Planted this Marmo maple about 25 years ago as a young cub at the local Barnes & Noble. Despite living in a strip mall parking lot and being haphazardly cared for, it’s doing very well! #trees #marmomaple #acerfreemanii #treeplanting #toughtrees https://www.instagram.com/p/CpYHR4qu0ld/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Roof Damaged By A Tree Renovation
http://ift.tt/1kPjT9W
Strong winds from typhoons can blow trees to your roof. Trees were planted in your garden and now lying prettily on your roof. Once the storm has passed repairs will need to be made as quickly as possible. Proper repairs must be made to insure the integrity of your roof, prevent further water damage and to maintain the value of your home. Careful preparation is essential to a positive outcome for this project.
Complexity: Medium Level
Steps
List of Essential Materials you need:
Chainsaw
Tarp
Hammer & Skill saw
Square & Tape measure
Nails & Plywood
Shingles & Tar paper
Ladder
Chalk
Roof Restoration Chain saws are perfect for cutting the parts of the trees. Make sure that when you cut the parts ; it will fall on the proper place. You must take into account that further damage to the roof is not tolerable. Cover the hole with a synthetic material right after moving the parts of the tree. Further damage to the roof can be lessen by this.
Examine the damaged part. In your first attempt of checking the roof, you must know the extent of the damage in the area. Your roof will in all likelihood be covered with 4 foot by 8 foot plywood sheets beneath the roofing material. Mark the edges under the roof that is damaged.
Get rid of the damage parts. If the majority of the plywood sheet is damaged you will replace the entire sheet. Minimal repairs or minimal plywood replacement must be done if only one edge is damaged. Remove all the synthetic sheets that you have used as a guide.
Every section of the plywood to be cut must be marked. Know the exact length of the next rafter and then mark the center. Using the full width of the square board mark a straight line. Make it sure that when you cut the plywood using the chainsaw, you cut through the straight line. The rafter?s half is exposed after the cut, making it easy for you to put the new sheet of plywood.
Essentially you need to replace the whole section of the plywood first, and then quantify the length of the partial pieces and cut them. Place each section in its intended location and secure it with nails. After nailing the plywood, cover it with a tar paper.
New asphalt shingle must be put for the completion of the repairs. The reparation?s last stage is the installation of new roof shingles. The lowest are will be filled first with new shingles. To form a water tight seal, overlapping of the new and old shingles is encouraged. Partial shingles should be removed and replace with new full shingles. Climb to your roof with a ladder. Secure the overlapping of the new and old shingles to prevent water leaks.
Tips & Warnings Before finishing, examine your attic for water leaks and fix it. While the roof is under repair, the revamping of the wet insulation can be done simultaneously.
Precautionary measures such as wearing goggles and hearing protection is a must when using the chainsaw.
