Twilight of the Gods! Sigyn HCs

In TOTG, Sigyn is the eldest daughter of Tiwaz and Gullveig, elder sister of Eostre, Hnoss and Gersemi and 2nd wife of Loki. At first Tiwaz wanted to set her up with any of Odin's sons or nephews as a way to try strengthen Aesir Vanir ties then. But Sigyn isn't drawn to any of the potential Aesir suitors at all and just happen to have sparks fly with Odin's new Jotunn blood brother Loki ( who was a widower then ). They began courting ( much to many' surprised cuz Sigyn was a seemingly sunshine person while Loki is all machivellanism and frost ) and eventually, they got married. She was also amongst her aunt Freya's handmaids and a member of the Aesir Volva Order before her marriage to Loki

Sigyn tries her damn best to beba diplomatic figure between Aesir and Vanir courts and even made powerful alliances with several of them. She was a doting mother to her sons and step children, and truly loves Loki and he adores her

Then Baldr died, and Sigyn was forced to watch Loki being cast down to a cave in Nornheim and her sons being murdered in front of her eyes

Gullveig passed down her Seidr skills to her daughters. And when Sigyn was introduced to the Aesir court at the cusp of adulthood, Eostre was in her teen years, and Hnoss and Gersemi were in their pre teens.

The daughters of Tiwaz and Gullveig are all flower/tree humanoid hybrids ( more flower humanoid ). All of them have black or brown hair, bronzed skin, and vines across their arms and legs, and main flowers around them.

Sigyn got pink roses around her, Eostre got sunflowers around her, Hnossa got lavenders around her, and Gersemi has bluebells around her

When she showed up to Asgard with an entourage in tow, she immediately caught the eye of Loki, who becomes a new blood brother of Odin, and she spoke with decorum and confidence in turn.

Sigyn is a loving wife to Loki and a doting mother to her sons and step children.

TOTG! Sigyn is kinda like Margaery Tyrell, Queen Aurora, Arwen and Queen Zelda in spades. And she often dresses kinda like Margaery Tyrell, Juliet Capulet and Queen Aurora in spades

Also TOTG Sigyn gives me Lana Del Rey vibes

I guess it's a similar case with in TOTG and Valhalla btw

TOTG Sigyn is born a Vanir Princess, later a Princess Consort of Asgard, and then a warlock in Nornheim in Ragnarok. So I mix Slavic, Byzantine and Nordic fashion elements in her wardrobe, mainly pink colors, floral elements and prettily embroidered cloaks

When she and Loki were in Asgard, they often adapt Aesir elements in their clothing. Yet after the deaths of Vali and Narvi, they burned down their old Aesir clothes and wear more of their home realms' fashions.

Aside from being a powerful sorceress, Sigyn is also talented in Weaving and embroidering and made several cloaks herself

Sophia of Byzantine, Helga from Vikings, Lucrezia Borgia, Margaery Tyrell and Queen Aurora are amongst my style inspos for TOTG Sigyn's fashions

Also Lana Del Rey is a face model of mine for TOTG Sigyn. I also imagine her to sound kinda like Lana Del Rey in spades

Twilight of the Gods! Nanna HCs

Nanna Neprsdottir is the eldest daughter of Nepr and Eir, and the elder sister of Lofn and Sjofn. Gentle and decorous, Nanna is an exceptionally talented healer like her mother with an amazingly strong spirit. She is a representation of a softer side of Asgard

She and Sif knew the sons of Odin as children, and their families have hoped that Sif, Idunn ( who was Sif's younger sister in TOTG ) and Nanna can marry any of Odin's sons

As she approached adulthood, she and Baldr gradually fell in love and later got married. Since Baldr was Odin's chosen heir ( like in the Myths ), Nanna automatically resumed position as Crown Princess of Asgard.

Sif, Idunn, Nanna and Sigyn are amongst the retinue of the handmaids of Freya before they got married to their respective husbands

When Sigyn comes along, Sif, Idunn and Nanna are already married, so Sigyn has a hunch to learn from the older Aesir peers thst she trusted. Nanna becomes a trusted friend and big sister figure to Sigyn, and she kinda ships Loki with Sigyn, as she noticed that Loki becomes softer and more relaxed around that Vanir Princess

However, When Baldr and Nanna's son Forseti was but a young boy, disaster struck. Nanna spiraled into deep grief upon the loss of her husband And even though she was rightfully angry at Sigrid for accidentally killing her husband, Nanna understands that Sigrid had no intention to do so and even tried to bargain a more merciful verdict on Sigrid and her squad of warriors, and Loki and his little family.

Unfortunately, she was kept away from that whole trial on Sigyn and her sons, and when Nanna finally heard of Vali and Narvi's execution and Sigyn's banishment, that did it for her

As Nanna was dying of despair on how Asgard is falling apart and some of her comrades became so cruel, she entrusted her sisters to take Forseti to sanctuary in Vanaheim. Eventually, Forseti was raised under the case of Sigyn's younger sisters in Vanaheim as a ward.

Nanna was overall calm and soft spoken, yet not to be trifled with. Tragically, if more people had listened to her.....Sigyn's curse onto those perpetrators may not have happened.

TOTG Nanna is kinda like Arwen and Lady Jocelyn in spades

Some TOTG! Nine Realms HCs :

. Sigyn and her sisters grew up learning the art of the Seidr from their mother. Their mother, Gullveig, may have agreed on peace terms of the Aesir Vanir War, yet she never forgot what she been through in the event, so she stressed her daughters to never forget where they came from.

. Even after she becomes Princess of Asgard, Sigyn often keeps a distance from Odin due to her mother being speared by fire thrice by those Aesir, which played a huge cause in the Aesir Vanir War in the first place. Gullveig may have managed to set that aside to come to terms of truce after the long time Aesir Vanir War, yet Sigyn isn't so sure if she were to be this merciful if a similar thing happened to her.

. Nanna was often a peacemaker between rivaling factions. She and Baldr had made plans to build a better Asgard once they took over rulership of Asgard. Too bad tragedy struck....

. Thor was a bit more of a meathead in this. And while he was as prideful as many other Aesir, even he has standards, as he values honor and keeper of oath deeply and fiercely loves Sif and his children. He was angry over Baldr's death and wanted vengeance upon Loki.....until he, Sif and his children are all locked away while Vali and Narvi are executed under Odin's orders ( which horrified A LOT of people in the Nine Realms )

. Sif was a bit more haughty than her Valhalla comics counterpart. She has the machivellanisms of Cersei Lannister and the sensual drive of Lady Capulet. Yet first and foremost, she's a mother. And many things she has done are out to protect her children from harm. During Ragnarok, when Thor began to be torn between 2 sides to fight ( either to fight Loki or fight against Odin ), Sif eventually found him and took him to refuge in Vanaheim.

. Sigyn becomes a good friend to Sif, Nanna, and Idunn, and they all can't imagine the grief and rage Sigyn was going through when she had to watch her sons butchered in front of her

. Hel becomes a sword wielder of retribution over what happened to Loki and Sigyn, and she helped lead the armies of undead to wreck havoc amongst Odin's fleets

. Baldr was, well, a classic example of Prince Charming trope. Yet even he sometimes wonders if he's up to task to be a successor. Luckily, Nanna helps him out with it

. Idunn was a usually bubbly maiden who loved apples and becomes one of Sigyn's closest friends. She loves dancing while Bragi loves poetry and singing.

. Bragi is essentially kinda like Geoffrey Chaucer and Robin Hood in spades

. At first Sif intensely dislikes Loki for once cutting off part of her hair in their younger years. Later on she is ( mostly ) civil to him on most part. In Ragnarok, Sif fiercely protects her husband and children from all the rampage and destruction across the Nine Realms caused by Odin and Hela

. While Nanna is more of a peacemaker and healer, Sigyn is more of a Priestess and strategist. Sigyn becomes exceptionally good at scheming and coming up strategies, a trait that Loki loves about so much

. Loki feels more at home with Sigyn. Essentially they are like 2 ' outsiders ' in Asgard who found real home with one another

. Sigyn immediately warms up to Loki's other children from his 1st marriage and showed empathy over the passing of Angrboda. At first Loki's other children are a bit nervous around cuz they faced scrutiny from some other Aesirs when they first came to Asgard, yet they gradually warmed to Sigyn

. Although Freya agreed to marry Odin for Aesir Vanir ties reasons, she did grew to care for him in her own way. But when Odin gradually goes mad with power, he gradually pushed her away. The execution of Vali and Narvi is the final straw as Freya leaves Odin to side with the Vanir court over this.

. In fact, all the sons of Odin are horrified when Odin and his squad then executed Sigyn's sons and tortured Sigyn in such a way. Such betrayal on one of the finest strategists in rhe Nine Realms can only spell Doom for many

. So the sons of Odin fled from Odin and fought alongside those who rise up against Odin.

. Thor had a bit of a tug of war of conscience due to magical influence by Odin and Hela, before Sif finally found him, took him in to a refuge in Vanaheim and helped him recover.

. It took young Hel some time to fully accept Sigyn as her stepmother. Hel loves her biological mother ( Hel is more like Angboda btw ), and is grieved when her mother passed, so it took Hel some time to open herself to a new mother figure who cares for her.

. Angboda is the the daughter of Njord and Skadi and therefore the elder half sister of Tiwaz and Freya. Her mother Skadi divorced from Njord when Angboda was very young so Angboda was raised mainly in Jotunheim.

. Loki and Angboda's former marriage was an arranged one due to political reasons in Jotunheim. They don't hate each other, they are just not that passionate with each other. However, Loki did show remorse and grief when Angboda passed ( after a sickness due to a Extreme Winter in Jotunheim - my theory )

. A reason why Loki goes to Asgard to help protect his elder children from the Trolls of Utgard.

. Loki was absolutely passionate about Sigyn and determined to offer her the best things in the world. And she rewards those efforts with kisses and tenderness

. Thor x Sif in TOTG is kinda similar to Bob x Helen Parr in The Incredibles in spades

. Sigrid and her Midgardian squad soon found themselves caught in a whole tug of war between the Norse Gods over a series of dramas. Eventually, Sif decided to send them back to Midgard for their safety ( Sigrid and her squad all wanted to help, yet it becomes too dangerous for them and their tribes are also in danger. Sif offers them magical runes to help them protect their villages if Odin ever tries to rampage their villages.

. And those runes actually worked - it effectively helped them protect their villages as the Nine Realms shook

. Odin eventually dies as Hel shot a fatal magical arrow ( powered by a streak of Loki's magic ) in the Final Battle of Ragnarok.

. Loki and Sigyn are truly a power couple - no one with any sense would really mess with the Jotunn Prince and one of the best strategists in the Nine Realms. Only someone foolish would do such a thing, and that also helped cause Ragnarok

. Freya and her handmaids often like to have sewing circles and have tea parties together. In fact, several of the members of the Aesir court at those points are hybrids.

. The Vanir men and women often wear flowers and garlands on their hairs. While the Aesir men and women often wear any shiny accessory they can find

. Alfheim is ruled by the House of Mundilfari, with his twins Sunna and Mani, and Nidavellir is ruled by the House of Ivaldi, with his 4 sons and numerous grandchildren

Yeah, I feel the same way. I don't think either of them would make eachother happy. The way I view it, their love less romantic and more there as a need for inmaticy and companionship. They fulfill eachother's needs but at the same time are actively not dealing with their own issues.They are doomed from the beginning, and no amount of love romantic or otherwise can fix that.

As for Sigyn appearing in Norse adaptations. I think making Sigyn variants as a fan thing for fun is harmless(I do it sometimes, too). I only take issue with it when people are actively trying to push her into adaptations. I personally don't really want to see her in the mcu, nor do I mind or care if she appears in Totg or not. My opinion is that if Sigyn is going to be adapted into an adaptation of Norse mythology, it should be the creator of the adaptation choice to do so or not.

Logyn, to me, is less of a soft, gentle girl x a silly bad boy who have this perfect domestic relationship that becomes doomed by tragedy.

But more of two individuals who both have a lot of trauma get married because they're both messy and feel as if they only have eachother to cope with that. But, in reality, end up making eachother even worse without realizing it till it's too late and they are doomed by tragedy due to the narrative.
