ah! good afternoon!” oikawa announces as he opens the door to the parlor, stepping inside and immediately scanning the room for the tell-tale lavender hair of kozume kenma. “and a special good afternoon to you, kitten-kun.”

       aside from kenma and oikawa the shop has been pretty dead and pretty boring since he’d gotten in this morning. for the rest of the staff he was sure they enjoyed having days like today where they were able to relax a little more than usual, but bokuto hated it. unlike the rest of them he wasn’t a tattoo artist or a piercer like kenma, all he was was the desk bitch and considering his side of the job counted on people calling to make appointments, or checking in for an appointment he was stuck. 

       bokuto pulled another chip out of the bag and popped it into his mouth crunching down loud enough that he was sure that other two would hear it over their conversation. with focused eyes he tries to pronounce each one of the additives in his head in order to attempt to pass the time until they head down to the crows nest.
